But you’ve excluded retro bikes, quirky bikes, niche bikes, clown bikes, 650b, hybrids, singlespeed, fixies, DH, race whippets – what’s left for your average STWer?
I find it strange that the pic of my bum cleavage was removed yet there have been plenty of images of the frequent ‘naked bike rides’ posted on here without complaint.
And it’s not is if it isn’t an everyday sight, just pass some roadworks and you’re very likely to encounter something very similar.
Note to mods, would it be better to remove the offending pictures/text but leave the comment in to keep thread continuity eg PIC REMOVED BY MODS?
It’s just rumours at this stage so I’m not convinced this 38degrees campaign will mean much and I’d be really surprised if the government wanted to start that fight all over again when you consider how bloodied they were in the last one.
Same here, regular squirt with wet lube, VERY occasionally remove and clean the chain in a bath of solvent. Mind you it’s on a Rohloff so not so critical.
As well as being absorbed by foliage, most weedkillers are systemic so wont’ work of the foliage is not still attached to the plant. And as I understand it, knotweed is pretty resistant anyway. If you have chunks of plant attached to your bike, take them off and burn them, otherwise don’t bother with the chemicals.
That’s the worst ‘wiring diagram’ I’ve ever seen. However looking at the product in this picture:- http://www.kemo-electronic.de/images/ArtM172_1000x750.png
It’s seems quite straight forward.
The right-hand wire (I assume 2 core, it’s AC so polarity doesn’t matter)goes to the dynamo. If it’s single core, one of the dynamo terminals will have to be grounded to the frame.
The middle orange wire goes to the lights
The left-hand orange wire goes to the frame so the bike acts as one of the wires.
Where did you buy it?
I’d be VERY surprised if an alloy lever broke before denting the top tube but don’t have a solution that doesn’t involve moving the levers which you don’t want to do. DFC.*
My bugbear is people on any forum replying with ‘this has already been discussed’ or ‘use the search function’. But nothing is worse than people who criticise other posters’ replies without adding content of their own
Hmmm so you snipped my ‘added content’ yet added nothing of your own. 🙂
It’s a public forum. People’s bikes, age, riding style, experience, skills, ambitions, ability and location vary, therefore their opinions vary. Just assume nothing you read on here is gospel and you’ll be fine.
My particular bugbear is people starting new threads without checking that the subject has already been discussed.
I’ve been a cyclist and a motorcyclist. I’ve given up the motorbike because the risk of really serious injury is too great. How ever careful you are there’s always the chance someone will do a SMIDSY on you. And let’s face it, you can have just as much fun on a mtb, it’s all about being on the edge and on a bicycle that happens at much lower speeds.
Do you refuse to have overweight friends, smokers, people who drive too fast, people who waste the earth’s resources? No. Tell him what you think, if you must, but it’s their decision, not yours.
I’d go for different examples but the argument is sound –
– suspension forks. Longer travel suspension forks.
– rear suspension (the Thudbuster was the ‘compromise’)
– Disc brakes
– 29ers
Yes, my examples were rubbish, I was in a hurry, but frames do evolve all the same. As well as your examples there’s ISCG, Funny headset sizes, new materials. . .
People who are likely, and able, to buy a Pinion compatible frame aren’t going to be too bothered about buying a new frame. As I said, it’s the cost that’s the crucial factor.
People get too hung up on the retro fit thing, bikes evolve, fat bars, seat posts, 7,8,9,10,11 gears, etc. All that needs to happen is for one major manufacturer to make frames available at under £1k and bingo, everyone will make one.
