Silly me ordered two sizes of endura shorts as unsure of fit.  Anybody want some cheap XL shorts?

    I have;

Endura Humvee II 3/4 length (dark camo type ones which come with clickfast liner)

    and

    Endura Singletrack Lite in Black

Anybody want both?  Just PM me if you do.  Happy to do both for £40 inc. postage.

    Cheers.

I went from gen 1 levo SL in XL to S4 in Kenevo SL and it’s perfect for me.  If you were happy with the large levo SL then you may well be with the S3 KSL.

Great bikes.  Don’t worry about the new motor – it is a meh ‘upgrade’ IMO.

Help me out folks as totally clueless.

Looking for cheap bike to have permanently on trainer (wahoo kicker core) that myself and the mrs can use.  Have been sticking one of our mtbs on there but sick of the hassle and mud everywhere.

Anything in the chiggle madness that would fit the bill?  Have only ever stuck our through axle boost 1x stuff on there to date and clueless about all other bikes and standards and what would work on the wahoo trainer.

I’ve also just bought a Levo SL comp carbon and absolutely loving it. It’s a stumpjumper with a helping hand. Still knackered after riding it and it rides very much like a non e trail bike. If you want to do longer rides (or shorter ones faster), but don’t want to do it on a motorbike it is ideal. Battery and range is impressive with the 35nm motor as well.

With the orbea being 60nm and only slightly more capacity batttery than the SL then I would expect it will chew through that battery pretty quickly if you use all the assistance. You then will always need to ride with the range extender which negates some of the headline weight savings I would expect. TBH I don’t get the concept unless I am wrong about the range with the internal battery.

Just bought a specialized levo SL. Did 1000m of climbing and 30k yesterday, came back with 40% battery and a huge grin. Not ruined this morning. Only issue is the normal bike feels like it has 2 permanent flat tyres now.

I know you said £500 max but the kickr core we’ve had for a year has been fantastic. We ride flats on it. Wheel off regular mtb, hooked up – pedal away. However we have subscription to trainerroad which adds substantially to the cost.

I have a 2020. They are literally built like a tank. I think I could take any WWII Panzer out if I had the high ground and a little run up.

Berlingo here. Fantastic vehicle. Seats out and rubber mat in back. Can only fit one bike with both wheels in however. Front wheel off the other one. Loads of room for additional kit. Going on hols with in-laws in a couple of weeks and will take 2 of the rear seats to transport them around in when need be. Very versatile. Looks and handles shocking, but quite a relaxed drive once used to it. Tried the panel van thing but much less versatile IMHO.

We are still in Brum. The mrs didn’t like the job in the end so didn’t take it – call her fickle.

We are still looking at a move and as noted above the COVID situation has enhanced our motivation to do so away from Birmingham. We are in a watch and wait pattern at the moment as a few things are uncertain – so a move may be on the cards next year but it may just be slightly further away from brum (currently thinking somewhere M50 corridor with easier access to FOD / Wales etc).

Working patterns are indeed going to be fascinating going forward. I have been working at home for close on 5 months now and will only have some time back in the office (possibly only 1 day a week) from mid september onwards. At the same time the mrs has been furloughed. Strange times all around. I will not be returning to the office 5 days a week in the future whatever the circumstance – there is just no need and whilst home working has many disadvantages it is also good in other respects. I am not talking about working from the trails either lol!!!

and on mine – you are doing something wrong?

We rode the red on Sunday. I like Gisburn. If you / he are new there are some parts of tech sections (home baked, bottom of bottoms (rocky, rooty), possibly parts of sweepy) to watch out for. No shame in looking at sections. I nearly had an OTB catching a front wheel on bottoms.

Really liked long way down – fast and fun.

Bloody knackered at the end but getting on in my afternoons.

we have a kickr core which has been excellent but have nothing to compare it too as it’s our first trainer

Disagree with comments above. Sounds spot on for RS debonair. I have a 150 pike which sits at 10% sag plus under weight of bike. I think the footnut is longer on the new airshaft and -ve volume less. Annoying isn’t it and some suspect the new airshaft is just masking this feature, as opposed to an ‘upgrade’.

Cool – I may refit then folks!! Just paranoid. Find it easy enough to injure myself due to ineptitude so don’t want the bike killing me also!!

Yes to the gritty paste lol.

Stem clamp has marked the bars (this is cleaned) and slight horizontal mark from face plate. Looking at the stem the face plate creates area where this can happen (not perfectly oval when clamped).

Am I being fussy or not?

Stem says 5 nm and oneup bars are max 5nm so torqued to that. Used carbon paste as well.

It’s called collective action @airvent. Some people just aren’t capable of it, or of understanding it.

That’s why you don’t set aside the rules or the spirit of them, because you care about other people. Society, community, collective.

    I’m just a snowflake.

@orangespyderman how is the helm coil? Have seen the original on offer and they are just releasing a helm mark 2 I think.

Not had any issues with it, although it is not much different to my previous bike and I am not riding anything mega steep.

I’ve seen comments about Commencal’s geo measurements being out as they quote using a shorter fork. However, with tape measure and angle finder they seem spot on to me when measuring myself.

Bought the commencal (race edition). Only got a few rides on it and still getting used to it. Have put a CCDB inline coil on it and the rear is mega for 130mm. Not sure about the Pike up front but still fiddling with it. Bike is shorter than my bird which is taking a little getting used to. I was torn between a large and XL but wanted to try a bike with a little less reach and 29er. Apart from the shock I haven’t needed to change anything else on the bike which is well specced. Interrupted seat tube is a little annoying as had long dropper on the bird and only 150 on the meta.

As stated above the bike is built like a tank. Very heavy and this is a little noticeable climbing compared to the bird, although the seated climbing position is really nice.

As I say still getting used to the bike and I am far from any sort of riding guru TBH, so the limitations are mainly mine rather than the bike. Will post back in a few weeks when I have more time on it.

Anybody think quality has dropped since Adidas takeover? Pair of freerider pros and the pins have eaten through the soles in less than 6 months (inc. no lockdown riding). Bought a new pair in the recent sale and they just feel a bit cheaper.

Agree with the above re grip though.
