Selle SMP TRK. Ugly but comfy, and I’ve not changed it yet which is a good sign 😉

    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=23428

I had a Charge Spoon before this. Initially I found it real comfy, but didn’t get on with it after a weeks commuting (spose I should sell it!).

Is pack size important to you? (i.e. you shoving it in a rucksack or car camping?).

I’ve got a Snugpak Softie Chrysalis Autumn which is used all year round. It’s small, light-ish, warm, fairly cheap.

The silk liner is probably the best option if you want to use it all year around (i.e. 2-3 season bags are probably what you want, then use the liner + extra clothing in winter).

Hows your diet? You are what you eat and all that – might be worth trying to tweak & improve it?

But more because I love the chick in it 😳

Anyone know how effective those masks are?

I think they do a good job – lots of people with asthma comment on how they improve things.

I’ve was certainly blowing out black stuff from my nose before I used one (not coughing it up mind). They also have an added benefit in cold weather – it’s a bit nasty breathing cold air, and that problem goes away with them.

I’ve gone through numerous saddles trying to fix problems down below.

I’ve now settled on this ugly beast

Saddles are a personal thing though, you either have to get lucky, try loads, or try and get some professional fitting.

The less I do, the less I want to do

This is a horrible trap that I tend to find myself in.

But the opposite is also true. The more you get out ‘n about, the easier it becomes – at least for me.

I can’t really offer any advice on your job or relationship, but you probably need to concentrate on getting yourself in a good state of mind before you can fix any those issues. One step at a time, try ‘n find something that you like doing that’s easy, and do it more. This might be going for a walk, a run, taking in the scenery – fresh air is good for you 🙂

I’d say bike ride, but even I find that a faff sometimes 😉

Alfine crankset and the bloody chainring just hits the chainstay.

The stock build comes with the same crankset, and it runs real close to the chainstay – about 1mm.

I’ve got various scratches where it’s touched.

I’ve queried this before, but decided against doing anything about it – you could probably make use of some shims, but that might affect the chain line.

In anycase, been running mine for about a year and it hasn’t caused any problems.

*edit – just noticed you fixed the issue – what was it out of interest?

Might not be allowed, got to cover ‘n all that 🙁

Supposedly the managers have been discussing it quite a bit 😕

I found cx300’s pretty poo. I’ve had 3 pairs (from play.com) ‘n they all broke – the wires seem rather flimsy.

Having said that, read the reviews ‘n everyone says they are great (as above really), so perhaps I was just unlucky.

I now use Ultimate-Ears-MetroFi-220 which are excellent.

I tried some of this stuff.

    http://www.wiggle.co.uk/for-goodness-shakes-recovery-powder-24x80g/

Tastes good and after a few shakes it’s ready to drink.

I used it for a few months when I started commuting as I got tired, but to be honest I wasn’t all that sure whether it worked or not – other people give it good reviews though, so it can’t be too bad.

Piedi, when you start easing back into it, I can recommend the McDavid ankle straps (lace up ones). I wore mine for a few months after badly spraining my ankle, and it did a good job 🙂

Think there was a thread on this a while back, so worth checking for additional recommendations.

Most people I know have Yonex rackets. The Armortec (which I have) or Nanospeed range are good and have some for around £20-£30.

Shoes ‘n shuttles make the biggest difference for me mind 🙂

I went for drops ‘n discs.

I never ride down on the drops, but vary hand positions on the hoods. People say you can achieve the same with flats + barends, though I’ve never tried.

To be honest, the nearer I get into the City, the more stop/start I am, and I’d probably prefer flats at that point, then I don’t have to adjust myself to get nearer the brakes.

My main gripe with the Roadrat is the tektro discs they come with (if you go for them). Much prefer the feel of avids – wish they would offer that option.

Do you know if evans use citylink?

I’ve placed a web order from wiggle, and evans on the 25th dec, and no delivery yet. Obviously it’s christmas time and all, but CRC got a delivery to me no problem, and that was only ordered 3 days ago 🙂

Gosh you are a bit late on it 😉

It’s a great game, with quite a twist later on.

I really really enjoyed it, played it multiplayer for a while too.

Oh – and if you want all the achievements your’ll have to do some quite sick ‘n twisted thing 😀

Not played it for several months though as I’ve been hooked on Bad Company 2 (now the Vietman mod!).

It’s ok, but I quite like Win7 these days.

My ubuntu build is a bit smegged on my laptop. There’s no boot up screen (it’s just black), and half the time it reboots during this ‘black screen’ phrase, the other half it seems to spend ages doing something (prolly fscking).

I’ve got bored of having to search the net to fix silly things like this.

Mind you, it’s great on my desktop and work pc.

About 3000 miles from commuting to/fro work, hardly any off-road / mtb.

I just look at the mtb and it doesn’t inspire me. I don’t live near any great trails, nor do I drive, so cycling with big slow knobbly tires to get anywhere half decent really de-motivates me.

I fitted a KMC last night. Is it just me, or is the ‘MissingLink’ a pain in the ass to remove without tools (unlike the SRAM powerlink).

Cheapo Trekmates are fine – well mine appear to be so.

I’ve never had any breathability issues with them, and they do the job.

If you’re considering commuting on it, then CX bikes are fairly nice – disc brakes ‘n all that for the rain 🙂

Lezyne Pressure Drive Mini Pump 🙂

    Brilliant little thing.

It has a reversible presta/schrader screw hose, which is so much nicer than the push-on ones (I think anyway), plus it’s good for mtb and road.

In our company, software developers often have an opportunity to become project managers after 2 or 3 years – well, those that have good communications skills 🙂

I’ve got about 5 merino tops, and I find 2 of them (howies, craghoppers) to be rather itchy, which puts me off wearing them.

I’ve also got an older howies one which is fine though, and my favourite of the lot 🙂

I think the answer is some are, some aren’t.
