80Ah is the capacity. Ampere hours, so if you had say a 1 amp charger it’ll take 80 hours empty to full (ish), 5 amp ,16 hours, etc. Slow charge is better than fast if you have time and it won’t be empty to full. A cheap simple one is fine. You can also get solar ones that you leave in the car to keep it topped up but I’ve never tried one.

That said I’d look for other issues as to why it is going flat. Dodgy door switch leaving a light on, badly wired stereo, etc. Might just be a tired battery or a faulty alternator. These can be tested

Just had a sale for something listed a while ago. Sold yesterday afternoon, money in my account this morning. No fees. Nice

That a job for a router. You could use a forstner bit in a drill for a flat round hole but it won’t be as nice and you risk damaging the material

Thought I had managed to get tickets to see The Cure, turns out it was actually Placebo

So, for items already live/listed – do we think we’ll still be charged fees for those or would it be best to end and relist to take advantage of the free fees?

Not according to HotUKDeals. Someone on there posted that they’d sold something this morning on an old listing and got all the money

    Ok so no automatic withdrawal

I prefer that. I used to like having “PayPal money” that meant I could have free bike parts using man maths.

I think they make most money from commercial sellers. Maybe they want to move over more private sellers who are actually commercial, maybe it’s just to drive more traffic to the site. There is a huge benefit to being the biggest marketplace

Just been through this. Ended up with a 3 SIM. £10 for one month including 15gb of data.

They will post you a SIM for free or you can pick one up in Tesco or similar for 99p. You then register it and add some credit.

You can do it yourself. It’s is a bit tricky but not that hard. You need to fill out the right form, TP1 iirc, then file it with the land registry. You’ll also need a reasonable drawing of the changes on the correct map (which you can download from the land registry). It is much easier to do in person if there is an office nearby. You both need to go (buyer and seller) and take ID, pay the transfer fee. It was about £40 last time I did it and took about an hour.

Or a solicitor can do it all. Probably not cheap but maybe worth getting a quote.

I looked a NinjaBatt when I replaced mine. Seemed the least worst of the oddly named brands. In the end I found a genuine used one on eBay. Seller claimed it had 90% capacity and it was half the price of a cheap unbranded one so worth a risk. It’s been fine so far and way better than the battery it replaced.

The brown pipe is not uv stable as you say. Just means it fades in sunlight. Not an issue for you.

You can also get adjustable bends you can set to any angle. Eg https://www.toolstation.com/adjustable-bend-110mm/p73512

New valve time. It is possible to DIY but it’s a quick and easy job for a tyre place.

Just won a bet with myself. Torn between Hope seat clamp or Thompson seat post before opening the thread. Did guess the right winner.

As above salsa seat clamps are the best although anything is better than Hope. You can make them work with some cleaning and greasing but better to go for something else.

Getting everyone involved will be near impossible. Are there a few people who border the land that might be keen? It’ll significantly add to the value of their property having a park right next door rather than a derelict site or a house. If it were next to my house I’d be snapping it up even if I had to borrow the money.

Guide prices are usually hopelessly optimistic and as you’ve found there are various fees to add. Usually add 50 to 100% That said I have seen odd plots in unpopular areas go for below guide price.

Worth the effort. All you have to do on the day is pay a deposit. You usually have 28 days to sort out the final payment and legal stuff. Bit of a gamble, though, if you aren’t ready, but might be worthwhile if you are close.

go old school. tape it off the radio :)

It’s very easy to extract music from YouTube. Loads of websites to do it. Paste in the YouTube address and out pops an mp3

Stick em on your phone, play it in the car

For fitness running helps. Pairs nicely with having a dog and doesn’t add much time. Get up, throw on some shorts and a t-shirt, 5k slow run with the dog with a few stops, back home, shower and dressed. We foster rescue dogs and they love jogging. It’s the perfect pace to keep them focused and way better for their joint health than chasing balls and sticks. Works quite well without a dog too.

Do need to come up with a catchy term for jogging with a dog, maybe a portmanteau ;)

What’s worse, lighthearted bickering/banter or posting a ‘I’m too sexy for this thread’ comment?

Definitely the first one. Shame as it’s an important subject, well worth discussing but it is impossible in this thread.

The same half dozen people utterly unwilling to change their minds saying the same thing over and over.

https://wtp2.appspot.com/wheresthepath.htm will show you an OS or OSM map next to an aerial view. Handy for terrain but should give a good idea of fences and gates

but it has highlighted what we want so just got to keep looking.

This is the most important bit. Look at lots of houses, including ones you think are wrong for you. It’ll mean when you see the right house you’ll know straight away. Good houses sell fast so it helps to be able decide quickly. If the house has been on for a while there’s probably an issue somewhere.

Definitely not normal. Never had it happen to any of mine or my friends. Used loads of different brands including cheap ones. Have a couple of lightly used bikes with very old pads, too

Yeah, the lorry access cut a big chunk out of the left hand line but that has been incorporated into the line to add little steep rocky drop. The gully side got very cut up and the start has totally changed. Was there last week, didn’t go down that side but looking at the tracks it’s being well used now.

The aerial views are much improved since I last looked. Even in some quite remote areas.

AC has had quite a bit of work done on it by volunteers led by some of the pedal progression folks. Lots of it is now flowier – all berms and rollers. It’s ok for a quick blast.

LW official trail has been neglected for a long time – it’s a bit cut up but still ok.

Conversely I think AC has been over sanitised. All the rocks and bumps have been smoothed over taking away any roughness. The supernova section used to actually be challenging. I totally understand why they’ve done it given the wide range of users but for me it’s a shame. LW is just about right. Not too cut up and not too smooth. Also the recently logged bit is back in action. Not all of it but there are at least 3 routes down.

Plenty for a day. Ashton Court is a bit dull now but nice enough for a quick lap. Leigh Woods has a slightly more technical official loop then the off piste is properly challenging especially if it’s a bit wet. Steep, rocky, rooty, hairpins, etc. Spent my lockdown there going up and down. It’s quite tricky to find the start but they are on various trail apps. 50 acre is more natural, my favourite. Belmont is the big jumps, some very big, well beyond me. It’s strictly dry weather only, though, but should be ok if this weather holds.

So which others should I watch? And what is your order worst to best ??

Oh and I havent seen Solo yet. So please throw that film into your series list.

Got free 3 months of Disney so I’ve been catching up.

Andor > Mando > Ahsoka > Boba Fett, but Boba Fett really is a part of the Mando set so if you watch series 1 and 2 Mando then Boba Fett, then series 3 Mando it all makes a bit more sense.

If you are time limited just watch series 1 & 2 of Mando and Andor. The other stuff is watchable and worth a look as we all like different stuff, though.

I’d put off watching Solo because of the reviews but I thought it was ok. A fairly decent stand alone film. Perhaps a little bit heavy on the Star Wars gap filling and back story but enjoyable as a Star Wars original trilogy fan.

I’d switch. You can often get a great deal on a drill and battery as they use them as a gateway drug to get you in.

Get a decent brand (cough)Makita(/cough) and there are a huge range of quality tools available at a good price as bare tools

    Recent thread worth a read:

    Cordless tools – Best brand?

Saw the Atherton brothers out for a drink in Machynlleth a while back. They’d cycled in on a couple of Atherton bikes. If it’s good enough for them…

When I last looked it was much cheaper to get a batch done. The best option was places that gave you a volume and then a fixed price for whatever you could fit inside. I see there are some people selling through ebay, might be worth a look. If you are happy to get it done in China then JLCPCB do 3D printing. I’ve used them for PCBs and the quality and service is great and much cheaper for small orders.

Is not drawing it just a “can’t be arsed” issue? It’ll be a thousand times easier if you have a 3D model. You can just upload the model, get a price, order it and wait for delivery, all automated. If you want it drawn then you’ll need to find someone willing, then do a load of back and forth. More time, hassle and money.

Coat makes a big difference. If it covers a bit lower then any trousers are fine. Doesn’t matter if your calves and shins are wet, but wet thighs is less pleasant for walking. Doesn’t need to fully cover, just enough to keep off the worst of it. For heavy weather dog walking I’m in a big coat and wellies, barely any exposed trouser.

Whatever suits the room. Might be better to centre on a doorway or line up with another feature (eg fireplace), but generally not one edge. That said I wouldn’t tile at all, better solutions out there these days.

I do my company accounts on a spreadsheet. It’s pretty easy to set one up. Just pick some suitable columns. Category, company, description, money in, money out, date, extra info, etc.

Easy to add an extra line for each new item. At the end of the year you can total up the in and out columns and arrange everything by the category or date or whatever you need.

Might seem a bit daunting to set one up from scratch but it needn’t be too complicated. You can also tweak as you go and realise you need something slightly different.

You can also use an online spreadsheet so either of you can access it from anywhere and it’s all backed up.

To echo some of the above, it did feel like they were looking for a ride primarily that was good to film and this was a film about them filming it. Great location and lovely scenery, though.

I like the opensess and emptiness of mid Wales. Ride in any direction on any track you find and barely see another person or signs of life. For fun riding south Wales has it though. It is a mixed bag for places to actually live.

You could try to speed them up with threats of legal action. They may be at the mercy of their suppliers so can’t do much but they might be waiting on a bigger order to ship stuff over. I’d maybe start with a sterner reply saying end of Oct isn’t good enough and can they do better.

I’d also look at practical solutions. Can the incorrect door be modified to work, at least in the short term?

AIUI If you earn over £6725 then you’ll pay enough NI to count as a full year. Less than that and it may be worth topping up to get the full benefit (usually, but not always, you need to do the sums for your circumstances)

    https://www.gov.uk/national-insurance/how-much-you-pay

If your profits are £6,725 or more, your Class 2 contributions are treated as having been paid to protect your National Insurance record.

You may be able to pay voluntary contributions to avoid gaps in your National Insurance record if you:

have profits of less than £6,725 a year from your self-employment

I’d check the alternator first, it’s easy if you have a multimeter (and if you don’t have one then get a cheap one)

There could be something draining the battery. It’s often lights from a dodgy door switch but this is usually fairly obvious. Modern cars have loads of stuff that stays on making it harder to track faults

If you over scroll, ie get to the top of the page and keep moving your finger down, then the browser will refresh. Not sure if you can turn this off on your phone. If you are scrolling then scroll slowly, if you do hit the top then you can cancel the refresh by sliding your finger back up before you release
