UPDATE: parcel delivered. I have to collect it from a mailroom at work but i believe its here. I didn’t receive a RM ‘out for delivery’ email as i have had before, but the previous DMC tracking i followed above gave me all the updates on its progress. Provided I can rescue it from our mail room i would say that’s a decent service, as expected in 4 working days, for free. The ‘tracking code’ supplied to me is a misnomer but i wouldn’t be surprised if that is amended soon.

So CRC have lied when they said it had been dipatched.
Time to pull the plug on these cowboys.

I would’t be so hasty there, no one is “lying”- it’s entirely normal for a retailer to notify a dispatch (via email for instance) before it enters the courier/postal service system. Seen that dozens of times, my orders always follow that pattern- a non issue. Tracking info that doesn’t check out IS an issue that needs sorting however, that seems sloppy and was the thrust of my original post.

That wasn’t broadcast when I heard him taking on 5live earlier this morning. They played him saying “I was asked a question, and I said no” that’s all I heard- if he confirmed it was a man elsewhere then I haven’t seen it so far casually following the story.

It was just a feeling I had about his comments, I don’t really give a shit about Tom Jones or this train wreck of a story tbh. Was just an idle observation.

I’m not doubting the sincerity of his claim, and if Sir Tom was a victim then that’s a tragedy- regardless of how severe the conduct in question, BUT there’s a difference between “a question” and people coming out and stating they were raped.

And I agree with the above comment regarding the perpetrator- oddly my interpretation of his spoken comments were that it was a man who propositioned him. Not sure why I thought that but there you go.

Stick your DMC style tracking numbers into the “DM Consignment Code” box and then hit “find consignment”. You should probably then be able to click on “Visit tracking site” to get to the royal mail site.

Seems to work for the three orders I’m waiting on from them at the moment.

that search threw up a traditional ‘GB’ royal mail code, and indeed its showing on the RM system. Received this morning at a ‘national distribution centre -7:14am’

presumably there’s a loop to close with their distribution where normal tracking codes are not generated, and in their place are the DMC ones… hmm.

1 week for one of the parcels to be delivered and 8 days for the other.

careful putting it in more carefully is impossible, one time i can get it in fine, the next it doesnt quite lift up enough, then the frame moves in the car and bam, its bent the whole front of it

impossible? I dont know what car you have- i just have a family hatchback- but I’ve never had an issue with the FR bending to the point where I’ve considered buying a different version. I tend to but the bike in rear first, laying flat, D/side up, and prop the fork off the boot floor with something. I always make sure the bike cant move before setting off. I’ve not tried the shorty but the FR coverage particularly at the front is great, can’t imagine the shorty would be an improvement given that its…shorter. Sounds like you might need to spend 10 minutes learning how to put your bike in properly. and just do it that way everytime..

Well I’ll keep ppl posted on the outcome. I haven’t paid for expedited delivery so I’ll see when it turns up. Not really bothered but found the tracking info odd that’s all… I’m not a frequent CRC buyer these days but the last few items I’ve bought over the last 18months/2 years have all arrived in a timely fashion and I’ve never had an issue so far.

It’s interesting hearing others experiences but if I’m honest the peak for CRC that I remember was 10 years ago- that seemed to be a golden period of almost instantaneous delivery and keen prices. I still find them cheapest for a lot of components, YMMV… if anyone has experience of the odd tracking number thing then let me know.

Are you using the link from CRC as that may go to whatever courier system they’ve used for that order, in case it’s not actually RM?

yeah, im looking via the email link and via he web/orders page. i would assume its RM given the above..

^^^^That i believe will be royal mail 1st or 2nd class tracked. It’s not really a tracking number, by tracked they refer to the texting service etc. rather than being able to track it, is very much still post not a courier service.

12 characters, starts DMC.. the only numbers are 0 and 4 and it doesnt end with GB which is what i am used to. RM tracking numbers are typically 13 characters iirc.

until recently I was using a black Halo combat 24″ rear I bought new in 2013 on my Big Hit. I still have it + a new old stock 24 High roller i bought as a spare last year. Cheap but v tough. Used Halo stuff for years and never had an issue. Now running 26″ so its gathering dust..

Edit: you can still find them new for £80/90. Trendz do them.
