what about one of the bike covers you can get for storing bikes outside. Theyre pretty cheap. Personally id go the tarp route.

I cant see how that is possible. Ive never bought an item and not been given an option or choice to leave negative feedback..

EDIT : sorry, was looking from buyers POV there! doh! as you were

As for feedback on buyers, it may as well be removed as only positive feedback can be left.

    8O

really? that’s news to me regarding ‘only positive feedback can be left’

    How is that possible then?

A comment pointing out a pointless comment can’t possibly be a pointless comment as it has a point. The point being the pointless comment it pointed out

get to the point will you

I bet most of them use the phone their face is glued to 24 hrs a day anyway.

    there you go.

glad to help. look at it this way, if a shop assistant made an unsolicited remark about how i was paying for whatever reason then.. they’d get an earful and I’d not shop there again. Its nice to be nice!

I must admit I’m with DezB, If they’ve just won the auction then surely they can pay up. Within 24hrs isn’t unreasonable if they’ve bid on something?

Why is there an assumption that they are sat there waiting for the auction to end? I’ve won countless auctions and not been there the minute it ends- and latterly sometimes days later paid. Ebay is different now to the old days and ppl have a million reasons they may not be there the minute an auction ends. If this is a buy it now transaction then this is a different issue, to which immediate payment could be reasonably expected.. You’re going to have a rough ride on ebay if you get this annoyed about it so soon, dont sweat it and lay out some purchase terms. Been using ebay since 2001 btw, never had a shitty remark from a seller after waiting 2/3 days to pay. If someone did, id never look at them again. life is too short for that kind of bs frankly.

    yeah… agree with GaryM

don’t waste your time giving catty remarks in eBay feedback. If they pay up in under 7 days, its a win. Try stipulating your terms in the buyer information if you’re new or a nervous ebay seller. “paypal only, postage only upon payment within 48hrs of purchace” something like that. Just leave a nice generic reply and get on with it “thanks for the purchase- smooth transaction, thanks !” etc. Be nice and do give feedback. It takes seconds and I always find it shitty when someone doesn’t. If they refuse to pay/timewaste = negative feedback, and report buyer. everything else, neutral or positive. a 48hrs wait is acceptable tbh.

all this BS about building homes yet again but nothing on the scam of leasehold extortion? what about me and millions of others in a first time new build home now burdened with this criminal system? no **** given? Pull your finger out of your arse May and get it sorted cheers.

You’d think Mondraker would look for someone good to replace Danny.

would you say that to Macdonald’s face? not sure i would.

Yes, ebay will charge you £3.05 once you’ve used the label. You need to actually put it on your parcel then take it to the post office and get it scanned, otherwise it’s just a barcode on a piece of paper

right… I see now. The printing and sticking-on-bit I was sure on..David lol It’s not entirely clear that the charge occurs at the point of post office scanning/processing (it says nowhere this is how the transaction occurs), and suggests to me at least, that this charge is for generating the label alone. Which thought seemed a bit rich.

Can I safely assume then that this cost then IS the generated returns postage cost (£3.05 in my case) and I WONT be charged on top? Is this the method ebay uses now to automatically generate return shipping costs?

    nickhit3

its charged to the seller (i say this an eBay seller who offers free returns within 30 days)

hmmm, ok. it is indeed 30 day return you’re right. The free part im not sure about.. I’ve clicked on the print label button TWICE in order to see it and now have the pdf label… it states clearly “you will be charged £3.05 if you use this label” but no transaction information or dialogue tells me im being charged.

so the £3.05 to print this label IS my return postage paid?

VERDICT: so the item arrived sooner than expected so I tried it out- off the bike but with my typical gear on. I was surprised at how little protection and rigidity the guard had and more concerning for me, how much movement it had when worn over a typical DH Jersey. It does what it is advertised for (I would imagine) but not really what I had in mind for it.. I also wear a pack which has a ‘parachute’ style harness as opposed to a rucksack style pack and although it offered a slightly more stable pack experience.. it was at the expense of comfort in a big way. Not for me. I think I’d rather take my chances.

Even without a pack, this particular model has nothing to stop it riding up the torso- an issue that obviously would be a problem regardless in any crash. Just instinctively didn’t feel right. I’d rather have the flexibility up top than the rigidity and slightly cumbersome feel. I think there may be some legitimate protection afforded but at the expense of comfort.. hmmm… thanks for the replies guys. Confirmed most of the points raised. Now to arrange the postal return..

had two pairs of sound magic e10’s as others mentioned. both failed in 18 months. as with the previous 4/5 pairs of senn cx300’s, they don’t last in my experience. love the sound magic sound, though the durability annoys me – normal daily usage commuting etc. guess im just hard on them! Must be all that s club7.

Thanks Northwind, very true the certification I checked on said the same- worth pointing out to others who may find this thread. I wondered if they truly were better than nothing (i would assume so..) but if the negatives outweigh that in use as some suggest. I ride with a pack that has a built in protector so the two items may not play nicely in terms of fit. I’ll report back when one arrives to try out.

ta for the replies so far. I suspect STW isn’t the core of riders who may wear chest guards but i could be wrong! Certainly seen them gaining coverage in the MTB press with a few enduro pro’s even sporting them though.

Interesting cheers. For the record, I always ride with a pack (incl protector) and never particularly bothered about a sweaty back. Certainly not enough to ruin any ride. Undoubtably though, riding without is great.

as an outspoken critic of gun violence and legislation, this is pure Spinal Tap. I happen to think hes a great artist, I’m not a huge fan of his output but he played a big part in continuing the bogey man rock star in the modern era. Owes a lot to Alice Cooper etc.

He comes across very well in the interviews I have seen.

PS: FWIW ironically i JUST this minute bought a chest protector online having never worn one before in 17 years riding, having narrowly escaped some rib damage in a recent off which as I understand… is REALLY painful. Sprinter2139, glad you’re back on it. sounds like a horrible off :?

I may have witnessed the event.
Was the bin fixed-wing or variable-sweep?

I’m pretty sure, had you seen the bin crash you’d have concluded it wasn’t a pedal bin, since, you know, it fell over.

Now I’ll accept that not seeing them hit the bin is no guarantee it’s a wheelie, but if you’re going to be deliberately obnoxious, at least be correct and obnoxious.

People richer than me shouldn’t buy such nice bins if they can’t afford to maintain them.

my my, how are the views up there in your ivory tower? i cant even. the bin was a gift if you must know.
