MOJO Suspension have these….OEM RL model too.

Fox are no longer offering 32 Vanillas so i'd say get some whilst you can as they're the best 140mm coil forks out there IMO.

Marko: In riding some of those fireroads you must of passed so much good stuff without realising, i'm gutted for you. It's all very well saying you don't go to the Alps to use a guide but the fact remains you simply won't find most, if not all, the best trails and, believe me, there are alot in the Les Arc area. Oh well, next time hey?!

As for hardtails there, having had to use my mine around MBR yesterday i can safely say that it's full-sus all the way when to comes to the Alps! Fair play to anyone who rides a hardtail on those trails at those speeds.

Which climb hora? The one towards the end or the one before Gomez?

Assuming you're not trolling Marko….your biggest mistake was not hiring a guide. There's a bloody good reason everyone says to get one.

    HTH.

Only been M+S for 3 years but they're by far the cheapest we've found that offer the cover for our collection of bikes, home and abroad.

Thats just under contents insurance though.

Loddrik: Falseteeth has had a revamp with some fast, smooth berms and jumps added including the 'Cavity'; a bombhole with a paved transition into it and a jump into a right hander on the other side. No idea what the old version was like but it was good fun.

I turned left at the bottom of Falseteeth, then left again to climb up and join the Dragons Back (pushed up Morticia) for the rest of the way.

I got away with a dry and, at times, sunny ride around MBR this morning. Slashed it down as i left though.

It was fine yesterday, the only wet bit was down to the bridge after turning off (by the standing stones) the double track. Bloody MX'ers have churned several bits up nicely too 👿

    Parked here….

Stu: I was just getting a Streetmap link for you. I rode clockwise from the car which is probably the best way round as the first few switchbacks on the first climb make for a fun end to the ride. Plus the first few km's after that have a nice flow to them which you wouldn't get going anti-clockwise.

I give up….won't even play properly during the day (usually very quick around here!).

Just got back from an unplanned trip to North Wales. Did Pont Scethin yesterday afternoon and MBR with additions this morning. The revised Falseteeth section was great fun (have no idea what the old section was like though) and the 'Cavity' was a hoot!

I added a few sections of Dragons Back into the route to make it abit more interesting.

Ton: Did you do that as a means of getting to Pont Scethin? If so what were ground conditons like around Pont Scethin? I fancy doing it tomorrow afternoon whilst on a flying visit to Snowdonia.

Well, according to Mojo the answer is no in regards to my 2010 Fox Float RL FIT forks when i sent them back under warranty.

They did replace the uppers though….no idea why????

You might want to actually state in your first post that you WERE using UST rims and tyres, that way people won't jump to conclusions (which they love to on here!).

You just had too low pressure for your weight, thata all. A proper UST set-up is great IMO.

Considering you need pliers or the correct tool to normally remove them i would suggest a plastic valve cap is unlikely to do that!

Whats wrong with spending £70 on shorts? I bought a pair of Sombrio Highlines for that much, best fitting shorts ever! Long but not baggy and no stupid pockets. I liked them so much i bought a second pair (in a sale though). In fact i have several shorts at around that price, come to think of it.

Then again, i'll happily spend £100 on a pair of jeans!

I sold an 2007 Orange 5 on here last year for £1250 as i recall. Specced with Fox 32 Van R 15QR, SLX gears/shifters/cranks and DT E540/Hope wheels.

After finishing the Whites Level climb, turn right onto the fire road and follow that until you see another fire road dropping down the hill to your right. Take this and look out for the right hand turn (should be marked with marker post 66). This leads to the start of Deadwood and then the rest of Skyline descent.

There's also some trails down from Murren village itself down to the other end of the LB valley (where the other cable car is). Supposed to be pretty good.

There must be some great trails down from Murren into the Lauterbrunnen valley, although making sure you avoid those enormous cliffs of course!!!

There's a great traversing walk from First to the Schynige Platte railway, probably good for riding out of season too i suspect.

Woohoo! I love the Berner Oberland…those photo's made me smile alot. we had a chalet near Gstaad. I have such great memories of the area. I took my girlfriend (now wife) on our first holiday to Murren and she loved it and we've been back a couple of times but not since getting into MTB.

We have plans for a road next year which will include Lenzerheide and on into Graubunden with any luck.

EIDT: Just rememered i'll be back there in 2 weeks! Going for a long weekend in Kandersteg and then onto Champery for the DH World Cup!

DT Swiss RWS is one and Superstar components do one as well.

EDIT: NC-17 also do one (from CRC).

I can't comment on Morzine but i have ridden the Les Arc area which i think is rockier than the Portes Du Soleil.

I was running Mavic XM317 on Pro2 and my wife DT Swiss 4.2 on Pro2. No bent rims or broken spokes between us but a few pinch flats.

As for tubeless, i'll be running Rubber Queen 2.2 UST on XT UST rims so at least i shan't get any pinch flats this year. Our guide uses Maxxis UST tyres on DT 5.1 rims with no problems. As i recall him mentioning, he had no punctures last season.

I suspect either wheels will be fine.
