I’ve gone back, but mainly because its a pain to get the seatpost out to get the bike in the car with the dropper attached.
Just rebuilding my full suss and will be reinstalling it and taking the hard tail with fixed post if I can’t be arsed to stick a bike on the roof!

Thought it was worth pointing out – I never thouht about it before buying one but I find it a massive pain really as if there is enough slack in the cable to remove the post it flaps everywhere whilst dropped, and the cable gets knackered very quickly where it enters the head with constant taking on and off the bike. I will end up with a non remote post eventually but I’m tight and they’re just not as good.

Grab the dark and white peak book off amazon. £25 for both and a lot of good stuff is in there.

Yeah I liked the idea of the slide but I couldn’t find a decent priced one set to 100mm and with 15mm qr in white :-(

The idea is it should be simple to change travel but having to buy a damper tool and a press? Much rather just strip the air shaft and bung in/out a spacer like my other RS forks! Can easily see the hammer and punch method i’d be using causing problems…!

I’m not sure mud clearance is really an issue… You see a lot of people complaining about it stopping them buying one. I’ve never seen anyone who actually rides one bringing it up when used with sensible tyres? I’m planning 1×10 so front mech clearance no issues.

If someone offered me insurance for £701 I’d bite their hand off.
£1000 a year, 11 years no claims crashes or convictions on a sodding ford focus kept in a locked underground private car park with CCTV.

    Yay for a Birmingham postcode….

Yeah it’ll start life as 32t front 36t rear 1×10 as those are the newest bits in the spares box!
Are the wider bars a noticeable difference? I was going to run another pair of 685 flats as that’s what I’m used to and like with a 50mm stem (large frame).

Best get on the phone to cotic and see when their large duck eggs are coming in…. And looks like having a bit of a mooch online the corsas aren’t as adjustable as they might seem to be, apparently CRC’s adjustable via spacers actually means changing a couple of components so I’m hoping I can find some new old stock dual air rebas.

Stuff looks cool, but I don’t get the first line of the site intro. Beer and bicycles, 2 things that don’t normally go together.

I think she’s missing something, the 2 are like hand in glove – I don’t think I’ve ever had a day on the bike with mates that’s not involved beer at some point!

Tip. Every American knows we Brits invented manners so you could just point out that tipping is the correct way to finish a bag of crisps (also, whilst educating do point out that they’re crisps, not chips) and they should soon come round.

Everything from canal paths, to Cannock, to blue/red/black trail runs, natural peaks stuff etc. This bike is going to be more aimed at XC stuff though as first post, but who knows it might be up being used for all of the above if I get on with it. Currently ride a c456 at 120mm which has meant my full suss hasn’t even been looked at in the past 12 months, if the Solaris is as capable as that but a bit less harsh and a better climber I can see it becoming a one bike for everything. C456 is great ridden downhill but I find it a pig on ups and XC stuff. Probably touching 90kg ATM given the nights are drawing in and I’ve moved back to bitter :-D

Hmm.. Mixed opinions as I thought! That’s why I really want something I can run 100/120 with minimal faff to change over as I can see both options appealing.

Anybody got any thoughts on the zocchi corsa sl’s? Can’t even buy the bike yet as not in stock but tempted to pick the forks up as they’re pretty cheap, and less than rebas which I’d then need to buy another air shaft for to change travel.

    Jaffa cakes?

Oh dear. The lowly jaffa cake, confused about it’s identity – not a cake, not a biscuit and rubbish at being either! Yuk! :x They really should put it out of it’s misery and finish it off…

Shortbread, on the other hand….. :D

I’ve never had many problems on my own. As soon as I tag along with another group it always kicks off… The other day cycling round brum I tagged on to the back of a few other riders, didn’t want to go past I thought it was a bit rude so I said hello and sat behind them ( a little bit back so as not to sit on their wheels, which probably didn’t help things). In the mile that followed before I turned off I had no end of beeps from cars behind desperately trying to get past, dodgy overtaking manoeuvres trying to squeeze in between us etc. culminating in a very irate pickup driver who drove past after sitting on the horn filming me and mouthing off.

Now I’m the first person to realise when I’m in the way, but my gps never dropped below 25mph apart from up a hill which was a priority single way anyway and this was at 6pm in the middle of Birmingham! I really don’t get it… Yes fine grumble about it on a longer road when you’ve got a peloton in front of you holding you up but in the middle of a busy city why do drivers insist on getting to the next set of lights first? It’s like seeing multiple cyclists is instant red mist!

    And breathe. Rant over!

My use shim was a fiver from winstanleys same size as yours. If you can’t get one I’d sell mine as not using it since changing frames?

I’d go 13″ air. I’d love a MBP retina but much prefer the low weight of my air, and the all day charge on the new one’s really good. Anyway that’s all been said… I’m only really chirping up about the office question. I have o365, and outlook web access is fine in the cloud and you can access the office365 portal easily enough but you can’t run the cloud versions of office (word/excel) on a mac.

If you’re on one of the E plans with office installation rights then you get a licence to install the current mac version (2011 now) on 5 machines just as you do with a windows licence. However I don’t think you can chop and change i.e. have office 13 on 3 windows machines and office 11 mac on 2 macs.

Also if its business use create a business account and you should get a bit of discount.

Giant contact switch? Mines done about 18 months and not a problem aside from occasional strip and lube. You’ve also got those sub £100 ones xflo or something.

Yesterday’s thread you started on the subject was worded better, saying cheated by x in capitals on the front page is a bit harsh, might have been worth checking the warranty with regards to shimming the frame first.
I run a 30.9 to 31.6 shim which on one are fine with as long as its 100mm, but i think running 27.2 to 31.6 sounds like too much IMO. Not that I know anything about it, but I can see having 2mm each side of the post causing excess play and stress unless it extended well down below the top tube join and bottom of seatpost.

I was tempted to buy a load and eBay them but couldn’t be bothered in the end. 5 coming so will see if they fit, if not £2.50 each? ;-)

Cost me £60.50 though cos there was a hope bb sat in the basket as well that I’d forgotten about.

Depends what you want but those mini jack USB leads are quite cool and work well if you have enough power to the USB. I’d vote guitar port though, small and will cope with vocals but not really cheap. Great bit of kit though, mine always travels with me and my Steinberger headless guitar so I can turn hotel rooms into home :-)

eBay a Roland micro cube and you’re sorted!

You just adjust the discount to allow for the offer if its being shared between them.

The rep sells and you invoice at (75-7.5)/100 which would be 67.5% or 32.5% off the rrp.

That way on an item for £100 the rep normally earns £25, if he sells for £85 the rep would be invoiced for £67.50, making £17.50 instead of £25. This way you share the discount.

Just invoicing the discounted amount at 25% commission would earn them £21.25 so you can see they are forfeiting a bit of margin to share in the discount promotion.

Edit… Beaten to it. Stupid tablet typing! Others make the point that the way your proposing isn’t very fair on the rep by sounds of it but it depends on the margin that is on the product, if its costing 50% of RRP or higher then its the best way to do it, otherwise your rep is making more than you on the product!

I’ve got one and like above its not great for heating the airing cupboard. Pipe work is the warmest bit so normally dries clothes a bit faster but only if you put a few in. Gret shower though :-)

Hmm hadn’t thought of the spider catching the chain. I’ve got a 32t works thick thin to try out so that might kill the idea. Off to hunt out some tech docs then to try and get the sizes. Thanks

I’ve got a 1st/5500 at Cannock, but I’m pretty sure it’s a glitch even though the routes accurate and I was going pretty quick… ;-) ill take it though!

Currently got a 1st/59 on a climb/descent on the road bike, and a few top 3s in sections around Birmingham. Every time I get one normally I lose it to a bloke called Justin!

That’s quite possibly the coolest looking road bike I’ve seen.

Struggling to find fault with the brickwork/pointing/drive etc as well, you could have at least shot it next to a dodgy fence panel to give us something to pick fault with cause I can’t find anything on the bike!

Finally cleaned mine last weekend after deciding black slime everywhere wasn’t that healthy.
Has been rank for months but I haven’t died yet!

I’ve been pointed in the direction of http://www.amazon.co.uk/VWP-Cleaner-Steriliser-400g-Tub/dp/B001PQSNAW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376603928&sr=8-1&keywords=Vwp which I’m going to give a go. Apparently the home brew steriliser is better than miltons and leaves no aftertaste?

What does everyone have against Ae? I’ve heard loads of bad things about it but I loved it…

Do the locals regularly turn the wayposts the wrong way round or something? ;-)

Looks ace. I’m not there yet, tidying up the bike room on the weekend and amongst other things just lying around I had 2 frames, 7 tyres, 1 shock, 2 prs forks, 3 front mechs, 2 sets of brakes, a spare pair of wheels and numerous tools i’ve used once. I’m still not happy with the bike!

No-one told me biking was a money pit ;-)

Yeah it used to be that you could choose who pays the fees. Now they’ve removed the option so the seller always pays. You have to work it out yourself, usually it’s 3.4% min charge 20p.

My view is the same as Matt’s above…

Yeah i’m not expecting much having looked at them! Although having said that a lot of people slate the old sidewalls on the heavier versions but mine are just starting to go after 12 months, the tell tale x’s are forming but to be fair the treads are shot so they’ve done their time.

Although I don’t run tubeless so the sidewalls aren’t as much of an issue for me, and 35f/40r pressures is going to put a lot less strain on the walls than 25psi tubeless.
