Had the same thing last week – screw through tyre, dropped it of at National just down the road from the office and they fixed it free of charge. They also put me 2 new ones on a few weeks ago – they had what I wanted in stock and it was done within 30 minutes of me phoning for a quote, looked online and they were cheaper than black circles.

Top service from those lads, they’ll be having my business from now on. I’d give em a shout if there’s a branch near you but they may not all be as good.

I use a vango banshee 200 for that purpose, ok it’s a little bit bigger than you might like and the porch isn’t great for cooking in the rain unless it’s blowing away from the opening, but i couldn’t find anything better for less than £100.

Edit: just had a look and probably pretty similar to the solo you mention, that’s a cracking tent for under £30.

I took the unit out yesterday and there doesn’t appear to be aplug for multi changer

Judging by the pics of the one you’re looking out – it seems they are breakout cables, i.e. you unplug the multiplug on the stereo, and then the new wiring loom will have the same male and female ends that go between that and the stereo, passing the car’s feed into it along with the input feed.

You should find something to go with your unit, most will have an aux in or cd changer port that one or those will use. Most likely a cd changer port. Whip it out and look at the back of it.

If not you’ll have to use an fm modulator (not transmitter, they’re rubbish.) connects2 do decent ones. Look at denon also. Had a quick look and it suggests all Nissan radios can cope with a proper connection like the one you’ve posted in your link, it’s fairly easy to install the only tricky bit tends to be finding a switched live on modern cars to power it.

I have a connects2 iPod interface fm modulator sat in a box at home if you’re interested.

We have one in Birmingham :-)
OK, not really a day out in the woods but for a short blast of urban biking they’ve done a pretty fantastic job.

I should get a full refund inc. my original postage fee, correct?
    No.

OP is correct – DSR mean the seller has to refund original postage costs if the entire order is returned. Ebay BIN sellers are not exempt from this.

Who pays the return postage to get the item back to the seller is down to the sellers terms and conditions, if it’s not mentioned the OP is also entitled to claim back the cost of his return postage, although that’s a bit tight ;-)

Not quite got everything, fit and forget but expensive for the space as chances are most of us won’t have a modem without a wifi router built in so the wifi isn’t of massive benefit unless you don’t (or want the extra a.c. speed it supports)

I’ve got a WD live book duo as I wanted a cloud server with raid mirroring with 2tb usable space and time machine capability, was about the same money as time machine but double the storage at 4tb total. Had a couple of niggles with time machine when updating the mac to mountain lion but aside from that it’s been very good. Had to restore once and it was fine. Also bear in mind you can’t back up an iPad straight to time machine as yet.

Nothing wrong with Cannock.. Shiny pebbles only on bits of it and only shiny when wet. (Granted that’s most of the time..)

Some of the best bits nowhere near the marked routes though ;-)

For a first canon, i’d struggle to look past the 600d that amazon have on for £400 with the kit lens, 40mm prime and £30 cashback. Save the bigger stuff to her to grow into.

Yes it’s two models old but perfectly good and for the money you’ll have to look second hand for something newer. First with the flip screen which is great for video use.

I remember watching that at the cinema when it first came out, must have been a good 10 years ago. Was a massive Tarantino fan then.

I had to pay a visit to the facilities half way through, something I’d never done before or since.

Cinnamon-girl, I ordered it and it appeared the next day so pretty quick.

Got its first outing today and I was pretty impressed, I think 4 bikes to one fill is optimistic though. Didn’t wash the bike last weekend and it was absolutely caked in dried on mud, quick rinse, soak in muc off and wash had it clean. Made short work of cleaning up post ride as well, emptied the tank though on two washes. Reckon a proper slick and span clean would need one tank per bike.

Seems really well put together, decent battery and fittings. Pressure is good, I wouldn’t call it a pressure washer like a regular mains one but there’s enough grunt there to shift muck pretty easily without feeling like every bearing is emptying itself of grease.

hip and cool tuka tuka tuka (Austin Powers)

Well based on that description i’d probably suggest the Jester Bar…. ;-)

Joking aside broad street really is becoming a proper hateful dive, for something similar but less full of fighty 18 year olds who can’t hold their drink i’d say wandering down to the arcadian area via pubs on the way you think look good would be a good shout. There’s some great little places if you explore, spud face mentions a few above i’d add the post office vaults to that list.

If you really want to add the broad st. fix do it sat in the Tap & Spile until silly o’clock after a night out. Just remember to get in before the ‘lock’!

Edit: That’s a new one for the swear filter..

As above, I don’t think you can beat premier inn for the money if you can get a good deal. Brindley place one good. I’ve stayed in a few of them before never found one of these £29 deals though!
Round there it’s all much of a muchness. We always used to stay in one of the many hotels on Hagley road and there were some right dives…

Since moving to the middle of brum, I’ve been on broad street a handful of times and hate it, there’s much better around. You’ll probably find a cheap room in jury’s inn if you want to be right on top of the action. Novotel again cheapish, both around £50-60 a night. If there’s a few of you you could try an apartment, there’s one by me called city nites which you can get a 2 bed for around £100 normally, by the time you’ve used beds, sofas and chucked a couple of airbeds down you’ll get a few in and it works out quite cheap.

Pretty sure you have to change the air spring to adjust travel, the red spacers are tokens to adjust the spring rate. That’s what mine came with.

    And yes, post mount.

I’m 6’2 32″ leg and have frames from 20-22″. I have a 19″ stumpjumper that is far too small. Most comfy bike for long rides is a 21.5″ specialised ht. I go more on the ETT than anything else, stand over definitely secondary to me I bash my undercarriage on most of my bikes feet flat on the ground!

Well i’ve taken the plunge, dropping £200 on a pressure washer hurts but hopefully it’ll be worth it, i’ve needed one for a while & want a cordless one. Not faffing about with a garden sprayer – i’ve tried those and they don’t do the job really.

Dropped them an email and pretty much everything seems to be available as spares so hopefully will have a decent lifespan. Will post up a bit of feedback when it turns up.

Yeah found that thread – not many people seem to have actually splashed! It is a lot of cash just to keep bikes clean, but i’d rather have something proper, not leaky etc as i’ll get a lot of use out of it and it’ll live in the car quite a bit. You’d have thought they’d give a longer warranty on them but if the service is good that’s a bonus, parts seem to be a bit of a problem with mobi’s.

Got 2 in the office, hp 8600 plus all in one and an Epson sx something or other.
Never got the Epson to work properly wirelessly, and it’s not that reliable plugged in either…

The HP is fantastic, works like a charm. I really like the fact I can print to it remotely too, I can do work in the morning print things from home knowing they’ll be on my desk when I get in the office.

Skype good if you have a tablet or smartphone and reliable internet, yes you need a device and it should be ok on hotel wifi but I find it’s not great, laggy calls and video normally. I thought I’d use mine more abroad but I fall back on a local phone still. I don’t need to ‘see’ anyone though, which you may do.

If you have a spare unlocked phone bear in mind it may well be cheaper and easier to get a local SIM card for it with an international calling card. Depends where you are obviously but about £20-£25 should see you for a good few hours calling home, which is likely less than the hotel wifi for a week!

Gorgeous, up to the point where they put the brake calipers on opposite sides and painted them yellow to make it really obvious. That annoys me!

I think I saw one on the M40 the other day, it was dark and the car was covered in chequerboard but definitely had the right rear light profile for an F type coupe.

Riding in the evening is my favourite time of day, prefer midsummer when I can leave the house at 8 and still get a long ride in and mid winter when there’s no gloop.

No biking buddies for night riding at the moment though so not really been out this year which is upsetting but the ‘what if’ is a bit more serious when an off and busting something could be a big problem solo.

Slow cooker is the friend here.

Bolognese, Chilli, Stew etc, all you do is knock something up in the morning, go for a days riding and come back to a nice supper.

Night out on the tiles, get back and you have whatever is in there with a hunk of bread. No faff cooking when drunk, and when you leave it turned on afterwards it doesn’t matter.

Don’t do it! Yes it’s got more features and i’ve grown used to the looks but the lag really makes it unusable for me.

I’m in the camp of i’d not be upgrading if i’d left it as is, and I reckon the phone would fetch more on the bay if it was IOS6.

Even my ipad mini struggles with it – not to bad for general use but some of the games really struggle and they never used to in 6.

I used to think it was the most bizarre and worst film I’d ever watched.
Then I watched crank 2 (20 mins of it) and realized it actually could get worse..

Always had a bit of a thing for Amy Smart though

Hmm I thought the sticking point would be tyres if the frame would take it.
Really can’t justify another one in the stable so now thinking 2nd hand frame and forks and swapping bits for the winter.

Will 30-35 tyres go on 23c wheels happily or is it new wheels too?
Also assuming the brakes are no go can cx canti style brakes be powered by ultegra road levers? Needs to be a cheap as possible conversion!

Don’t know if you can mirror on your OS, but airplay mirroring would be able to do that. Don’t think 10.6 has airplay though. The new ones don’t come with DVD player so no simple way. I rip them using handbrake and then stick the file in the add to iTunes folder and it sorts itself out.

Ordered mine a couple of weeks ago – Fasttech have emailed me today to say they’re all stuck in HK and trying to re route them through another postal service. 15 day delay.

Lucky it’s only a tester and i’ve got other lights – might be here by next spring!

I’ve got a garmin edge 200 for that, it’s simple, stop starts on movement runs for days (not continual riding) and uploads to strava pretty easily all be it via a PC. It gives far better results than my iphone as far as accuracy goes. Sounds cock on for you and mine was about £70 so not too expensive.

Would say it’s not perfect though – the phone uploads much easier and it finds its signal straight from the front door. The edge 200 takes normally a k or so to sort itself out if I ride out of the door.

Normally your acquiring bank will recommend you a company.
I’ve got a few for different merchant accounts, securitymetrics I use for the main questionnaire and then just bang the certificate across to the other banks needing one.

Costs £12.99 a year I think, just self certify if you’re not putting huge amounts through. If only ‘a few transactions a year’ then you should just fall under basic requirements. You shouldn’t really need any third party involvement but depends on your circumstances.

Sounds reasonable to me. However – i’d just add if you think she’s going to play games get her to pay up front for the quote before you get it into the shop. Last thing you want is to get it done then have her back track and you’re then faced with being out of pocket and the insurance messing you about.

That or put it through her insurance – but if she’s got any sense she’ll just pay for it. Can’t see any claim costing less than £500 in excess and increased premiums these days. I’d say you had the ball well in your court.

You can get ripstop & cordura fabric fairly easily online, google for suppliers.
Sew up whatever shape you want and then tape the seams to waterproof them.

Pretty easy, waterproof and easily repairable.

You’ll need a guide to use the on-one chainring. (Or at least I did, C456, on one stainless chainring, zee mech & slx cranks so very similar to you)

I’ve dropped once since since going to a works thick/thin in about 12 hours of riding. I’m pretty impressed by the setup actually!
