Send a 7 day letter before action. Don’t charge interest as it’s not going to be that beneficial to you and if they can spend that kind of money again it’s a bit shortsighted IMO.

That way they can save face and pay you and blame a clerical error. Job done.
And if they don’t pay, take em to court and charge all the interest you like!

Only if you are returning it for a fault based reason. If you are returning it in your DSR 7 days for a change of mind, then dependent on the retailer’s T&C’s you probably aren’t.

No, if you return it under DSR you are entitled to a refund of delivery charges whatever. It’s the return postage to the supplier that is dependent on the T&C’s.

If I hadn’t used either before or have any feedback on them, I’d buy off the website I liked the look of more!

You need one of these: http://bedandbreakfastnationwide.com/bb-brochure

I’ve stayed at the Barbican B&B before nice enough B&B and decent breakfast, nice walk into York, it’s just outside the city walls.

NHS are very variable, when I did mine (L1/2 compression, not as bad as yours) 3 years ago I went in to the GP after getting back to get a referral for private treatment. GP put a call in to a friend who happened to be a back specialist, got me an appointment the next day, and then due to a cancellation I came out of that appointment and went straight into another one for a body brace.

I was out of the brace and in physio 12 weeks later, back on the bike after about 6 months as I was told not to cycle until it was fully healed as it could cause further issues.

They did admit to me that had I not of dropped lucky with the appointments there would likely have been a 4-6 week wait for the initial examination and a further 4-6 week wait for the brace to be fitted which I thought was mad as that would have put me well on the way to being healed before the brace even went on. Hope yours heals well, and as mentioned make sure you put the work in to get it back up to strength. I didn’t do the physio like I should, and it’s still causing me issues now largely because of that, as the muscles that I needed to build back up to support it aren’t doing their job.

What about outside the box? If you don’t have kids/other people to lug around but want a car/van what about a discovery commercial? It’s classed as a van so you get the benefits on the tax, the company can still class it as a van for their benefit and you get a nice comfortable motor that will swallow bikes easily.

The increased benefit to the business of running your vehicle as a van could also negate the extra cost of the fuel.

Cheap but decent = Yamaha. Something second hand easily available and won’t cost a lot.

Quick mooch at guitar guitar shows this: http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/preowned_guitars_detail.asp?stock=px-G15ES3234

Bikes great, uk pre sales service great, German post sales service not so good I found. I’d buy again though.

Couple of errors on the spec of mine and no response to my emails. Had to have a different colour to what I ordered and they shipped to the wrong address. Not that bothered given how much I like the bike but still..

They did recompense me on the colour issue with free delivery and box and I was torn on colour anyway.

I’m on a L 20″ strive and it’s a nice fit if a little short in the top tube.

32″ inseam, 6ft 1 and about 90kg if that helps. I’d ignore their calculator and work on measurements & geo – their calc told me I should be on a small.

At your size i’d be looking at the XL 29’r given the measurements personally but i’d prefer a roomier bike, a lot wouldn’t.

i’ve got half a box which i’ve not used cos they leak if you look at them. The unleaky ones have fluid kind of leaking at the seams but not actually out of the packet, and they seem to self implode inside a camelback or jersey without much trouble.

Mucky nuts – tried the neoguard and never liked it have mucky nuts on all my bikes now, just stay there whatever the weather.

Ran one happily with a 2.5 maxxis front all week in the wet clag with no rubbing problems either, although that’s probably more to do with the forks as it hugs the inner arch.

I chucked a racesport on last time as I couldn’t find the regular versions in stock.
That was 6 months ago and it’s not imploded yet…. That bikes only been ridden a dozn times or so since though & nothing more than trail centres.

Can’t you import your existing movies into your itunes library on your PC/mac or whatever? If you can get them into iTunes then any Apple TV will be able to play them in the same way you can play your music. No need to stream from a device.

There are a few software options out there that can convert movies from one format to an iTunes compatible format.

Problem with that is apple TV can’t just play them – it needs a mac of some sort to run itunes for the library access. It’s the reason why the jailbroken ATV2’s are so expensive – it means you don’t need another server as you can just run it as a DLNA client.

If I want to play my movies I have to fire the laptop up just to play the apple TV which I find annoying. You can’t just stream via the iPad either as most streaming apps don’t let you do anything else whilst using airplay so it means you can’t browse web etc while watching the film.

OP not sure on Aceplayer but I use a couple of media players on the ipad which do what you’re talking about fine, talk to the NAS and stream directly to the apple TV, so it’s quite feasible if a little faffy. Not just MP4, pretty sure i’ve had other non apple formats working.

Royal mail and online business account is simple and easy, account run online, print labels or stamp them and just drop everything off at the dist. centre. You won’t get a coleection service unless you spend 15K a year or pay for it – it costs me about £750+ vat/year I think for collection.

DPD & TNT very good I find on parcels. Parcelforce getting heinously expensive, and the likes of Hermes,Yodel etc are really a bit crap.

Plus the VAT on the shipping costs, and the advancement fees. Depending on courier and value of the bike you could pay between £10-£100 in advancement fees for the courier to pay the VAT & Duties for you.

Drop spesh an email, they’ll still have it. I managed to find the fsr geo a while ago if it’s any use, http://www.specialized.com/OA_MEDIA/pdf/bikemanuals/2004/04_Stump_Tech_Manual.pdf

Keep googling you’ll find it eventually it’s taken me a while to find older spesh stuff before.

How much space and how big are the cards? Wolverine flashpac used to do that old tech now but can probably be picked up on ebay cheaply second hand, iirc 120gb was max storage and didn’t support sdhc so may not be useful. If it works I can’t see them being more than 20 quid or so these days!

CaptainSlow- run a program called omnidisksweeper. It goes through your HDD and lists files/folders by size and you can drill down and see what everything is. I find it one of the most useful programs on the mac! I find no end of stuff taking up space this way.

I think sales and artificial RRP inflation are one of the biggest problems for retail. RRP’s are not even slightly relevant anymore unless the brands that run them protect them which very few do. A lot of brands just give a RRP that’s far higher than the expected retail price to allow for a discount to be given and still make a margin.

The main reason RRP’s get used is because they avoid the legality that stops you using was/is pricing unless it actually was the previous price. It really should be illegal in the same way. It preys on greed and in extreme circumstances it’s a pure con.

We try and avoid discounting throughout the year, and are constantly compared to other retailers who offer discounted products i.e. RRP £500 special price £150. We could sell the same item for a straight £150 at full retail and most general customers would buy the discounted item, and don’t believe you when you tell them it’s an inflated RRP that means nothing.

Some people will always walk if they can’t get a discount even if the price is genuinely good to start with. And now you’ve got a high street full of massive reductions a week before Christmas because no-one wants to be beaten in the race to the bottom.

Edit: That was a long rant….

A couple of our suppliers have sent notes in the post explaining they aren’t doing Christmas cards this year, but donating the budget to charity instead.

Given the cost of sending Christmas cards is probably 90% postage and they’re still writing letters mainly with Christmassy borders to explain I really don’t get it!

I’ve got X01 not flush enough for XX1 and i’m surprised how good it is after avoiding SRAM for years. Also means I clean the bike much more religiously now and maintain the drivetrain much better given it’s not £50 for a cassette and chain….

Only real bugbear is as mentioned above I miss shimano’s 2 way release but i’ve got used to it after a few months. (Oh, and the cost of the bits…) I even like the brakes! They do make a racket though in the wet.

34t front which is good and no worse than the 32/11-36 I used to run 1×10 but I might go down to a 32 to give the knees a break.

I’ve got one (8.0 team Large) – bit late to the thread to offer anything if you’ve already ordered it but bang me an email (in profile) if you want to ask anything. Good shout on the Fatbar upgrade I do think it benefits from the extra width.

Depending on your weight and how hard you ride it you might need to look at the rear shock, the frame does blow through travel still even with the monarch on the race. I find myself using the 3 position switch a lot. Not sure how the ’14 fox stuff alters that though.

You can get both Reba & SID in that flavour.
29″ SID 120mm new for 2014 I think though so not filtered through to the cheap OEM guys yet. The Germans have 29″ Reba’s for around £320 not seen much stock in the UK though as have been looking myself.

RCT3 SID looks like a lovely fork but is £500!

it’s for an ipad, a month shy of 2 years old.

It’s not really the SOGA you want to use here, it’s the EU Consumer law on electronics. http://www.apple.com/uk/legal/statutory-warranty/

If it was purchased direct from Apple they would have sorted it if less than 2 years old – they repaired my 18month macbook no questions asked as part of it.

SOGA does apply and you could argue that it should last longer than 2 years but I think you’ll find the EU 2 year consumer law easier to argue without going through small claims etc. It’s not straightforward however – you have to prove the fault which is easy sometimes but if it’s the charging point faulty they might argue it’s through misuse.

Perkins Slade travel insurance. That’s who I use – and they run block insurance for BMC, BCU (kayaking), the kitesurfing NGB etc so will cover all the sports you mention.

Not sure on off piste skiing though – i don’t ski so not something I could comment on sure a phone call would sort it though. You can normally bolt on extra sports or higher risk activities within a covered sport.

Sram only recalling brakes over a certain number when supplier changed processes, numbers before that are fine.

Mine are fine and are actually very good.

Think you’ll find they’ve extended that to all hydraulic cx/road brakes now.. That’s going to cost them a few quid!

Omnidisksweeper is a great little program, scans your drive and lists files and folders by size so it makes clearing things out really easy. 1gb USB drive will do you favours as you could move stuff you don’t need on there.

Never done it before – look online and seems to be quite a faff – continental take the biscuit with their ‘shake and rotate the tyre 25.4 times 14 times an hour over 3.2 hours’ video which really put me off!

I’ll give it a bash, was just wondering if the UST makes a difference as conti’s TR tyres are reinforced protection + apex, whereas the UST doesn’t have that reinforcement. UST has less plies and a higher TPI so i’m buggered if I know which one is more durable!

    Thanks for the answers.

I’ve got one of those on the banger bike. Considering it was less than £100 and it replaced a suntour something or other it’s great.

The superstar mavic/switch wheelset on that bike is also similarly good for £220 considering they had a couple of years of abuse everywhere before getting on there.

Carpet? Don’t remember carpet last time I was there… However I don’t remember a lot until waking up in the back of the car at holme pierrpont at 9 the next morning! I don’t think I died but it sure felt like it..

Although couldn’t be a patch on the Robin 2 before they changed the carpet, used to be like walking on glue!

Guitar port. Best thing around in my opinion for the money, nice and small works with mac and some great modelling software.

Been using it for 10+ years. Only niggle I have with it on the mac is that you have to boot into 32bit to use the software on Lion/ML. Seems to have sorted itself out with mavericks though.
