It was going to be a speedmax, given that the chance of any races this year is slim to none, and ive got no justification in spending money in the current circumstances im mainly hoping that a pair of scrotes will do my garage over and take the fleet, as its all insured for quite a bit and n-1 or 2 would be no bad thing.

Then a top spec aeroad and the rest in the piggy bank for a new enduro bike next year if the alps will have us back. (Or to pay the mortgage for a few months if this carries on!)

I am. Or at least planning to.

Agreed before all this, sold as a buy to let to a doctor, im buying from a couple buying a new build. Im in retail, probably going to be closing the doors for a while tomorrow. So pretty much all the worst things that it could be at the moment, luckily only a small chain.

My Searches were ordered a week ago, council now shut so no idea if ill have those and exchange is just after easter controlled by the new build property sale. Unlikely ill get searches by then.

If somehow all the stars align and this comes off then ill still be going ahead, its a larger house and im on my own. Mortgage increase by nearly £200 a month plus other costs which is concerning, but the way i see it if i cant afford that i will be screwed either way cos i wont be able to afford my house now – and as far as a crash goes, a small correction and slowdown is probably likely but not a crash as govt wont allow it. Too many very big mortgages. Even if, id rather get stuck in a nicer house for a few years.

Most people think I’m nuts for doing it i think, but hey.

We’ll all be counting the cost of this for a long time, but i think the economic factors at play will at least keep the housing market stable. Its all guesswork though.

Two for £8 at odeon here or £4.99 each at the big vue.

No way I’d pay more than a fiver to rent a film. I did watch joker the other night for £4.99 and I won’t be doing that again soon!

Its just a cost of business, and if you’re accepting paypal goods and services payments then really thats what you are, hence why its now called that. Any other card payment wouldn’t get any fees back and normally a refund charge too, so it wont have a bearing on business refund policies as thats what were all used to. Right to return etc will still override any question on charges.

Of course the problem is for Joe bloggs selling an old set of forks and wanting goods/services so they don’t get scammed. But again there you could argue you’re paying for protection. if you want to offer a refund paypal still have to cover their costs – i suppose if you’re legitimately not a business then you don’t need to offer a refund unless the goods are faulty/not as described etc in which case more fool you, if the buyer just doesn’t want them then thats their choice, refund less fees.

I’ve just sorted my Mortgage out. That 0.5% is £40 a month to me. I’m going after it!

I figure it’s all fair game. I wouldn’t go snooping, but I’ve just sold and I’ve basically taken the view everything is fair game. Everything private was put in an ottoman bed, no one would open that or know it had storage. Otherwise I’ve assumed my privacy is secondary to the buyers wanting to look around – thank Christ that’s over I hated it.

Got to be a passat GTE id have thought? Or the similar volvo maybe. Covers image box, dog box, low bik box.

As long as shes not paying for fuel then the worse fuel economy than a diesel on long miles wont be an issue, The hybrid just gets you the lower bik. Im looking at similar, wont charge it up not really fussed on the ev bit i just want the bik savings. I wouldnt personally be relying on our ev charging network for business use just yet.

The only way I can allow phone calls is to allow Emergency by pass on the numbers, so then my parents could ring me in an important meeting during the day.

    You’ve answered your own question.
Just go to the contact, ringtone, then activate emergency bypass. That will override the silent switch, you don’t need to faff with dnd then.

If they send it paypal gift then in theory no, but in practice it can be reversed i.e. chargeback if a credit card used.

Effectively, if buyer is legit then they may as well just draw that money out, as if they pay you gift with a credit card they will be charged 3 percent or so. To avoid fees they have to pay direct debit or use an existing paypal balance, which they could just draw out as cash. Raising a chargeback on the credit card isnt straightforward so you would have to be very unfortunate to get scammed using paypal gift, but still… if it looks like a pig and smells like a pig…. The only reason i could see for using paypal gift in this circumstance is if the buyer wanted to use a credit card to spread the cost, and is prepared to take the 3% hit.

I am going to assume the scam here is they pay you regular paypal, but give you extra to cover the fees so you think theyre good, then open an item not received case, which you’ll then lose.

Id be telling them to do one personally.

Edit; if you look at the url of this page youll see its the second exact same topic as this, remove the -2 from the end of the url and youll get a load more answers to your question.

Cats and old age in mine, whole house stripped, plastered, refitted, floored and decorated. Didn’t properly go till the plaster went on.

Suspect general dog smell will be ok, worst case carpets and curtains if it’s really bad.

Just sounds like a 2 gang 2 way to me?

You’ll have a set of wires going to each other switch, then the 3rd one of those sets of wires will be going to one of the lights and back into the lighting circuit.

At the other switches one will just be a loop back to your 2 gang switch and the other will go to the other light.

Mines wired in a similar way, 1 gang upstairs for the landing, 2 gang downstairs for landing or hall. 3 sets of wires come out of the 2 gang 2 way downstairs.

That’s how I understand it anyway, not a sparky but not blown myself up yet. Not sure, get a sparky to look.

How are you connecting? My Apple TV is similar for zwift, ancient Sony lcd and overscan modes only work on dvi/pc inputs. The hdmi has it disabled. If you’re coming out of a laptop and you’re using hdmi, try a dvi or vga cable if you’ve got one.

Any of them would be good. I’d do a road trip in a van and to one of the concurrent weekends, may in Eastern Europe or September in the alps? If she’s a non rider a week between to enjoy a weeks holiday.

If your biking too then that might miss lift season, id probably go for vallnord given the choice of one, id love to ride there.

Hang on, policy specifies 5 lever locks, you’ve asked them if you can downgrade the lock to which they’ve said no. I don’t get it?

That’s a gate bolt.. doesn’t matter how well you reinforce it if they pick it/snap it etc. A 5 lever proper mortice lock will be hardened, anti pick etc,to whatever standard they use.

Just buy a service kit and do the lot. You’ll probably find Amazon the easiest place.

May not cure your issue though, I’m assuming this is a cartridge damper not a charger bladder, but pop the damper out and check the lockout is working correctly and the silver port cover at the base of the damper is opening and closing properly.

You don’t need parts. I used to be a tart, now I’ve literally just ordered a drivetrain for the turbo bike and it’s the first bike purchase I’ve made in over 12 months. Cheap biking is loads better!

Spend the money on petrol and accommodation for a weekend somewhere new and give it a proper thrashing!

Just another thought, given mine its first go today and bear in mind you might need new sensors, my cadence and hr are ant and that wont work with the apple tv. So its new bt ones of those too.

    nickdavies

The new bluetooth smart one yes you can. Theres a slight issue with the fact that the apple tv only takes 2 bluetooth inputs so you basically cant have power, cadence and hr together.

Ive just done similar but moved from old bkool to wahoo as its supposed to combine cadence into the same channel as power leaving one free for hr, just got it all rigged up ready to test tomorrow. Laptop wasnt cutting it here either, hopefully the atv will run it ok.

I just put nice into the Europcar app and they offer a van, £177 for a week with a 3 seat kango or £240 for a traffic.

As above, it’s the on airport bit you’ll struggle with but looking at a map it’s a 4.5km taxi to europcar, one of you clears off and gets the van and fetches the others.

Ah ok, I am clamping the steerer

    You’re clamping the wrong bit…
Clamp the lower then you’ll find it moves a lot easier. Then your force is driving the press fit out, clamp the steerer and your just moving the lowers as well. They can be a pain though, I use a hex key with a body like a screwdriver.

    nickdavies

It’s straightforward, just follow signs for the airport, then parking, and as you come into the airport area you keep following the parking signs and it’s car park P51 on the right.

Did you give it a commercial invoice? Our ups guys are pretty good, they’ll check the paperwork, you’ll need several copies etc.

Give them a bell, you’ll be able to email one into them. If you provided an email when you booked it check your junk etc, they may have emailed you.

You’ll need to get hs codes etc. Drop me a pm if you like and I’ll send you one of ours if you want a template. It’s straightforward.

Yeah the pictures never seem to be of the actual bikes do they. Often I’ll look at their specials, mainly road, and you’ll se a nicely specced bike with posh wheels etc, the spec is different. Some of the images do carry the rider but it’s a bit poor form. You’ll probably find the spec is as per the listing.

Anyway, Brant, Brant, Brant normally does the trick… 👍🏻

It’s an x-12 axle, I swapped mine for a bolt in. If I can find the original lever one I’ll give you a shout but no idea where it is.

£40 for a dt Swiss one, Amazon have them in stock. They’re usually around £20-£25 but not in stock with the usual suspects.

I’ve got vinyl plank down from howdens in my kitchen. Looks really good, it’s not lasted superbly well scratches a bit easily. All looks fine but it’s just me, if I had 3 kids and 2 dogs I’d probably think twice.

You won’t see it, PPG is just for sending money and you don’t get the protection etc of the shipping address being confirmed etc.

You either just send it (you’re in the stronger position) or refund them, make them pay proper PayPal and you’ll get a confirmed address.

I think you’d have a job getting insurance and tax for a scrapped car!

Why does it get scrapped? It gets recorded as a write off whatever happens, assuming as a cat removal it will only be a minor one and not need any re certifying etc.

Just means they’ll let you sort scrapping it as opposed to picking it up themselves, so you just don’t scrap it. That’s how I’ve done it anyway, had 2 written off, kept one and scrapped one. No idea if there’s more regulations etc on the new insurance write off categories.

No offence in running without a cat, just straight pipe it and consider it a £700 ten year old motor. Is the mot fresh? Do you know a mot tester? If you’ve got 12 months test on it I’d keep it.

No point chucking money at it imo, something else could let go at that age. Cats are being pinched a lot, easy money as the precious metal content is so high and on older cars your talking 5 minutes for two blokes with a hand tool.

If the car is still in your posession, chances are even if they pay out the write off they’ll tell you to scrap it, you could have the full money and the car if that happens.

I’d think so, it’s a typically 70s Semi, everything seems to be standard.

I’ve got a 70’s semi. My kitchen has 3 internal doors lined up in a row. There is 20mm difference in width and height on both dimensions across them. No other doors measure the same. Don’t assume they’re standard, I ended up keeping the old ones cos I couldn’t get any cheap ones that fitted!!

Take one highly nicked car, replace it with one of the most nicked cars in the uk.

You know the scumbags will be waiting for you to get the insurance payout and replace it, right?

On the plus side, whilst it’s on your drive you can be content that there really isn’t anything as capable as the R.

    Yes front wheel off.

Easiest way is to board off the back section of the bus, put a shelf in at seat level and cross them over with noses lifted up so they are diagonal, that still gives you access to under the seat. With modern wide bars its a bit of a pain as to keep them shallow you need to turn the bars, then the width becomes an issue hence the need to lift the nose.

Most space efficient would be front wheel off, couple of fork mounts on the shelf and just pop the bar and stem off each time.

With a traditional layout there is enough room to do this in a swb and still have a r&r bed, but you just wont be able to get the fridge open with the bed down. In your case if you sleep up top then youve got plenty of room.

Ive gone for bike rack though, a swb t5 is pretty much a compromise and that half a metre of garage space does eat into the cabin. With a decent lock and alarm ive not lost a bike in 4 years.

Depends on the employers view and their notice period.

Working a longer notice period shouldn’t be an issue but unless there’s a valid reason for gardening leave I’d bet on no chance. If the usual policy is to give gardening leave just to avoid having staff who are leaving in the office then I’d bet you’ll be out as soon as you give it.

I’d hang fire, but like all stw employment threads the only answer comes from your employer..
