I ended up with the kinesis maxlight wheels for hope money as I wanted something a bit wider and stiffer than arch ex but the same weight, so lighter than flow ex, at 85-90kg I didn’t want to go too lightweight.

American Classic would have been my first choice but struggled to find stock in the UK. I think if I upgraded them I’d try out lightbicycle carbon rims at 1500g for similar money, or build a pair onto hope or dtswiss hubs.

IS52 isn’t it? Try the cane creek headset fit tool to comfirm, superstar and cane creek bearings both fit. I had fun and games trying to find what fitted my strive also, canyon no help at all.

They have to put up with the cost of recovering the old debt if someone leaves, they can’t demand payment up front. She’d be better off knocking it on the head. Although I don’t see why it would be an issue as given the scheme maxes out at £1000 the chances of anybody earning less in their final pay packet than the outstanding debt would be fairly slim, part timers excepted.

I’d agree with a minimum time period though, I’d say minimum 1 year or at least until off probation. Would be bad business sense to just start chucking benefits around to people who are unproven.

As far as I know you can do it, the problem isn’t so much getting them seated its the effect of 100psi in a 25mm casing going pop whilst descending at 60kph down a busy road……

If I was bothered enough about it to give it a go, I’d be running a proper tubeless tyre. Not worth the risk.

I reckon op should change tact – I never knew the blokes could use girls stuff. So I reckon he should make a point of not taking anything now and just using all her feminine products when he goes over, including her loofa… Reckon he’d soon get his own drawer!

    And still, no pics?

Effective take home will be about 3500 assuming no company car or other factors affecting her base tax code.

Could well be a couple of hundred quid less than that on her payslip depending how she is taxed as it will push her over the 40% tax threshold for the month, if that does happen it will come back to her by means of paying less tax in subsequent months, so she’ll be no worse off overall.

Her payroll people are the ones to ask really as other factors, pension etc will have a bearing.

Ive been watching this thread and the other sync threads because I really want a ti ht but funds only allowed me the ff29 :-(

That ^ Kona however… Don’t think I’ve ever seen a bike as good looking as that!

Is it proper 2bliss? Might need a bit more sealant if not. I’d put about 120ml in a 29er tyre of that volume, so chuck a bit more in and go for a ride. Should sort itself out.

I don’t have any tubeless tyres that will hold riding pressure for more than about a week, I just top up every now and then the few psi required.

What’s a good light for the helmet? A quick glance at Wiggle doesn’t seem to show much.

Wasn’t there a tidy looking glowstick type thing on a PSA here the other day?
2 for the price of one IIRC, clipped round your helmet or backpack.

Mine mounts to the bottom of the dropper body no fuss, but you can get a saddle rail mount for it to raise it. Exposure flare.

Yep had one for 18months and only stopped using it due to reverb coming with new bike, been on another bike for 12 months and still going strong.

Has the usual problems with cable actuation I.e. Clean and lube the cable every few months and tighten bolt etc in the head but that’s no major issue, and whilst doing that unscrew the top collar and have a good clean and lube of all that as well.

Every 12 months or so take the bottom out, the cartridge unthreads clean all the internals and grease and reassemble. No service manuals I could find so its a bit DIY but fairly simple once you get used to it and a lot cheaper than a reverb to buy and maintain.

Oh and bizarrely I use a pair of beaters from a kenwood hand whisk to open the bottom up, put the pointy ends in opposite holes, cross over and twist. Would be simpler to use an appropriately sized socket and grind the sides flat to leave 2 prongs.

iCloud. Just don’t take any naughty pics…

If she wants something to view and organise pics not just a straight backup then on windows Picasa might be worth a look? Can import and create libraries based on geotagging, facial recognition etc. iPhoto does well but is Mac only. There are better PC options but not free.

Edit: Also this link might help: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
You can import directly into windows and it’ll keep the file structure dated but not geotagged etc.

Sealskins are brilliant. Waterproof, breathable, and at £30 is pretty cheap considering if you trash them, you buy a new pair, and if you have a waterproof boot you trash you can’t.

Tend to ride in them all year round, just different thicknesses for summer/winter.

As it is the only flaw in my original cunning plan would have been a bit of a whiff of mineral oil around the sink and none of the dishes done

Think you’ve got more than one flaw in your plan there…. ;-)

Lidl still have their 24 litre oil model in stock.

Combined with a Prestaflator it’s brill.

Good shout, i checked all the mech bolts and the main hanger bolt but the little secondary bolt on the hanger was loose so tightened that, and 2 of the chainring bolts were mega loose and the other 2 were a 1/4 turn from tight. See if that cures it tomorrow night! Going to hope it’s not the free hub..

Canyon Spectral from what you’ve said in OP – that’s what I’d get having a strive now. I’d be eyeing this fella up.. http://www.canyon.com/_en/mountainbikes/bike.html?b=3603

To play top trumps i’d put geometry first, then price & weight up top as easy ones for spec.
I’d also check for cheapening out, i.e. Pike RC’s, groups with cheaper bits chucked in, etc…
There’s a lot of X01 Pike enduro bikes out there like this to keep the cost down.

Mech is same age as chain, NW is clean. Mech’s not had an impact and the bike’s quite new so i’m going to discount that for the moment.
Gonna just change the cassette and hope it’s that. It’s hardly worth worrying bout given I’ve just paid CRC £21 for a 10spd XT cassette!

I’m currently sticking with the X-King back it’s actually clearing goop a lot better than I thought it would.
Better all round rear tyre than the MK i think.
I’d recommend them they seal dead easily tubeless and are very grippy given how well they roll. I’d take a look at some of the light maxxis options (sidewalls too thin for me) or those Geax tyres everyone likes too?

    nickdavies
    Full Member

They’re definitely on the thinner side. I had to check the sidewalls when I put them next to my 2.2 RQ’s!
I’ve been running 2.2 both ends fine, they roll nicely but I’ve got a 2.2 and 2.4 mountain king to try on the front. The 2.4 protection X-King is actually heavier than the 2.4 mountain king so I reckon the MK might make a better front tyre.

Just taken a quick pic to show – comes up as 2″ knobble to knobble at 25psi.

On Kinesis maxlight wheels so they will be a bit thinner on crest/arch and a bit wider on flows I think? 29″ flavour.

I’ve got a strive which i’ve had for 12 months. It’s brilliant, however i’ve been eyeing up the spectral 29er since going 29 on the hardtail.

If I was doing it again i’d go spectral, but can’t bring myself to take the hit and get one and sell the strive.
