If youre not using a proper barometric altimeter id say use strava, but use the correct elevation function. That should link it to the known mapped elevation and give you a pretty reliable answer.

    Some form of seamless boxer.
I’ve got a couple of pairs of seamless kooga I think cycling shorts from my second row days which I wear with a couple of pairs of shorts like you mention. Weird things though.

Commando won’t keep things snugged up, regular boxers or swim trunks are going to leave him suffering a bit of chafage!

Almost all my zwifting is done on a workout mode, will I feel teh awesumz of the aero advantage in ERG mode?

Yes, you will, more aero virtual Zwift components mean you go faster for the same power output.

Well! Results are in and that was a waste of a million sweat points.

    Yesterday on climber: avg 182w 76m climbing 54:19 34.1kph
    Today on Shiv with 808’s: avg 185w 51m climbing 1:01:04 33.6kph

Obviously the draft you pick up on the road outweighs the aero benefits. Looks like I’ll be saving up for that s5.

How do I get a SP refund? 🤣

I just bought a Shiv and some 808’s.

Obviously Strava bragging is much better if I could add a few kph to my activities.

If you are furloughed, then you can undertake no work for the company or any affiliated company.

Guidance is fairly clear, even contracting you are undertaking work for the company so wouldn’t be able to be furloughed. You answer your own question really – how is either situation you describe not working or providing services for the company?

Is that a US composite body Steinberger? Asking for a friend 😉

It’s not an original one, it’s one of the thru neck post Gibson imports. Probably 10-15 years old and it goes all over the world with me. It’s suffered a bit of a hard life, but for the money it’s been great with some beefed up pups. One of the keepers.

One of the grail guitars would be an original USA steinberger with transtrem, but I’m a long way off spending that kind of money.

    N+1.

Im not a drummer, but at last count i was on 13 guitars although 1 (a lovely schecter korina flying v) is for sale in the local shop.

I’ve only played 4 of them in the last 5 years so really it’s time to have a clearout.

    2x 12 strings acoustic
    2x 6 string acoustic
    1x ovation electro acoustic
    1x old japanese strat
    1x steinberger headless
    1x kramer sambora
1x ibanez herman lee (blocked trem and sounds fantastic, just wish it didnt have the silly hand hold)
Plus some other stuff, strat/sg reps etc.

Just typing this i’m realising a lockdown job should probably be a session with the camera and ebay!

200/180 as above. Although i seem to have stopped bothering to put the 180 back on after lifted stuff and just stick to 200/200 year round.

The ace pc mini pc’s on amazon look pretty good and are well reviewed – the £89 one with 2gb/32gb is the same level of spec as a 4th gen Apple TV.

Should do zwift fine, it’s not hungry. My ATV runs it better than my MacBook Air does.

They’re notorious for breaking at the spider, check them carefully for cracks and google it to see what you’re looking for – if yours are on the way out better to catch it now!

Smoked, and of course nice thick cut from the butcher, not the supermarket.

I’ve been curing and smoking my own recently, experimentation with flavours hasn’t always worked so well but i’ve had a couple of really good pieces. Lockdown would be an ideal time to practice but i’ve had to lay off.. the first 2 weeks were bacon sandwiches every day which did not help the old waistline!

More divisive a subject could be sauces…. red is heinous and a waste of bacon, brown is better, but still, good bacon just needs bread and butter…. 😋

Ive used lumos which is an ios app to do the same thing for a new house, I didnt take it as far as putting in heights etc but it was fine for me. Did sun/moonpaths etc, you can alter time date etc to see the effect at different times of year.

Only drawback was you needed the paid version to move the map, otherwise it’s location based. Not a problem for me as i could just go round to the house, or if you’re doing it for your own house. Not as useful if you’re buying a house 200 miles away.

They never come tubeless because of shipping, but they will come taped with valves in the box.

Tubes off, fit valves, add sealant and your golden.

    Good bike choice👍🏻

FYI it’s on prime twice, there’s a rent and a free version so don’t just pick the first one that comes up as that’s the one you have to pay for.

Ride the Divide is also on there, another great mike hall film you have to rent it – well worth it.

Divided & the hammer are also good as is where the trail ends.

If you want a must watch – Blood Road is fantastic.

Not as good as the first, I kind of think thats one they should have just left, as much as I enjoyed the first one. I still binged it by friday lunch.

It was all very well written and genuinely funny but just felt it tried a bit too hard for humour where the first one just felt more natural, and the reliance on swearing in unrealistic situations took a bit away from the whole thing. All felt a bit less honest if thats the right word.

    Still great though 👍

Ive got a ‘16 stumpjumper sworks, i run the hope PF bottom bracket and a shimano crank on it. Never had a peep out of it in 3 years.

Not a cheap bb and you have to have lbs fit it or buy the special tools, but has been reliable for me. Why they cant just thread the shells as a standard so we can fit decent £20 XT BB’s is beyond me…

Yeah but its a Dumble, and they’ve been mad money for years.
They’ve seem to got 3 others for sale, one of which was Bonamassa’s.

Price is a bit irrelevant when you can’t actually buy a new one, even if you had a spare 100k and a lot of influence as his order book will see him out, and any of them will have a load of provenance. To anybody who gets it and can afford it, that is. I get it, i’d never have the skills or the money to warrant it though!

Bonamassa obviously did, although 90k probably doesn’t have much of a bearing when you’ve got a 59 LP running through it.

Looking at the snapshots on wayback machine the 3 year warranty seems to have come into place in november 15, up to January 19 where it goes back to being a 5 year warranty again.

Are you talking to the shop or upgrade? I suppose the problem is there are no frames left anyway even if they wanted to go above and beyond the 3 year warranty.

    nickdavies
    Full Member

If you go on the way back machine from 2014, under faq’s kinesis list ti frames as a 5 year warranty.

I seem to recall it being much shorter than that cos I was thinking about one to replace my FF29 that I loved, but I never did. Seem to recall it was either a year or 3. There’s nothing on any of the product or tech pages about warranty though, or on the upgrade site.

Upgrade bikes are always very good in my experience though, they’ve sent me a new rim for a wheel out of warranty and spare parts FOC, always been really impressed with their after sales service. Some of their stockists, not so much.

Ok, so yeah it’s definitely not cramps – it’s just a sharp searing pain that moves around my legs. Almost always starts in my left buttock then travels down towards my knee and the front muscles seem to bear the worst of it.

At rest it’s a dull ache, now I can feel it in my left buttock and right front of leg. Quad I think? But again it moves around even at rest.

I never stretch – will start that. Probably don’t drink enough but use electrolytes and after harder efforts us rego powder. More fluids too then.

Grimpeur – yep that’s like it, the worst I had it was a 12h flight a few years ago when I really suffered. Even down to me pedalling one legged to finish the other day! 😂 Driving definitely brings it on, especially the van because of the seated angle, and this was at its worst in my old job where I was doing 30-40k a year in the car. I really thought I had kicked it myself. Hopefully once I’m back to work and moving and back in the gym it will go again.

The actual excersise has no bearing – it seems I can beast myself as much as I want as long as I carry on going. It’s only after a rest of a couple of days after riding continuously for several days, then resting, then riding again it flares up – and normally it’s only low load, this time it was avg 50k a day at 25-27kph which is below what I’m capable of, but I was just doing base miles and not pushing to hard to try and avoid this!

Thanks for the input so far guys 👍🏻

Doms/cramps/muscle pain – all the same to me don’t really think of it as any different. Just super tight and painful muscles.

10-12 hours a week last year with plenty of bike/runs, structured training and this never flared up.

Today tried to go for a walk, got 25metres before i had to come back and thats 10 days since it started. Wonder if the fact im just at home whereas normally im 1.5 miles walk to work and back each day and on my feet most of the day isnt helping. Maybe at 34 im just getting old but this has been going on since mid 20’s and has been better the past couple of years. Diet probably not great at the moment but better than it has been and given the pubs are shut no booze is going in! 😂

You dont need alexa to have a smart plug. Ive got some byron ones here which are about 15 years old which just have a little remote.

If i was doing it id use the ikea tradfri remote plug with an extra 2 switches – £31 that would cost you.

Plenty of remote plugs on amazon alternatively which would do the job without having to mess about with wiring or pulleys. Search remote sockets rather than smart sockets. Just had a look and the dewenwils stuff looks heavy duty and a bit chunkier for garage use.

Leffeboy: they’re called intermediate switches rather than by the number of ways for some reason.

Cant you just use a smart plug?

Or just wire it up as a 3 way switch with some 3+1 cable. (Assuming you can get 3+1 and switches in the right rating, easier to use a smart plug)

Yeah theyre really good, got a pair of the trails and a pair of the dh. Had them since they first came out so no issues with longevity theyve been brilliant.

Listed as a fsa no.8, quick google suggests bearings should be 42mm od 8mm high 45 deg angle?

This would fit, you might want to try a better quality of bearing though.

    https://www.bearingsrus.co.uk/acb4545-30crs-zen?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIvP__p8bv6AIVlYBQBh1LPwbGEAQYEiABEgKD5PD_BwE

Edit: had a little hunt and none of the high end bearing makers seem to do them. fsa use TH bearings, TH870 is the replacement, simply bearings have them or plenty of others online, crc included.

Genuine 3m, expensive but better than the cheap stuff. What I always use anyway.

I need to order some but it’s £45 for 3m of 75mm, want to split an order?

Viking tape are the cheapest, eBay ends up being £30-40 for 1m of the stuff and I don’t trust it’s always genuine.

Hole too big to seal properly or fluid not sticking effectively. I’ve had it a couple of times, tyre rides fine but the next day it’s flat and the hole is wet so you know the jizz ain’t done it’s thing.

Hole down and it will hold air, leak a bit of jizz.

I just patch the inside of the tyre with a patch and that sorts it.

    Van

Not a proper detail as I haven’t got a DA.. but about as close as I get.

7hours. Bike rack and plates off, rinse, prewash, wheels including the arch liners, foam, rinse, fallout remover and foam again, wash including roof, dry, claybar whole van, rinse again, hand polish. Interior stripped, vacuum, clean, wash down everywhere, pressure wash all the carpets, clean seats, I’m pooped.

Worst part is it’ll just sit there for weeks now!

I use a dhf front and aggressor rear. It’s a big old bike though, 29in tyres and nearly 15kg it’s never going to be an xc whippet. Aggressor is about the best compromise I’ve found, a lot better than the dhf I used to use, all be it in 60a coumpound. Do they still ship them with 42a super tacky rears?!

    (26” strive here though)

    https://www.slowtwitch.com/articles/images/8/59848-largest_Cassette_Chart_2013_Rev3.png

I don’t think he can given that the issue is the cassette is effectively too far to the left.

I read it as the cassette is too far to the right, hence he can’t get into top gear. (I.e the 11/12t)

Sounds to me like too many spacers as it’s a SRAM 10spd cassette, they don’t need the extra spacer the shimano 10spd road ones do. See below table. I’d pop your wheel cassette off if it’s the same one and measure the spacer there assuming it’s an 11speed compatible freehub. Possibly your road wheel is spaced incorrectly and is only an issue now?

It’s all a bit of a compromise though, I can’t get mine to run right in the top gear – but I live with it cos i can’t be bothered to readjust it each time as I only have 1 road bike.

Might have to adjust your limit screws by sound of it.

That or a bent mech hanger, or check the size of your spacers. Should be approx 1.85mm total if youre running 8-10 speed and its an 11 speed compatible hub.
