Whats wrong with using your jersey pockets…

Deeply unfashionable but I have a small saddlebag with 2x tubes, 1x gas, multitool, tyre levers, quicklink and lock. Jersey contains keys, phone etc and any other clothing and food I want. No idea why you’d need a backpack… I could easily ride without the saddlebag just using pockets in the summer.

I used bikmo when I was in a similar situation for a bit. Most certainly more expensive than adding on or paying for a new policy and cancellation fees. Iirc it was £25-30 a month for the bikmo policy.

Not an anthem, but fitted a lev integra to my sworks, pretty pleased with it after a bit of faff getting it all installed and working. Not used it a lot in 2 years but decent enough so far.

Dislike the price, and its a lot more harsh than the good carbon post it replaced which is one benefit of a 27-2 post, not that that will be as much of an issue for an anthem.

The actual cup will be the same I would have thought as the 1 and a bit mm difference is the flair at the base for the race to sit on, the stem would be 38.1mm where it passes through both cups, both are zero stack so should be exactly the same cup.

Obviously you’re going to get different bits with a top and bottom application though, but if you had the right washers etc and crown race anyway it should be fine. If you’re just trying to order bearings they’re identical I’m sure.

Yes. 1st time for me and disappointment at having to drop from 100km to 75km as my broken back recovery meant that the very dry and hard first 50km induced a lot of pain.

Don’t let that disappoint you, 75k of that recovering from a broken back deserves kudos… I broke mine several years ago and I cut back to 75k 2 years ago because it was playing up, I missed last year so I was determined to make the full distance today (not a clever idea) and I can tell you I’m paying for it now!

You can rent a gps from the tourist information in Verbier with all the enduro/dh/itineraries etc preloaded. If it’s a one trip job that’s probably the best way of doing it save splashing for a new one. All the routes are free downloads from the website if you do buy your own.

Any of the bike garmins with gps will do – I use an edge 810 as it’s got sd card storage for large maps but you’ll fit Verbier on a 520 easily enough.

No need for a new bike, I use my 26er strive out there happily, will you be able to get minions in that size though? I really struggled last time so bought a few to see the bike to retirement when they came up.

I’ve got quite a few but don’t understand the question… sorry. You mean if you swing them all the way to the side how far do they stick out? What part?

Thats exactly the question, im trying to work out how much space 4 bikes is going to take up folded into the wall. Ive got a single car garage and to get the car in the bikes are all stored in a way that makes it a massive pain in the ass to get one out. End of the garage, bars turned, pedals off on the mtb and theyre just rested against the wall 3 bottom 2 on top. Steadyracks down one long wall might solve my problem if when folded into the wall i can still get the car in.

Amazon Germany were doing the qc35 for a bit over £200 a couple of weeks ago, I’d try there first. You can often find stuff cheaper on their sites elsewhere I’ve used .fr and .de before with no problems.

I’ve got a couple of Fox and Troy lee ones. And a royal and decathlon one which have zipped back pockets.

They’ve got to be fairly close fitting as baggy tops won’t work with back pockets you’ll just loose stuff and it will clang around.

I’d go with old battery and cold. It played up in winter, and temps drop again and it plays up. My van is absolutely useless in winter, battery won’t hold a charge for a week but is fine once it warms. Personally I’d change the battery even though it tests fine before hunting other gremlins.

Try connecting the phone to the app, then force close the app and click the link without having the app open, it shoudl launch itself and then connect.

Its terrible on the app. How i do it, is i create the course or view the course on an ipad or laptop etc, you cant get to the courses properly from your phone or the app. Goto connect.garmin.com, sign in then go to your courses, and create one or view one. If on an ipad you cant browse to the course from connect as it wants to use the app, if you login first then google garmin connect courses and click the riht link it gets you in that way. Then look at the url for the course you are viewing, and type that into your phone browser. It should load the course page up, click send to device and it should open the app and send the course to your device if its connected. Its hit and miss though.

I’d say your backwards.. summer tyres wider and larger surely for dry grip, with the winters being narrower, and smaller rims so you have bigger sidewalls?

That’s my take anyway. Either way I’m doing as your proposing, I’m just going for a set of Michelin agilis cross climates. I’d pick whichever wheel size the van came with from the factory or whichever size is better for the tyres you go for and fit all seasons to those. I’m sticking with 16’s on my t5.1 camper.

Round where you live, then clent/lickey will be your best bet. Reps of st kenelms pass will hurt but will work. Pretty easy to loop plenty of climbing around it to give a good ride, with a decemt pint at the bottom of your last one.

    Clee Hill from Tenbury Wells

Had to comment on this though as its my local climb to home. Its a bit of a good one, just dont stop at the top its all a bit ‘strange’.
Crack on to cleobury, back to tenbury via milson then out on the bromyard road to sapey will give you a nice 80k ish ride with plenty of climbing and interest.

Its age, innit. Im pretty sure my waist size hasnt looked back since i started having to tick the senior box on race entry forms…

Im turning the tide this year, but its taking me 10 plus hours a week of training. Not sure i can keep it up a whole lot longer, beer is too tasty.

Its more designed to limit the travel of the dropper than fix it in the event of a mechanical. Im sure ive got a couple floating around. Ill have a look at the weekend, ive also got a ks lev but its 27.2, if it fits ill happily post you one. Obviously 27.2 is a narrow post, if anyone with a sensible sized ks can confirm the shaft size might be better.

Ive never had a trail mechanical that causes the post to stick down, but if that happens the quick fix is to tighten the seatpost clamp so it wont suck down.

Tried biological washing powder or halo? You’d be amazed at what it can do to body armour… I left mine soaking wet after an alps trip a couple of years ago until a month later, I thought it was fit for the bin but I tried some bio powder and was amazed! Still going now!

Basic entitlement won’t see her paid for that unless it’s in the contract. To be fair, you’ve got to side with the employer there – people would just take the piss left right and centre if they could have a couple of days off sick for no reason. Especially as now the sick pay comes from the employer rather than the govt. They should allow it to come out of holiday though, if she’d rather be paid for it.

The form will likely be internal as part of her staff record, although IIRC they can’t make an employee fill one in.

Just fit them in the existing plugs with a couple of the remote switches. Get the RF ones not the IR ones and you’ll be fine, they’re designed just for this purpose when you can’t get to the switch / see line of sight. I’ve got three that are nearly 20 years old and still do the job for hidden plug lamps etc.

(I’d probably go for an echo dot and some Alexa plugs for the extra few quid though….)

Camping au freine or whatever its called at the top of the les gets black. Little bit further from morzine but its far better for getting onto the lift system than marmottes and its cheaper. Ace pool, nice site. Fresh bread in the morning and all the facilities youd need to go biking.

Its a lift up from les gets and 10 minute ride across or if you like beer more than catching the last lift a 20 minite climb up from les gets. Just dont get caught and miss the last lift from morzine….

They gave you a price, it was accepted. Job done, it was paid for, why would you think you had any comeback? Could have shopped around first no?

But if it needs justification, if theyve picked up a part for £50, why cant they charge £100 for it and £100 an hour labour? Doubling up on a part is hardly unreasonable, try running a business.

Would it be easier if they broke the invoice down a bit further? Mechanic costs, (nic, pension etc also) tool costs, consumables cost, vat, business rates, rent, so on so forth? Not to mention making a profit…

As above washing up liquid watered down, seat it before sealant.

Oh and at least you were in the garage. I’ve done it once and I was in the spare bedroom. I now add sealant after seating a new tyre, I’ll let you work out what a mess it caused.

Good scrub down, get all the soft furnishings out carpet curtain etc and leave it alone for a week with windows open. That’s what I did, my place was rank with cigarette smell and cat wee. Replastered downstairs but couldn’t afford to do upstairs too, as it was a thorough clean with sugar soap was enough. Recommend using decent paint though, I used a couple of coats of dulux trade super Matt then a couple of coats of dulux trade vinyl Matt and it’s come out pretty well with no bleed through of stains or smells.

Bear with me, off topic but thought this would be the place to ask! Just finally got my bkool turbo up and running 3 years after buying it and using it once, life gets in the way. ho hum.

Just done an introductory workout, and when in free pedal, feels great, quite natural but i can pedal at a good lick and I’m doing about 4 kph. Once the workout starts and i have a power target, it just feels unattainable (slow not too hard). I literally have to be in lowest gear, and pedalling right at the limit of how slowly i can turn the cranks otherwise I’m just putting out too much power. Each time the power required ramps up it seems to be wanting a similar cadence from me, which is too low.

Is this how it’s designed to work or am I missing something in setting it up, calibration etc? It’s a bkool smart, with a garmin cadence sensor linked.

Poly has it. You won’t win the points that way… although pretty much anything in a sauce can go in to start, then start experimenting with slow cooked joints. I love it, nothing better than an early start, breakfast, cook dinner leave it in the slow cooker all day whilst an epically long ride is had. Return, shower and dinner is served. Gammon In coke is one of my easy favourites.

    I’m not married though… probably helps👍🏻

Yes. I’ve just done an out and back, which is usually a 20k gentle climb and a 20k tt back down a fast road with a bit of descent. I was a lot quicker up than down… brutal. Probably 5-10 minutes slower than usual overall.

Credit card gives you a slight penalty on rate, but gets you effectively credit which is obviously better for a business purchase.

If you want to save the most money and pay straight away you want a currency broker, we use hifx at the moment but last time xe.com who have merged with them were a smidge cheaper. Others are available , but youll have to jump throuh a few hoops, passport details etc to get signed up and sorted. If its a one off transaction might be as easy to slap it on a card. Youre going to lose 1-2% depending on who you bank with.

Bootbuddy if they make one, about £90 IIRC.

I had one of those for a company car, but I normally use big waterproof fabric painting sheets. Buy elastic cord off eBay which you can use the lashing points in the boot sides and headrests on the front seats to make a ring all around the load area, then just drop the dust sheet inside. Crimp on 2 hooks on the ends and join them by the boot for and you can drop the sheet easily.
