i have no idea then, when you type also to google problem seep through for the hp pavilion with problems. so i think your the lucky one.

ive had laptops since i was 14.

never owned a mac untill yet, but now to the point where im thinking of one.
i have owned most branded laptops from shit like hp to sony.

Now i have had only 1 laptop that lasted 2 years(battery died after 16months or so)

I personally think in my experience that laptops generally have a life span of 12-16 months of every day use like i do. i have a hp pavilion dv5 and its a complete piece of shit! i have problems since day one, had replacements x2 and sent for updates and upgrades of sorts in this year.

I will no longer be buying laptops of a price range of £700 ish as i think its the part of the spectrum of not a great laptop but not a shitty one neither but thats where the problem lies i think.

I think given a laptop life is approx a year or so i will only be now paying for cheaper laptops and selling whats left on ebay after a year and buying new.

You can pick up compaq laptops or simular quality with 250gb hdd and 2gb ram etc for about £400 and tbh you would easily get at least £150 for a good condition laptop in a years time. so i will be doing it like this from now on as every year i get a new laptop for approx £250 or so which i think in the long and short term is a MUCH better option for me.

but saying that, my friends all own ibooks or equivalent and never had 1 problem since owning. 1 has his for 3 years and the battery life is still a good 1.5hrs which i have never had even with my current laptop from new!!!

so its either cheap laptops or mac from now on.

Get an angle grinder (and here is the trick bit, go in before the H+S bods come in) then liberate your bike

er…. exactly! go in an hour before cover all surfaces around if needed incase h and s see it after! ;) and cut the thing off!

the faffing you will have to do with a hacksaw which will do but in a hour or more, where a angle grinder will do it in mins!

they also say dont drive over 70 but bet ya do … where you people from…!

i got my old u lock off mine with one in about 3 mins! reuined one cutting disc but got it off!

so i just got by bike back from another shop. they tell me they have nothing but problems with hayes in particular my brake version ryde.

they put the softest pad in and changed back to 185mm rotor and it still makes the same problems!

the installed everything and still makes the noise.

argh!!!

maybe new brakes are needed instead!

im currently ride a merida transmission 2010 140mm fr and rr shocks.

i find it bottoming out sometimes and dont want to ruin a perfectly good trail bike.

i bought it only 2 months ago yesterday, its a fanstastic bike i love it, great feel etc just need more travel

I took the bike to the shop i bought it from and they say that i need new pads and disc. but it cant be this as i have swapped the brakes front to rear so surly that eliminates this! the discs are new as is the bike!!!!

can i clean my rotors with vodka?? dont have brake cleaner ;)

why did u take the 203mm off the rear, i find it great. it made the same noise with the 185mm so i thought i would change the disc and try it but its the same…

not really wanting to buy new pads as they are only new. lol

as im sure your aware, im wary to buy something for 2k without sitting on one. i will have a think. im 6ft5 also not sure if it will be a little on the smaller side too…
