i live here in austria and wouldnt think twice about not taking my fullface out. i would use the recreation type helmet for xc etc… but anything technical i would go for a ff. on the fact that your on a mountain riding in the middle of a trail and smacking my face in isnt on the high list of things if i come off.

i riding lake garda this summer and wouldnt think twice about taking it there.

also nordkettern also i take it every weekend when riding there also.

i remember when the fuel blockade was on last that lasted a week or two was it?

i lived in a hamlet outside in country. no bus routes to or from and working 50 mile away.

so how did i go to work? by planning ahead and buying shit loads at the time. other colleagues never made it in as they couldnt get it (also from a small villages).

The problem is public transport is shit unless you live within the zones of london! its late, trains overcrowded, overpriced through peak times is lets be honest when most commuters are using it. funny that ;) theres a shit load of tax there that could be used!

your telling me from all the speeding tickets and gatso cameras they still need to charge fuel at these prices? come on…

in my village the public transport is terrible!
2 buses a day through my village now 8.20 or 16.20! thats great for when i started work at 8 ;)

returns get me back at 12 and 8.40 great once again. the price is best 6 mile to leighton buzzard on a pop pop bus costs me a £5. now thats value for money!

get in your car drive it, in the warm where your garanteed a place out of the rain with music and wait for the lorry drivers to get so pisssssssed about it again they block it all up once again.

train journey gatwick to milton keynes £24, i did there and back for that same price.
return jouney for trains is like 5p more anyway.

Think in the region of 26 hours, maybe more, sometimes a little less.

This makes up of 2 hours commuting, 2 x 4 hour night rides ( sometimes more ), and 2 x 4 hour day off rides.

When weather improves and this f'in illness pi55e5 off i'm hoping for 3 night rides per week and 4 – 8 hour rides on days off, so anywhere over 35 hours

i tried it and hated it….

i much prefer the conditions now with it drying up and sunny days.

not because i dont like the cold, because its cold here!!! its just i dont like riding when i have to always be cautious. i like to ride and go for it, not pootle about because i might get covered in snow!

so from now on i ride 3 seasons and winter i stick to ski-ing.

we had a subaru 22b in for alot of work, wehad a secure yard with a mental gate and fence that was easy 15ft high all secured with cameras.
we came into work one morning and to find a completly bare 22b shell in the yard!

no ideas how it happened.

2 days previously a guy came in asking for some parts for a 22b asking for details and prices.

anyhow we only knew it was him because he had the same clothes on and saw his face as he scalled the drain pipe to cut the power feed to the cameras not before looking straight into the camera…(cock)

we watched on camera him throwing the parts from the car over the fence of which he had a ladder on the other side

the police raided his house to find a complete 22b car minus the shell.

this all happened in a time frame of 3 hrs.

he is fast and good because thats all done in the dark lol…

he got no jail time and only 50hrs comunity service and had to return all the parts. The whole car needing respraying as he scratched rear quaters and other parts and needs front arches which are like gold dust.

when i was younger we used to go to haven alot… 3 times a year sometimes always a different one. for me as a child i thought it was great. was a little adventure every time.

the activities are great and always on the bike riding about and swimming was really coool.

i went to take a trip down memory lane with my bro and they want so much money to stay in a caravan in the winter time haha, so we sodded off to the canarys for the same price!

i dont wear one, for just flat xc riding…. or climbs either unless i no its got some funny bits in the decents. i also dont see the point in xc but when you ride xc and have also some technical then i would. also a lot of street riding ie stairs and jumping etc on trails then i do also….

but i see what your saying with just tootling along on a flat…
