Doesn’t seem to be. I’ve recovered 3 of the BelAirs and they’ve been good underneath.

£100 would be the most really.

I don’t like the new Bel Air either, so I find old knackered mk1 saddles like this….

    Take them apart….

    Find some nice leather

    and make it into this….

The leather is way more durable than the original fabric and you can colour code the colour to your bike!

I can’t believe you’d seriously consider wasting spending £2k on a frame which has a known history of cracking and subsequent horror stories.

They can’t deliver such an amazing experience that it’s worth the gamble, surely?

M and s turkeys didn’t arrive in store until the 15th of December (14th for turkey crowns) so it’s likely to be a coding misprint.

Any performance of Caroline by the the Mighty Quo starts with a TEXTBOOK lesson in how to play a guitar properly by Rick. Thrashing chords, perfect rock stance and guitar face.

One of my favourite bands and I am GUTTED I never got to see them in a smaller gig.

Click and turn it up, even if only for Rick at the beginning showing the younguns how it should be done.

I’d be interested to see if the introduction of plus sized minions didn’t go some way to improve mud performance…

I’m not sure how that will help.

    Crappy stuff?

    Same difference. 😉

Just out of interest, why no downtube cables? Shame to not get a frame you love because of that.

I’m planning my extractor and I can see a lot of these fancy designed ones don’t look that well designed when it actually comes to doing the job they are supposed to.

If your ducting is long and complex, maybe with loads of turns and converting from circular to flat you might find that the fan in the extractor simply isn’t strong enough to overcome the back pressure of the pipework. I think a lot of people put the extractor where they want it rather than taking into account that complex ducting may cause problems.

Is there any way to reduce the font size? It’s massive!

Also when you select the box to post a reply it zooms in slightly just enough to make the RHS go off the screen (iOS on iPhone 6). I’ll post a pic if I can to show it.

My brother likes a lot of these weird and wonderful shoes and a lot of them have merit but clogs I just do not understand.
What do they do that is any better than any other shoe?

Just trying the typing thing, trying to see if it scrolls again properly which if I keep typing I can check for petes sake oh maybe it does but not 100% oh well never mind. 😉

The way I’m figuring it is like this. The 29+ bikes you are pretty much stuck with the plus tyres on them.

The Tarn has tyres on that aren’t ginormous, so if you wanted to put some thinner tyres on it for mud it probably wouldn’t mess the handling up too much and the lower BB height would be a plus for muddy areas.

However you’ve also got the option of going for a set of 29er wheels with mud tyres on and the bike would handle just the same and you’d have loads of mud clearance.

Round Huddersfield where I ride it’s mainly rocky. You get the odd bits of mud but not miles of it in long stretches. I’ve always run big tyres round here and yes it gets a bit sketchy in a bit of mud but you expect it and the trade off is worth it for the advantage in the rocky bits.

So the Tarn 20 should work fine as it is, and if I fancy a change the frame will accommodate it. Sounds good?

Might keep my brakes though, I love my 203mm rotor SLX brakes. 😉

I don’t think that is being unreasonable personally.

I’d definitely go small claims, just make sure you have very good paperwork on your side.

The Pitch is my first ever FS and I love it to bits but it’s a bit too much bike for me now. Not doing the big epics any more. I’ve not ridden it much due to illness/injury but it’s pretty tricked out. Going to split and sell it.

Another question – if you got the Tarn 20 27.5+, can you put a spare pair of 29er wheels in – will the forks still be ok? I am assuming that it’ll be fine on the back as its the same frame…..??

    newrobdob

Dave – how was the fork? I don’t know much about the current range of forks from RS not having bought any for a long time. I’m concerned about lack of travel coming from 26″ 160mm Lyrics.

    Great article by the way.

Its available as a frame only, so I was going to suggest that you could build on to your own spec.

I would normally do this, but there is nothing on my Pitch that will fit it – boo! 26″ 135/20mm hope wheels, 30.9 RS dropper, 160mm straight steerer 26″ RS Lyrics, none of it fits!!! The Genesis build is rather a good one too.

I was thinking of getting a smart meter but we are already reasonably careful with our consumption of electric and gas. I don’t want something reminding me how much I’m spending when there’s little I can do about it!

Sell the house and run away if there is any fingernail marks and/or bleach stains around the opening.

The leasehold on my house is for 999 years as the local Lord used to own most of Huddersfield. I get to buy the freehold in 18 months though. 🙂 My yearly rent charge is £2.50.

I have no idea why anyone buys a new house. The pride in building a quality house seems to have diassaprared a long time ago, built with no design flair to the cheapest price they can manage and sold via lies and deceit for the highest price to the biggest sucker. They can’t even resist taking more money after you’ve bought it, as this thread shows.

Generally I find its pending as either your original payment hasn’t cleared from your bank OR the sellers refund payment hasn’t been cleared from their bank.
I’ve always waited until it’s confirmed myself, but sent the person a quick message as to why I’m waiting. Never had a problem that way.

Most mixer taps have some sort of cartridge system nowadays, you might need to replace that. Google the make of the tap and go from there.

Speak to your line manager and ask what you should do with it. Follow their instruction. Maybe ask in an email so you have a record of that decision either way.
