The lack of caring says it all.

Go on then, enlighten us, what does it say?

If people are going to judge me on what I wear, I don’t think they will be the sort of person I will get on with.

There are no rules. Just simple accepted guidelines.

When do get taught these rules? Are they enforced by some up their own arses fashion police? What are the penalties for non compliance?

A quality cup and cone is designed to last and be serviceable. Cartridge bearing hubs are designed so that they are easy to fix when they fail.

For the price there’s not much that can touch an XT hub for longevity. I’ve got some which are 20 years old and still like new.

LOL at Peter Poddy, couple of years in the bike trade and he’s gods gift…

To be fair he was an excellent mechanic for years before he changed careers. We’ve both been servicing cup and cone for 25 years so you do kinda get used to it!

Personally I would pack it all carefully, wrapped up in bubble wrap, all the trains and track electronics and buildings I liked and keep it at my own house until I had space to carry on the tradition myself.

I wish my grandad had had a hobby which I could have taken on like that.

Can’t find any apprentiship schemes anywhere near where we live that will take on anything but teenagers.

Oddly enough I know she’d like to be a trades(wo)man – electrician or something but for a 41yo woman with no experience that’s probably less likely to happen than her becoming an astronaut!!

According to their facebook page, Alpkit are looking for shop folk. Might be a way in to something else…

Only says Ambleside on their website. Bit of a long commute!!

I suppose we really need a application form/interview type job as I know she wouldn’t be able to go round companies cold and sell herself (oi stop sniggering at the back!!!!). With the traditional route we can prep and practice beforehand.

She really doesn’t want to do a sit down at a computer all day job. She can use computers ok but isn’t a huge fan of them. Something outside would be nice, physical activity not an issue.

At the moment we can’t afford to do any extra qualifications or certificates I’m afraid.

She can most basic IT stuff. Suffers from a severe lack of confidence (partly retail beating it out of her, i know as I had it done to me).

WE are going to Steel City Cakes. Hope it’s the right choice. It could be the one thing that lures PP back to the North. 🙂

As an update I ended up paying £240 for fitting which took 1.5 days, first day was spent levelling and screwing units together in prep for the worktops.

Unfortunately We hated the worktops when they were in and swapped them for solid oak which then only cost £140 for fitting.

I can’t believe that there are still people around who think it’s socially unacceptable to wear a short sleeved shirt for work. How sad is that?

I can’t stand long sleeve shirts, always worn short sleeved for work and casual wear. Don’t wear t – shirts at all though.

And another of me, my sister and my cousins. I’m the one sucking his thumb/picking his nose. I have no idea what my cousin Leo is doing behind me!

I think he is having FAR too much fun there!!!

I don’t have any pics from when I was a kid, but I know they’d be like the ones above.

I’m determined to go back to a time like that, simple fun and pleasures, lets make it happen!

Enola May does have a MagicMoneyTree™ after all.

HA HA HA you are so funny. No really you are.

Actually you’re not, just a bit sad. 🙄

Before buying any thing or service have a good long hard think about whether you need it or actually just want it.

Saves a huge amount of money if you are honest about it.

If you follow the rule that any new housebuilder is only in business to screw every single last penny out of any potential buyer then you would a) expect anything b) trust no-one who is trying to sell you the house and c) go and buy a proper older house which isn’t a complete rip-off shanty [inset housebuilders name] shed.

I’d be very concerned if for no other reason about getting to work in the morning. Having a full bottle the previous night I would have thought you’d be over the drink drive limit setting off for work in the morning.

In addition, don’t you think it just a bit sad to be drinking that much anyway??

My Volvo has a non-interference engine so if the belt goes it doesn’t cause any damage. Dont know why all cars aren’t like that.

I know people who’ve had a couple of cheaper stands and ended up spending more than my basic Park PCS9 cost me. My Park doesn’t have a quick release grip, doesn’t fold much (not very portable) but handles my 35lbs enduro type bike fine and is really stable. I’d buy a 2nd Park next time if I had to.

    Well done that man.

Didn’t have to be a hero, probably didn’t want to either, but did it anyway to save the lives of people he had never met and might never again.

I used HouseNetwork and paid £500 ish to sell my house. All the viewers said they had a great experience and my selling experience was great too – and I’m very picky. I’ve since recommended them to a few friends and they’ve used them with the same experience.

There’s a lot of new online places opening up but I chose HouseNetwork as they had been around the longest of all the online places.

You do have to almost choose your own selling price (fairly easy for most common homes) and obviously show people round your house yourself but saving £1500 I was quite happy doing that!!
