I often wonder the same. What do you do if you’re doing a long journey and you’re miles away from home OR the place you’re travelling to and there’s a huge bus connecting link? Never experienced it myself and it does worry me.

I am having the same issue!

My brother is with them and loves them but where I live their coverage was a bit rubbish so I stayed with EE. Get a pay as you go sim to try out – that’s what I did to test their service.

I have no idea what to do – don’t understand what most of you have written above!!

My work is now paying for a private physio as I am struggling to drive more than 30min without getting shooting pains up my right leg. My knee is now starting to be really painful too on the same leg which might be linked but I have put on a fair bit of weight with not being able to exercise and trying to eat my way out of having no energy etc as a result.

My private physio I went to – who was excellent and has amazing results – gave me exercises to do but they aren’t making much difference now. I did some “stepping forward” exercise on the affected leg to get it used to bearing weight again, then calf type “3D” stretches.

Unfortunately most of the physios ive been to are hopeless and only treat the symptoms rather than the underlying issue – this has been the case with the ones my work has paid for. The one I paid for was a local sports physio who properly sorted my neck out after 4 different other private physios just gave me nice massages – worked for a short while but never sorted the problem out. It’s a shame I can’t afford to pay my private physio anymore (£50 a time) now.

All a bit depressing really, I would like to ride my bikes again one day or at least be able to stand up from a sitting position and not have to stifle a pathetic scream each time.

In my experience I think it depends partly on who you see but also a lot on how you approach them and how well the phone has been looked after.

    THIS!!

My phone always looks nice cos I look after it so even after 2 years it still looks pretty new. Why people don’t spend £15 on a decent case when the phone can be £700+ I don’t know.

I used to work in retail and would have the same approach, if something looks abused then you are more likely to be suspicious about how a fault occurred.

I’ve taken phones on contract with EE back to an Apple Store and they sorted it out fine. You don’t need to buy it from Apple direct unless they’ve changed it very recently.

    What does insertional pain mean?

    newrobdob

I think the imflamed bit of muscle above my achilles is making it hurt more, the achilles is tender to touch for sure but not painful as much as the muscle is.

Whats a walker boot? (surely not an actual walking boot i.e. for hiking?)

I need an amplifier to complete my dining room system, have a nice sony CD player and picked up some lovely little gale speakers off freecycle for £0 in mint condition but I don’t have an amp.

    not interested in bluetooth/multiroom/wifi stuff!!

    newrobdob

Yes a phono pre-amp. Signal from a TT isn’t strong enough for a normal line input, modern amps don’t tend to have a phono pre-amp built in like old ones did so you need a seperate amp.

Cost me £130 to get my bathroom done by a pro. No chance I’d do it myself if its that cheap (tiles were extra £ obv).

Advice needed – I have been offered a Project Debut 2 turntable from a friend for £40, I know he will have looked after it and its recently had a new cartridge. Anything I should look out for and tips on setup/cheap mods?

I’ll also need a phono stage but they seem quite spendy, any ideas?

I’ve had Achilles pain in both legs for 2.5 years now. Can’t cycle or run properly, added loads of weight on and pretty down about it to be honest. happened when I did a C2C with my saddle too high (I think) and has not been right since. Been to a very good private physio but I can’t afford to keep going although they have had great results with my neck previously.

Don’t know what to do now. Any resources online which might help?

Doing various stretches and exercises which basically just stretch out my calf and Achilles, they relieve it but haven’t sorted it out so I still walk with a limp. very painful. I daren’t try to start running again. Using a foam roller but that doesn’t seem to do much.

The worst bit it an area between the Achilles and calf where the muscle is very tense and sore, painful to the touch.

Because they are not actually free and there are costs associated with them. You pay 3 – 5% of the value as a fee.

Only if you transfer a balance to one. I got two to help renovate my house and have spent on them but don’t intend to transfer to another card within the time limit – the one I got was 28 months 0% on new purchases….

It would be better to get a quality frame that fits well and put Deore kit on it (which works brilliantly) and some fairly standard wheels than go for the bling and end up changing it again.

I’d agree with you, spending thousands on a complex used frame (does it still have the warranty?) gives me the heebie-jeebies…

Zero percent credit card. I got one recently for 28 months with a £10k credit limit 😯 Only want to use £2k ish which I can pay back within 2 years with no interest.

Even if I had to transfer a smaller balance to a new 0% card later the small fee would be way less than the interest on a loan.

Most places that retail EEE have an obligation to take back WEEE, so try your local PC World. Try council website as well, should inform you.

If you ride the Beast without knowing what it is you’d say at the bottom “chuff me that was a beast of a descent”. So then you’d know where you are! Can’t be any other reason it’s called that surely?

Farron had to resign for being a Christian let’s hope this **** gets his arse kicked for it as well.

So if you are Christian then you aren’t allowed to be in a political party then?

I used to think “well it’s Honda, they are bound to sort the issues out and have an awesome engine any day now”. But I’ve lost faith in that, it just seems as bad now as it was when they first returned. Maybe a little faster but all the comedy grid penalties and breakdowns are just plain embarrassing now.

McLaren can’t wait forever, Honda are a bit of a laughing stock really.

Did anyone see Vandoorne’s slide? That’s car control.

    Yes! Really amazing.

I have a lot of sympathy for Alonso, I never liked him before either. But Vandoorme has quietly got on with the job, no moaning or grandstanding but regularly outperforming Alonso. Hopefully that won’t go unnoticed with whoever hires and fires in F1.

Cost me £80 for a local bloke to do the same, he used all his Jetters and CCTV too. No fancy van signwriting or uniform, just a 50ish guy who really knew his stuff. I asked him how much he charged when I phoned him, he said £80 per hour. I asked how long these things normally take and he answered “well if I can’t do it in one hour it’s a bit of a poor do isn’t it?” I thought yes, that’s the guy I need!

I think he’s asking about the condensing boxes you can buy from Argos. They attach to normal vented drier hoses to try and convert them into a condenser dryer. I think they are generally pretty crap.

However a condenser dryer is good.

I’ve heard they are crap. Cutting a hole and fitting some duct is a couple of hours work, anything else is a faff for many years!!

What’s the age range like on these games (realistically, not what it says on the box)?

We play a few basic board and card games at home with the kids. “Pigs In Pants” can be surprisingly strategic
But my eldest is 7 so it might be time to move onto something more involved (She has played and enjoyed Monopoly).

I would have thought if they can do well at Monopoly something like TTR would be a good game to try.

Open Pros on Ultegra hubs here. Don’t feel any heavier than my previous reduced spoke wheels, ride really smoothly and top quality. And personally I prefer the look of traditional spokes wheels.

There is a “big box” Carcasonne package coming out next month for £70 ish which has the original game and nearly all the expansion packs in it as well.

I like Small World but haven’t quite got to grips with the timing of when to go into decline so I tend to hang on too long.

OP is probably the sort that laments the lack of community spirit and social cohesion and then shuts the door on anyone who dares to actually do something about it. Just as his neighbour tried to do. 🙄

King of Tokyo is another favourite in this house

I don’t like it as there as so many different power up cards to collect and it gets really confusing – you have to have played the game multiple times and seen the effect of the cards to know if they are worth having or not.

^ that one you replied to last with another account

    Yeah I killed that thread didn’t I? 😳

Not played Carcassonne yet. I do like the games where you have a visual idea of how many victory points people have but at the end you all reveal your special cards which multiply up so someone who is in last can win! Its hard to keep quiet when you know you might be that person.

StoneAge is quite expensive as a game, but although I am getting into these board games as an antidote to the phone/tablet I might download the app anyway.

I like my next door neighbour. Our other neighbours said they were “nosey and always watching out and knew everyone’s business”.

I have found out that this translates to:
1)They look out for suspicious characters,
    2) putting our bins out wheb we forget
    3) helping to look after our garden before we moved in (house was empty for a while beforehand)
    4) knowing a lot of history about the street and who lived there
    5) advising is what the original windows looked like so we could get new ones that matched
    6) helping us with what plants to put in the garden and offering us free ones from theirs
    7) offering use of their bathroom when we were renovating our house
    8) sorting out a window cleaner for us
    9) making sure tradesmen didn’t block our drive

So I’ll gladly live next to the so-called (by others) “nosey neighbour”.
