We are all going to be old one day, but I for one think a ‘retirement’ test should be taken perhaps every 5 yrs – at the moment I think its left to a Doctor to assess wether old people are entitled to be allowed to drive.
There are so many drivers of an age that seem to have no spacial awareness or any interest in what is going on behind them while they plod along at 20mph.

When you buy a Specialized saddle you get measured across your sit bones – this helps with comfort later on, I use a Specialised Phenom, its light and razor thin but after a few rides to get used to it – it is now extremely comfortable.. yse saddle choice is important if you ride for long periods and not short blasts.

The best way to get about in the first couple of days – especially if its a first visit is to buy 48hr buss passes off the greyline buses – hop on and off where ever you like, tour guids thrown in – also do the liberty helicopter big apple flight – not that expensive but a good trip ( only about 5-6 mins long tho’) – But – the best value trip I have had is totally free – go down to battery park ferry terminal and catch the totally free Staten Island Ferry – the views of downtown manhatten are brilliant from the ferry, dont waste time going to the statue of liberty, go up the rockerfeller ( the lift has a glass roof ) brilliant.

NHBC is pants – its a licence for the builder to laugh at you..

The Novotel on 52nd & Broadway is a very good budget end hotel, I stayed there in 2006 and found the location to be quiet and also great for the touristy thing.
2008 I stayed in the Westin Times Square – upmarket 42nd & 8th, beautiful rooms but I paid for a high floor with a view so paid a supplement – beds to die for..
The room was quiet cos it was so far up (45th floor) but great views.

why dont car manufacturers just do away with sidelights and use proper lighting instead ? parking lights could be wired so that they only come on if the handbrake is used ?

WELL SOME PEOPLE DO NEED A KICK UP THE ARSE … if confronted by managers etc, explain to them the amount of worktime that was lost because the staff they employ need their hands held all the time etc, the fact you were ther doing the job you are paid to do is a bonus to him and not a drain on his resources – ( in effect turn the complaint around).
