Takisawa2 and myself were going to Nant Y Arian a couple of weeks ago and agreed to share a car rather than take 2. So T2 came to my house wich is 2miles from J13 – M6.. We were not intending to go along the M6 but use the A449 and then join the M54…
So we got to J13 wich also is a junction of the intended A449 towards M54.
However, after about 400 yards along the A449 we came to a standstill and from where we were it looked like the road had been blocked sometime and cars were turning round and heading back to J13…
So I turned round and did the same… We got on M6 intending to get off at J12 (A5) .. Half a mile along the motorway we ground to a complete halt. It took 1.5 hrs to do 4 miles to J12 (A5) as we neared J12 over head gantries informed us of the complete closure of the M6 from J12 to J13 – the whole motorway was coned off forcing cars off at J12… The motorway had been closed since around 3am that morning but the police had done nothing at all to close off any of the feeder slip roads or even post warning information… this is very typical of the organisation of traffic controllers / police in this area..

I always look at what gear ratio the ponce is in when he passes me, when you have been on a bike long enough you can usually tell by the cadence – ie, you know what gear you are using, and when you catch the breathless **** at the top shout out to your mates, “made it in my big ring and eigth sprocket – or something to that efect”

I started when I was a young kid – but never even knew I was mountain biking cos mountains had not been invented then, I have lived all my life on the edge of Cannock Chase and we all used to ride various trails in the late 60 – early 70s, I then got interested in gals! then had a Halfords special during the early 80s, then had a another Halfords special then met into some workmates who converted me to proper bikes about 2000 so all in all 9 yrs serious but could easily state over 40yrs on and off..

A good friend of ours re-trained as a teacher, full of enthusiasm at the beginning but now all we tend to see is her social life has become disrupted as not all schoolwork is done in the classroom, no end of times have we visited to find her piled high marking homework and / or planning lessons. She says she enjoys the job but after a few bevvies the odd comment appears which lets us know different.

I used to have that problem with my frame, to stop it I cleaned the frame lovingly by hand , then polished the frame with a good quality car wax, bike cleans nicely now.
