Vit C post I did earlier.. looked at info about Vit C and found that it does help with strenuous excercise – lack of energy – so I assume I accidently found the answer to my own hydration problems as stated earlier.

I dont know how related this is but lets go…
I used to suffer badly on early morning rides, lacked energy, felt horrid during the ride and usually ended up with a headache sometime after.

These symptons never ever bothered me on a afternoon / evening ride.

Early morning rides I used to hydrate prior to the ride at home and drink plenty during the ride etc – I used to drink lots after the ride at home but always felt shit…

I started taking Vitamin C every morning and cos of this when hydrating prior to an early ride used the vit c tablet in water as my pre ride drink…
Since then I have had no problems during or after an early ride.. Its now part of my routine prior to any ride.. any thoughts anyone ??

Wife; TODAY; I took her to Waitrose in Lichfield and, cos’ I do not live in Lichfield took a wrong turning and headed for Sutton instead of Walsall. Any way I thought no bother I will pick up the new ring road that turned out to be incomplete so followed diversions through new housing development trying to get back on track.. Finally got to Waitrose.
Walking round Waitrose my Wife said “are we going the same way back” .. not bloody likely was my response… she actually wanted to stop off in Rugeley but never said that bit… WIMIN.. do your heads in…

Never had an issue with my Trance since I started doing the following..I would start by checking the rear mech has not had a clout – hangers seem prone as I have had to straighten mine out a couple of times. Then check if the ‘b’ screw needs a small tweek as this affects 4 / 5 cogs mostly. I always try to use teflon coated cables and also flak jackets for the rear mech as I think its prone to grime if left bare.

I just looked at the planes due to display today at Cosford… besides the Typhoon it was the same old same old as every year… whats the point of it…

I invested in a set of cone spanners… wow !!!

Believe it or not, but a extension piece off a 3/8″ socket set is the ideal tool for DIY insertion – the socket head sits nicely across the star nut and enters the head tube with just a small amount of clearance – you do not get the star nut wobbling sideways etc…

Planned to get out but rode the sofa all weekend… darned downpours and spectacles !!!

My chain broke after climbing the legburner at N-Y-A its a 2 mile climb and used middle ring all the way up, maybe put too much tension onto the chain ?

Strange – I have had a recent experience with a SRAM chain PG990 ? or somat like that… broke twice in one ride at Nant Y Arian – 2 different places.. the first break I had used a spare power link to fix but the second snap was elsewhere on the chain… I had experienced chain snaps b4 but thought nothing of them…
Not had Shimano snap…

I have this – started removing helmet on climbs (only fire roads) and other pootle along bits of my rides when warm.. always put it back on for techy bits tho’
I started using a bandanna – good for keeping the sweat from eyes but increased heat on head..
