I dont think the moulded / over-moulded handles cost much either. I think we should all stop shaving till Gillette goes bust.

I drop mine all the time.. I think they are designed with a few minor knocks in mind.. If it wasnt a new helmet would be needed every ride by me as I always seem to crack mine against low hanging branches, drop it when changing ect. I think the helmets require a 'major shunt' to make them worthless. I binned mine recently after a major shunt. All the interior moulding cracked due to the impact.

Shave in cold water. use a mirror. dont do it in a blackout. never ever let your mrs borrow it. dont use it on the dog / cat. dont buy a complementary roadbike.. dont start wearing lycra.

I grew up when the 'holiday' was the social club trip to Blackpool, mainly went late 60 / early 70s so old enough to go roaming with any mates who were on the trip. I remember the Cat & Mouse ride ? and the Log Flune as being the ultimate then. But, I would love todo the 'wooden roller rides' Ive seenon TV, supposedly awesome..

Being from the Midlands (Oh go on then Staffordshire).. when I was due to leave school the careers advisors always pushed apprentiships.. mainly Coalboard, and to a huge degree if you chose the correct apprentiship and got accepted it was ace, a lot of my then friends went that way.
I decided to enter an engineering apprentiship (not Coalboard) and I have found throughout my career of 3 Jobs in since 1974 and never out of work that was the correct decision for myself.. the careers advice to get an apprenticeship was therefore spot on.

Did anyone make 'Dutch Arrows' when they were kids..
IE; Knicks the jokers from your dads pack of card, get a nice straight piece of willow wood, let it dry out a bit, sharpen one end and split the other end for about 2 inches, make some flights out of the jokers, put them into the 2 slots, tie the end of the willow stick to stop flights coming out. Job done.. Next nick a lace out of one of your dads workboots, tie a knot in one end, go down the longest field you could find.. wrap lace round the shaft of the arrow – some where near the flight, allow lace to fold over the knot and wrap the lace around your fingers till you could hold the arrow near the point… aim for the sky. throw with all your might at the horizon.. a good arrow could land over the length of a footy field away… brilliant, when with mates like Agincourt..
