The extra part they give you is what is removed from a standard mech to allow it to fit to a direct mount frame I think.

Is it not a direct mount to the frame ?

I did tha massif.it was my first time doing an event like this I found the mud at the beginning hard work and nearly quit at the point where the 2 routes split but kept going and really enjoyed it after that.the route was good I thought the section through the woods after the last feed station a pain in the @r$e too muddy for my tired legs and the last climb into the forest was a killer for me but on the whole a good day on the bike.the organisation was great and the feed stations were a godsend plenty of food and drink kept me going big thanks to everyone involved.I’ll be doing more of these in the future but am going to have to train a bit more and maybe try a different bike to make it a bit easier on myself was ok on my 5010 but think it would have been much easier on a xc 29er or cx bike.legs are aching a bit which is why I’m up at 3:25 in the morning writing this

Definitely going to demo both if I can.i think alpine bikes at glentress might be getting some fuels in as part of their hire fleet soon it would be nice to try one there too.

Cheers rsvktm I’ll be taking both for a demo as soon as I can.was up at big bear bikes in Pickering yesterday really great service from David they let me try a fuel ex 9.8 29 and a remedy 7 back to back in there car park for over an hour switching bikes over and over.decided I prefer the fuel over the remedy the 29 fuel felt pretty spot on and if the 27.5 felt anywhere near as fast as the 29 that would be great.

Do the black, red is very dull in places a lot of effort with very little reward.the black is great though make sure you do transmission/accelerator/nitrous section 3fast flowing fun bits of trail straight after each other worth going just for this bit.
