I have a feeling that this is a publicity piece, I don’t think we need to worry about disabled people getting away with too much yet.

The only thing I can think of is to keep a dairy of all the problems, I realise this would be a depressing task in itself, but treat it as a data gathering exercise. When the patient attends any appointment or review they would have a detailed record of symptoms and effects, which might prompt further treatment, at a minimum, should counteract the stoicism.

For the blacking you can use rust converter, active ingredient is usually Tannic acid, so has an etching effect.

Do you get a flashing light on the control unit? This can flash in a sequence that shows what the fault is. Search for fault codes and find out which model is fitted.

Car clubs are becoming more common, trouble is a lot of people are not very good at sharing.

I thought he lost his mathematical ability due to the chemical castration drugs that he was forced to take.

EDIT – His conviction, for being gay, also removed his security clearance, so affected which job and where he could work.

Does this men the all the Ar15 variants are not actually Ar15s because they do not have the automatic fire option either?

I have no experience of these frames, look very nice though, are you sure the base of the seat tube has not been drilled internally but above the BB? So that cable runs straight from down tube to seat tube without passing through the BB shell. It would be a much more relaxed bend for the cable to follow.

    Crap timing OP!

A lot of people do install cartridge bearings dry or with a smear of grease, personally I put a decent layer of waterproof grease in with them just for weather protection.

    Good and bad.

Don’t like it, don’t do it.

Would look very nice with blue blutos, IMO, quite a lot of work to get the custom finish.

Colour matching will be either by someone with a wealth of experience or by machine, as above. It should be a good enough match that you will not be able to tell the difference.

I don’t think a professional painter will be willing to go over the original finish, I could be wrong, so it would be a strip back and then respray with the additional time involved with masking up for the different colours. If you want a hard finish in a decent amount of time then a bake will be best, so complete strip down of forks to consider too.

EDIT – Just seen your pic after posting, very nice! Is that two shade of blue or one?

You want to paint the lowers on the Bluto to match the rigid forks?

As above try some heat, hot air gun or boiling water.

Old screwdriver, file or grind the the tip down and put a bend in it to use as a pry bar.

If you have a dremel and the right bit, you can remove some material in 2 or 3 places, to make the outer race more flexible.

It sounds like it was installed dry and/or has poor sealing, as above, maybe a full new top set would be a better bet.

Looking at the tyres it seems unlikely that it’s been ridden before those photos were taken. On the downtube, it looks like flecks of paint are still on the cabling.

I would think that it is probably damaged in transit, and you are responsible for the packing. We all know you can’t trust a courier as far as you can chuck a bike in a box.

I still think the suggested repair cost is a bit high, and the price of the paint smells off, but it’s three smallish scratches to the frame and some black on the fork. Ignoring the chain suck.

I suggest trying to come to a better agreement with the buyer.

How long had the buyer been in possession of the bike before reporting the damage?

I’d be inclined to get it out, clean up, pick out the seals, rinse and re-pack. Re-install with waterproof grease, you should be able to ride for a bit longer unless it’s totally knackered.

I have a couple of pairs of Sealskinz, they do tend to suck up. Only one pair are a decent warmth in colder weather.

My new theory, which I have not tested yet, is to try some work gloves designed for cold store use.

    Something like these: Link

Sorry, no idea on sizing, but that does seem excessive for a couple of bearings.

The original may have the size engraved on the casing, otherwise you will need to measure it, if you have a vernier gauge or micrometer. Someone else might have done this and know the size already, maybe start a new thread with a more specific title.

Simplybearings or Bearingboys should have replacements.

It only takes a little grit or rust to bind up, a good spray lube to try and wash it out. Best to try and drift it out from underneath, keep moving the drift around on the bearing to walk it out. Don’t just hit it on one side, you can ovalise the seat. Pry it out as a last resort.

I have the Teng set, nice to use but the coating is not that good, so they will rust depending on how they are kept.

What lives in my toolbag is a set of Wera Hex-plus stainless.

Last time I complained, the staff sounded miserable and generally defeated.

The residents would have been informed by post, the council should have also put up notifications on the street and parking suspension signs before the work was carried out. It must be fairly rare for someone to not check on their car for a month, not sure what your chances are of winning an appeal.
