    With original stem?

    What size stem?

It’s a bit hard to understand how this went wrong without knowing all the details. Sounds like you are in the right but the easiest way to get matching items would be through the original supplier.

How many doors and panels are needed?

If this had been spotted earlier the easiest option would have been to pack out the 4mm difference between units. Probably too late now if everything else has been installed.

It’s worth talking to Trading Standards but I don’t think they will be able to do much for you.

Approach other companies and get some quotes for either new doors to be made, or the ones you have remade, so that they fit. If they can not confirm the match will be perfect then get all new doors made.

Remove any old doors that are no longer needed and return to original company. Pay them cost of kitchen less cost of new doors and any other costs incurred.

    IANAL.

What about hammeriting the frame to keep metallic finish, anyone tried?

I have not used it for a long time so the the formula may have been improved. Hammerite does/did take a long time to fully cure, so unless you can home bake it will be 2 to 3 weeks before you can put it back together.

If you are still thinking about painting yourself, U-POL no.8 etch primer is good, at halfords.

A home painted finish, and most professional too, will never be as tough as powder coating though.

You need to sort this out with your wife, the first problem is between the two of you, and the lack of agreement.

I’ve seen it happen with friends, both intelligent and one being a psychologist, ultimately lead to divorce and much unpleasantness for all involved.

first question before the above would be, why weren’t they teaching them some bike handling skills firstly before taking them out on a public road, some of them were wobbily to say the least!

Couldn’t agree more. Again the national standard is to teach handling skills, use of gears and brakes all off road first.

As you say, if there is no one to signal to, why take your hands off of the bars?

Who the hell teaches people to stick their hand out and move into another lane without looking behind them? (I actually I saw some school teachers teaching some kids to do this the other week outside my flat

That is not what the national standard for bike training teaches.
A rider should check behind often and especially before changing direction.

I was tempted to say something but I didn’t.

You should have asked them if they were accredited.

    I have the 27.2/100mm.

There is 8mm clearance between the fixed post and the cable entry fitting so this easily fits over a standard seatpost clamp, like Hope for example.

The fitting at the top of the static post is 35mm top to bottom. Fully compressed, 65mm from highest clampable section to centre of seatrails.

RM delivery times and staff quality seem to have fallen into a black hole around here, North London.

I recently had a package that was shown as “loaded for delivery” for a few days, it was only after I phoned them that its joyride came to an end and was taken out of the wrong van and put in the correct one. When it finally turned up the driver said “What’s in here, diamonds?”

So 6 days for a next day delivery service, that I had to re-direct myself, by calling three different numbers.

I have dairy intolerance too, but it varies and used to be much more severe. I can eat some cheese and butter but avoid milk, yoghurt and ice cream. Eating any of these used to give me stomach pain, the runs and very bad breath.

Alpro soya juice works for me on cereals, but nothing else. I have some milk in tea and coffee, and pizza are all fine. The heat breaks down the protein for me.

I have not ridden one but the bike and fork both get good reviews.

The fork will be air sprung which means it is very tuneable and you should only have problems if you are very light or very heavy.

You need to get the manual, if it was not provided, which you can usually download from the manufacturers site. Get a suitable pump and then get riding with the forks set to your body weight.

I’ve also done a fair bit of car kipping in Scotland and in a camper at Val Thoren without a working heater. With a reasonable quality synthetic sleeping bag you’ll be okay, either double up with lots of space inside or get 5 season bag.

Don’t park up too far off the beaten track, check what the local law allows and be aware of the weather conditions. A few beers inside and a fresh dump outside could leave you very short on oxygen.

As above, you will not be able to dry gear and warm boots, you can keep the inners in the bottom of your bag. Bear in mind that you will be in the car for a fairly long time so weigh up the cost of food, drink, warmth and company (delete as appropriate) at an apres bar compared to what you can sort out at a hostel taking some drink and food with you.

If you are planning to commute by bike you will probably get enough “fun” on the road to want to spend your free time there, but there are some nice road rides heading up out of town best find a club run.

Epping is good, miles of graded paths and singletrack, most of which you can do on a CX bike if you needed to. You can ride there and back on the River Lee towpath.

Trains to Surrey Hills and Swinley from London Bridge and Waterloo.

Pump tracks at Haggerston Park and the Lordship loop, Tottenham.
