American e-bike/pedalelec rules are not the same as EU, so not directly comparable to here.

Current US street legal limit is 750w output, and 20mph cut off, although there is a loophole that allows up to 28mph.

Retail electric bike top-speed of 28-MPH, a new US-legal strategy

    I’ve no idea what a FACTBo(‘)cks is.

FTFY – Local dialect, should read FACTBollocks.

I always carry some quick link pliers and welding gauntlets in my pack for these kind of mechanicals.

You are obviously a wussy and need to MTFU.

We all know how POV cameras have a different depth of field than the human eye and how intentions can be misunderstood on forum posts.

My 2p, that was a ******* idiot manoeuvre by the driver, it would not have had to be too much tighter before leaving the rider nowhere to go. How else, apart from touch their vehicles and shout, can you wake up these zombie drivers?

I had a great ride on Sunday, during the 10 minute ride from train station back to home, 3 drivers decided they wanted to be where I was.
The most ignorant was driving halfway into a bike lane, on his phone and pretending not to notice me riding towards him. I gave his mirror a flick on the way past. You can burn me now.

Mine has one valve in the cap, one in the bottom. Before fitting the valve stems to the bottle, I have put a locking collar, then a large washer, then a 1/2″ tap washer and this seals very easily.

With both valves in the cap it’s a bit crowded but you could probably use normal washers and the smaller size tap washer (3/8″).

    That’s proper rubbish.

I’m assuming it’s a straight steerer and the headtube diameter would not fit a tapered steerer.

You could get some rigid forks and a single speed kit, probably need a tensioner too. Then pick up some second hand suspension forks and shifters before the summer.

Did your OH apply direct or was it through a pop-up ad?

If this company has a web site, go on use false details to get through to payment details page, you might be able to open the T & C’s to know exactly what you are up against before accepting any offer. Personally I would aim for a full refund from the bank or CC company, rather than let these scumbags get anything and you can’t really trust the guy you have spoken to either..

It seems there are a few doing the same type of scam, usual language is a ‘Risk free trial’ or similar. I have seen where the T & C’s include a clause where delivery is assumed once the item has been passed to the shipping company, more BS.

I think it’s a good question, if just out of interest, not envy.

Then we can ask for photos and slate the gardens.

Mask 2 will do for the sanding, Mask 1 very good for the painting.

And if you have a beard you’ll need the chin extension pieces too.

Screwfix delivery is free over £50, Toolstation is free over £10, not sure about sending it back if it failed.

Sorry, I don’t know about the bottom end of the market 20 to 30 quid, if you are going to use it again then maybe spend a little more.

As above, the blade is usually 82mm so take care with gouging the boards. You can clamp two or three boards together to get less overlap, or wasted passes.
Don’t do all your passes in one direction, unless the grain is lifting badly, swap the boards or yourself round often.
Keep an eye on the blade, if it gums up with resin, give it a shave with a good stanley blade with the power off.
Have a bit of scrap board with a small step of timber screwed to it so you can put the machine down without damaging the blade, they are quite brittle.

I’m sure most of the cheap machines would get through that job, and if not you should be able to take it back for a refund, Screwfix for sure.

Generally the cheaper ones have less of a cut, which means more passes, but that should result in a better finish on the timber.

There is a common design fault with many of the more expensive ones that have switchable side chip exhaust ports, often a restriction in the moulding that blocks up easily. I had to take my Bosch, professional(?) 2.6mm cut, apart and get busy with the epoxy to smooth out the pinch point.

Addressing abnormal gut flora may be considered by some as a plausible treatment.. perhaps this was what sparked his suggestion?

Some propose fecal transplants and bleach enemas as autism treatments too. He is just cuckoo woo woo.

I also think that Bikeability should be part of the driving test, it might just encourage a few more to ride somewhere too.

TurnerGuy – Here is a big issue – should vehicles with restricted visibility be allowed on roads like this?

Surely they are not fit for purpose in such environments.

I agree with what your saying, the key elements seem to be crash resistance and sound insulation as well as aesthetics too.

I think it’s time for smaller and greener delivery vehicles carrying mini-containers that can be dropped on site and more car sharing in big urban areas.

there are parents waiting for any straw they can grab

It’s not just the parents either, those with the condition but classed as “higher functioning” are also often looking for a solution and will often struggle to rationalise this kind of mis-information.

Good to hear too. It sounds like he is getting very good care.

I know that is very easy to say, but try not to think too much about the long term right now. Take care of yourself and those who are going through this with you.

    Best wishes. Neil.

It seems to be the same as most things in life. If the person you deal with actually gives more than half a shite then it usually works out okay.

Used to have a decent postie, she now only works half a week, Parcelforce and DPD drivers, the current ones are crap. I have to keep half an eye out for them and “meet’n’greet” if i’m expecting a delivery.

Does anyone have a source for cheap but decent cable outer (maybe a box)?

Singletrack bikes, Shimano SP41, 15 quid for 10m.
    LINK

Lucemill Plastic bottles for IPA, Acetone and any plastic bottle you could possibly want.

    LINK[/url]

I carry some pre-injection wipes from the chemist too, 70% IPA and good for cleaning oily fingers after a trail side chain fettle.
Nitrile gloves from hardwear shops, leyland SDM, the latex ones are even cheaper but make my hands sweat. Cost about £10 for a box of 100, less than half price of the Park Tool branded ones.

If the stem and steerer are the same diameter, it’s theoretically possible but not advisable.

If the stem is 1″ and the forks 1 1/8″ then it’s possible but still quite a bit of work involved, and it won’t be very pretty.

The Marathons are good, I have had good results with Michelin Pilot Sport 26″ tyres. They are lighter with more grip and cheaper too. I think there are 700c versions in 28 and 35 flavours.

I’m glad you didn’t get run over.

anyone else that believes coloured clothing makes an iota of difference – how does that fit your outlook?

It’s very hard to stand behind that argument. If you wear bright riding clothes it is more likely that you will be noticed early by most drivers.
