For me, as others have remarked, the brilliance is in Gilmour’s restraint as a guitarist. every note has a purpose. hearing him wring out endless variations on his solos on Comfortably Numb, for example, was a pity. also their sax player had the crappest mullet ever.

kryton57 – have you ever had a course in CBT? Talk to your GP about it. I found it very useful, even if only from the insight it gave me into the kinds of feelings I get, how common and well-recognised this mental state is and how you can challenge your thoughts.

I would talk to your insurance company and get the place professionally cleaned and possibly redecorated. We have solid fuel heating and one day my wife went to work, forgetting to close the ash box door on the stove. The central heating boiled, causing all the wallpaper to peel off the walls and ruining carpets etc. the insurance coughed up for it.
