I fix punctures using homeopathy. I grind up a thorn, mix it into a swimming pool of water and add a drop through the valve hole. Works every time.

It’s also worth looking at the exit route for the cable and outer at the shifter end. Not too familiar with 105 10 speed but with Dura Ace there are 2 possible routes you can choose. thread the inner through the outer at the shifter end, put the outer into the cable stops and hold tight to the loose cable. Shift through the gear and feel how much friction there is simply in that one piece of outer casing, it may surprise you. Either try the alternative route (if there is one) or look for ways of reducing the drag on the cable where it enters the outer casing in the shifter.

Bearings – I’ve always used simplybearings. Don’t know how they compare for price but they always deliver next day.

I found bags of rubbish on a footpath, containing names, addresses and other identifying documents. I tracked the owner down through Facebook. She was a law student who had recently graduated. She says she put out all her rubbish for the council to take. In which case it was either her landlord or someone looking to steal an identity.
OP was just returning property to its rightful owner.

Lift the seals off the bearings and squeeze some grease in before you fit them, otherwise you’ll be changing them again after half a dozen wet rides.

Oh God, so many…

I had to sub a report from a freelance at a Crown Court to go into a news bulletin. It ran to 3 pages of dense print and I had about 10 minutes. Somehow an important piece of information got distorted in the process.
Next morning I was up before the judge with my employers’ lawyers explaining what had gone wrong. Luckily he believed it was a genuine mistake and none of the jury had head the report anyway…
