I wonder if they will have a minimum points entry system (like the BDS) ?

There would have to be regional rounds first wouldn’t there for this to happen?

due to big sale they have on

Not good enough in my eyes, they plan for the sale surely?

I paid for next day delivery and it came a day late, I just wrote it off and won’t be using them unless it’s the last resort. Really poor service now and well down the list when I’m ordering stuff.

None of this was Steve’s fault, he had so many balls to juggle that yes, once or twice balls were dropped but this was inevitable in a new sport. The timing was bollox but again, this wasn’t Steve’s fault. But this undermined the whole event/series. The timing company should be ashamed of their performance over the last two years because its been a shambles

If the timing element is sorted Steve leaves behind a lasting legacy that I’m certain will succeed.

I might sack it off and head up to Scotland. I’m not after a boutique B&B, I’m just after somewhere functional to stay. We’ll be heading to a pub for a few pints and something to eat. Seems Scotland is more switched on for this type of thing.

I guess (IMO) I’m lucky to have Gisburn only 30-40 minutes away from me. I’ve had some really good rides there and some especially good night rides. It’s not the be all and end all but then no trail is.

Until recently I was using a MRP Mini G2, had it on for 18 months and never lost the chain once so can definitely recommend one. However I’ve just returned from the alps and all I had was a front mech (gone to 2×10 for some climbing) and a clutch rear mech. Didn’t loose the chain all week…….. Make of that what you will :)

Not sure on price but for wheel building quality Paul Hewitt Cycles (Leyland) are amazing. I wouldn’t go anywhere else

The Singletrack weekender works on a similar format doesn’t it? DH, XC and trials but I don’t think they require a FF for the DH?

Listen, i’m not poo pooing the event. When I’m based in the NE again I will certainly try and make it but I do think this has been an obstacle for people.

We had a days guiding with Steve while we were out in Les Arcs, he’s a top bloke and was very easy to get on with. He also showed us an unbelievable 60km route that was dh for nearly 45km!

I would certainly have no hesitation about recommending Steve and his staff for holidays. I’m considering it for next year myself.

Roof – Thule 591’s all the way in my book.

    had both and this ^

Tow bar is a little more fuel efficient all not as much as I’d have thought. But the faff of loading them and getting into the boot means for me the roof mounted Thule racks are my choice.

I meant why not call it an enduro dh? Listen I think it’s a great idea, it’s just it limits people entering if you need a full face. I really don’t have need for one (unless the Gravity Enduro series ask for it soon) so its just not worth buying for me personally.

Then don’t call it an DH race………

I’m sorry Simon I’m in agreement with the overpriced argument. I’m sure it’s a good product, but I just can’t justify that amount for the product.

seven people have very kindly said they’ll help out on Sunday, but we do need a few more. This week not only do we need marshals but we also need some people to help the timing team. Remember, without these volunteers we can’t run the race, so, if your coming to race could your friend/partner/driver help in any way?

Please get in touch if so.

I’ve been to the alps 2/3 times on superstar pads and they haven’t worn any different to any other brand
