My blur ltc used to go through them in 8-10 months, one of the few things that annoyed me about it.

My girlfriend has ultra sport something or other, its an alloy one but has some really nice touches, shes really pleased with it and it far from looks like some generic Chinese copy, I think little by little they are chipping away at becoming a legitimate alternative to the established brands

Shep I’d also be interested in a littler guidance around that area, even though I’m from just up the road I haven’t ridden there much at all. I’d bring cake :)

There’s two trails apparently, a blue and a red. Red opens at the end of the month i think, nice shop there too

I’ve been blown away with how well my fireline rides, it handles everything in its stride and is extremely comfortable. But like i say £1k for that parkwood is brilliant. Geometry is very similar too isn’t it?

I have a fireline, i genuinely think its brilliant but the value of that parkwood is hard to beat.

I love the idea of electronic shifting, i see it as a natural progression from mechanical. But the price just compounds the ridiculousness of what the mtb community has condoned.

I dont think theyre trading, I tried for a week to get through to them too, thought about keeping trade in the area but ended up having to go elsewhere

Honestly, my Titus Fireline Ti has been a complete revelation. I’m a trail rider, not an xc whippet, but i like descending climbing the works and my hardtail fireline is as good as anything I’ve ridden in my 23 years riding mtb so far. I was lucky, i got mine second hand off a lad off here for a good price but I’d have happily paid full price and still been over the moon.

my advice, test ride some bikes, if you’re near the NE you can happily ride mine for a bit. For what its worth that new on one which is the alu version of mine looks pretty awesome, same as the new Stanton sherpa looks pretty special they’re all of a similar ilk

Mtb, work in doxford park and I’m looking for some mid week rides. Mates ride hamsterley and Guisborough but can be a stretch time wise. Is there anything local? Nothing tech obviously.

I’m thinking another Shimano, the economics don’t add up for expensive bbs for me

Have to say for me it’d be the ktm, but then that’s just down to looks i think its a good looking bike.

Seems the sidewalls haven’t improved then, my 2.4 RQ protections did exactly the same

It could be a massive bargain that bike. I have the Ti fireline version, if i hadn’t i would have one tomorrow. Geometry for me is close to perfect

The demise of the local bike shop (to me) is not based on price, I’ll happily pay more to have something now than wait days for something. Its more that consistently i receive poor quality customer service in shops, when that’s the thing they should be selling, themselves.

Mine were with customs for around two weeks for some reason, i know some people have had them much sooner though.

32T with an 11-36 cassette, have to say I found it proper hard work to begin with but its getting easier. Big days in the lakes and the peaks are just painful though. I’ve ordered one of those absolute black cassette pieces now though so hopefully help the big days out.

I’d like 240’s as well but couldn’t find any second hand?

Absolutely awesome ride out yesterday, conditions were perfect but i was extremely impressed with some of the riding down there, its really come on since i was last in Surrey. Helped we had a guide mind, a lad called roo who does some work for MBR, showed us some unreal stuff! Already planning another trip down at the end of May!

So we’re probably talking £1500. That’s mental and I’m sorry, impossible to justify

I’ve spent today getting the car ready, four of us in an Astra estate on a wet day in the lakes means the roof box will come out for wet kit and camelbaks :)

I’m very much still getting to know my Titus Fireline. But gone from chalk to cheese. My last bike was a Santa Cruz Blur LTc. What i can say so far is that i find it descends as well if not better than my SC, it struggles a bit when it gets proper rough though. Climbing the extra traction you get is staggering however, I’ve got ardents on right now and I’m riding round in mud with little to no problem. Now I’m not saying one is better than the other, not at all, but i can say that I’ve been impressed with the way my new bike rides.

the confidence inspiring thing is interesting, i don’t think the wheelsize specifically feels confidence inspiring. But i think this in combination with the titus’s geometry has led to (for me) me feeling as confident on my hardtail as i did on my 150/140mm full sus.

Had mine for around a month now, agree with a comment above about lever feel, very different to a shimano. Power wise they’re understandably more powerful than my XT’s but not quite as much as my old saints. Very pleased so far

I’ve got an American Classic all mountain set at the minute which are 2kg for the set so it’ll still be a decent drop in weight. The bike I’ve got I’ve not obsessed over weight, its just this was one area i wanted to drop some weight. Tyres is another one if i can.

I’m thinking DT revolution, possibly alu nipples.

I’ve just gone for some carbon light bicycle ones, 35mm wide and 415grms. Not cheap though but then again a fraction of the price of enve’s. Hoping to get my hope wheelset sub 1600g…..

I’ve recently made the switch from a 26″ Santa Cruz full sus to a Titus Fireline. I was a bit apprehensive that the handling would be lazy and centre of gravity high etc, the usual stuff. But mine certainly isn’t like that. So far there have been zero downsides, only thing to mention really is gearing. I’ve got the same gearing (32t chainring 12-36 cassette) but id like a lower gear for climbing, i think I’ll be looking at a hope trex. Aside from that I’m impressed with my 29er, see how we get on in the coming months.
