Its still a p**s take. The race for light weight stiction free forks has led to companies cutting corners for the sake of weight. To produce a product for the mountain bike market that in theory you couldn’t do a solo 24hr on is absurd, because techically you’d void your warranty.

Things have to change and reliability has to improve. Its not just my lyrics, there’s countless people on here that have had problems with fox too, including one of the guys I ride with.

To add insult to serious injury we pay up to £900 pounds for these poorly designed products!

do your tora’s have steel legs? i think they do and i don’t think they have any anodising, maybe thats a better design? definately not any worse than my £900 lyrics!!!!!

its a cop out from all these manufacturers, because when they put service intervals on like this it completely negates warranty issues?! all they say is ‘they haven’t been serviced enough’ when the fact is that service intervals like this are a p**s take.

thats good isn’t it, i’ll have a talk to the lads and see what they say, at the end of the day we can play it by ear and see what we think on the weekend we leave, that would certainly make the last day a bit less stressful and would give us a bit more time on the final day in morzine.

some interesting points as three of us are going to les gets from preston in july. what have people done on the way back? because on the way there your full of beans and raring to go aren’t you, on the way back things aren’t the same? is it just a case of swapping drivers as much as you can etc?

good point well made PeterPoddy, i have 07 lyrics and love them. developed slight, and i mean slight wear on the stantions and my local shop (Ride-On) dedcided to send them back, and they immediately warrantied them when they were 10 months old, and all within two weeks.

maybe shouldn’t of happened but at least they dealt with it promptly and efficiently

get yourself on the three drops in the middle sort of thing, yes it has a bit of a b***h of a climb back out but they’re good fun! the bit towards the bottom we call ‘bury bob’ with the jumps is my favourite bit though followed by the bit in the trees to the start!

i’ll have to give you a shout when my bikes back and sorted so we can get a ride organised!

xherbivorex if i could i would! the atmosphere is good isn’t it, good that we’ve got real support from people such as yourself who give up there time to marshal, we really appreciate it!

but i reckon you deserve to get yourself in there and have a go! is your cove up and running yet?

Its a popular bike thats sold world wide in numbers, every bike has its faults, every bike, I’m simply saying that they’re not a poor bike and you can’t dismiss every one for either a few problamatic production models or poor riders, the shock technology is the same throughout the scott range and is tried and tested on other models.

And i’m only speaking from riding one personally for nearly a year, bubble still in tact though don’t worry 😉

twohats what a load of s**t, i’ve had mine nearly a year now and i’ve had no problems at all, only ones that i’ve created by having offs (mech hanger ripped off). The shock has been floorless, just sent it away to get serviced before we do the mountain mayhem and then france in july. Awesome having the three adjustments.

I’ve ridden twice a week on it for 10 months without issue.

But someone made a point about fox float 100’s up front, thats not enough travel, the frame is designed to run with at least 140mm and really should be 150mm, i’ve got lyrics on the front of mine. As for the weight issue you won’t ever get it really light. I’ve got the LTD model with xtr/saint and its 30.5 lbs, but i don’t suffer because of it? And its awesome DH.

But if DH isn’t so much your thing then i’d go for the genius? Bit more of an all rounder? Hope this helps?

woo hoo! They’ve fianlly seen sense, they ruined the route. I know why they did it in that to protect the habbitat but there must have been other ways? obviously they have found them! Excellent.

we need the marshals for the duration of the event i’m afraid, the marshals do get moved around periodically between posts but i’m afraid your stood in the same place until an organiser comes to get you to take you to the next point.

Difficult that one Pook as at the last race there were quite a few punctures with a variety of tyres, including tubeless. I run 2.4 Mountain kings up there, maybe a little harder than usual but not much and i’ve been alright?

Plus its an all weather track with little mud so shallow tread tyres tend to work best, and they grip a little better on the rock too.
