they are fine as long as the product doesn't go wrong, or you have to go into the shop which is hardly ever open 🙄

The fork does extend properly its just they bottom out at around 140mm. Thanks for that link though! I'll ring TF tomorrow and see what i need to re-build them.

i've just tried it with it wound in and out and it makes no difference. Looks like i'm going to have to ring fishers tomorrow and see what they say.

With the fork freshly re-built it still has restricted movement. Not really had much luck with these forks like, 2-step packed up in june, not too bothered about that but if there's a more serious damper problem i'm not going to be happy, always had rockshox but these have been problematic to say the least

anybody else had these issues with lyrics?

but they are nearly 18 months old? but yes its a solid stop.

well i've stripped them down and there was significantly more oil in the damper side leg, but, after i've cleaned them out, put fresh oil in and re-built them the travel is stil restricted to around 140mm.

do we still think its the damper seals leaking? anybody got an other ideas?

yeah well like you say it will be obvious if there's a lot more oil coming out won't it. Just looked on the TF website and its about £15 for the dampner seal kit seal kit, not too bad, i already have the service manual.

see what tonight brings i guess. if nothing else i'll do a lower leg removal tonight and give them a clear out. ride them tomorrow then do the proper repair work next week

Ah right, well i reckon i'll try TF first and see what the cost is. I presume the fitting has to be exact for the O-rings? not a 'well its about….' type of thing 😉

where di you get the o rings from PeterPoddy?

The length of the fork is still the same if you know what i mean? i hasn't sunk down. i'll take them apart tonight and see what happens. I service them once every month or so and i don't remember lost coming out last time but what you say would make sence with it effectively locking out with too much oil in.

buzz-lightyear how do you find ghetto tubeless? are the sidewalls on std nev's and BG's strong enough?

having majot 'issues' with my kendas at the moment, pinch flats all the time not impressed to be honest, grip is good but thats no good if you have to stop 3-4 times every ride to repair punctures. 🙄

right there with you no_eyed_dear but i've done that and my maverick seatpost and crank bros pedals have long since bit the dust, well the seatpost is still going but needs parts that have to be ordered from the states for ridiculous prices.

i enjoy cleaning and maintaining my bike, but these are a mixture of poor products and poor company's

    Crank bros pedals

these are just some of the products i've ownde that have been poor products and i've had poor service from. If i think about ot they'll be loads more.

I have a similar bike and have had thoughts about selling it, but like you say its not 'fasionable'. i'd split it, thats what i'll do with mine (ransom LTD)

i love my kenda nevegal/blue grooves, but they are a bit slower than your used to but offer a lot more grip, depends on ypur riding and what they're going on really?

i may well make you an offer though, as you say, you can only say no

    neil853

i've recently spent £100 on a cassette (XTR), £30 on a chain and £90 on a rear mech, some because of crashes and some through regular maintenance (awaiting fitting). XTR has always been expensive but in anyones eyes £94 for a middle chainring is a p**s take i don't mind spending the money, but sometimes its just too far.

so, a raceface or middleburn one for £30-50 is much more realistic

    neil853

people have been selling them on the classifieds but asking £75-80 for a middle, thats still a p**s take for a middle ring, new or second hand

    neil853

tails, i would make you an offer for the chainrings but i'm pretty sure you wouldn't except it 😉

hange on a second, a few people on here have just been saying different things, as i've said before i wanted to be clear. now i am, and the help is appreciated

    neil853

cheers ianpinder, i think its the middle only i'll need to replace, so if thats the case does that mean i can fit any middle ring and keep the std xtr inner?

    neil853

no i know, i was hoping someone maybe on here thats done it, mine are ok at the minute but i reckon i'm going to need to change them in the next few months leading up to christmas, be good to know what i need. might just give CRC a ring and see what they say?

    neil853
    Free Member

    so any std 4 bolt will do? i'm looking for examples of what people have done ideally. i've found some chainrings on CRC from middleburn that may do;
