see how the condidtions go then. i'm new to the CX bike so may stick to what i know if conditions are manageable for the mtb, if its a mudfest i'll use my CX bike 😆

yeah it was thameside next to the youngs pub, think it was called the hogshead. that was the shop that i used to run for two or three years, awesome shop that is sadly no longer there because of higher management issues. Nivana cycles of westcot were always good, got some nice high end stuff and so rides too, not the slowest but good

i used to live and run a shop in kingston, sadly no longer there now. richmond cycles are a good bunch of lads, a mate () of mine owns it now. Cyclopedia is also an excellent shop. Walton cycles in walton on thames also stocks good stuff.

i did it last year and the course was rubbish and not to mention really tough. Thinking about it though as i've heard that they are going to include more singletrack. Think about it over christmas 😉

i've just started doing 12.5 miles each way. reckon it'll take me a few weeks to do it every day, doing it 3 times a week at the moment

egg beaters? i'm sorry but i've had two sets that have failed in just over a year with one service in that time, they are rubbish and simply do not compare to shimano reliability. Strong words but true

try this link. I had the same issue with mine but sent them off. Its not an easy job to do but with some patients and common sense its more than possible. Whats worth considering is that when i sent them back they didn't have any 2-step spares in stock so they replaced the internals with the coil conversion. Its good but i've had to increase the low speed damping as they had a tendancy to dive a bit compared to my air set up. Performance is better marginally but they do dive around quite a bit compared to the air assembly, jury is still out as to whether i keep the current set up or ask for the 2-step assembly to fitted when in stock.

If its parts your after ring tim flooks. he had parts in stock but if i remember correctly it was around the £120 mark to fix, thats what drove me to see what the arranty situation was.

    Hope this helps

not yet sos, need to get this bike thing sorted, not to mention the weekends house move! 😯

i'm just under 6ft. the carbon one is very nice but i'm not totally sure whether i could get mudguards on, and i will NEED mudguards. the CX bike looks the most fun as i'd like to have the option of nipping down the leeds-liverpool canal. But the hybrid i went to see last night was very nice, 20lbs and looked a bit more out stretched than your normal sit-up-and-beg type hybrid, but i think my commute is a little too far for a hybrid?

i'm only doing it three days a week at the minute 😀

Pretty well considering the amount of people riding it, there is one section which leads up to the slab section (climb up to it) that is now pretty boggy but the rest is still good. I think some trail repairs have been earmarked as part of the original budget. 😆

in a 31.6?????? nice. yeah i'll have that off you, tell me a price and i'll pick it up. i'm moving to coppull this weekend thats not far from you is it? few miles? should be able to make your night rides now

its not just the guide blocks though, the outer sleeve on mine has worn out now and i'm struggling to find one in a 31.6mm. 👿

second the north west, its certainly the best placed area for all sorts of riding

I've riden pretty much every trail centre in the UK now and the only thing missing at Gisburn like stumpyjon says is sustained decents, but thats not a criticsm at all its just the way it is. I think Gisburn is fantastic and they've cleverly used what elevation they have to create some really nice sections of singletrack that have turned out to be really technical. to get it right and clean the whole loop you have to be a confident/fit rider. No its not an all day epic but for what it is, its well worth a trip. I'm luck enough to live 30 minutes away from it and night ride there every week.

I think some comments are especially harsh as a lot of it has been made by hand with design on peoples direct input. I have the upmost respect for what they have done and should only be commended on it! 😆

the tarw one i found the most enjoyable which is the old karrimor trail i think? anyway a good trail. The beast is also very good but does have a big fire road climb in it but the decent the other side is amazing. The existing MBR route is also good, those are the three i would do. 😆

We did it from the Manchester area with three of us in the car and i think it was around £100 each for everything (fuel, tolls, ferry etc)and that was with the bikes on the roof. I wouldn't go from up here again. May drive to a mates in peterborough and stay over but to be honest next time i think i'll fly.

doesn't take half an hour to remove a headset , maybe splitting hairs here but £15 is a decent price for me
