Very very pleased with my 29er 35mm rims, took so much weight off but the stiffness gain was the main gain

    Me? Nope :)

Absolutely love my fireline. Definitely not saying 29ers are the answer for everything, but for a trail hardtail for me 29ers are spot on. I think the firelines super short chainstays treally help, along with the low bb and slack headangle.

Its funny, but it was grip that impressed me most when I rode my 29er for the first time too.

I’ve been to morzine, was great to experience the alps for the first few times there but we’ve been to les arcs for the last two years staying in bourg saint Maurice. Nice/bigger place to stay and imo the riding is way way better

Kind of interested in this too, riding is meant to be pretty epic and its somewhere I’d never considered.

Ive got the 35mm ones on my 29er, very pleased with mine so far but then again I ran crests on my trail bike for 18 months with zero issues. Deliberating whether to get the 30mm ones for my new 650b enduro bike……

Hmmm the extension bit sounds good. I’m only in Sunderland so its not a huge trek.

Is this worth doing then is it? One of those places I’ve always past and never stopped at

Its threads like this that keep me in touch with the forum. Great to see so many offers of help. I have a 10 speed XT mech sat in the garage. Few scrapes but workable all the same

That looks lovely mate, really nice. Stick with it as when you ride it for the first time it’ll all be worth it. To be honest one of my favourite things is booking a day off work, getting all the bits together, getting a case of beers in and spending thevday building your pride and joy :)

Its my set up and has been for a while. I have a purg grid on the back just for peace of mind. They’re a decent weight, seal tubeless perfectly and don’t cost the earth. I have a captain too which I stick on the back for summer duties, just adds a bit of speed.

I think that’s been a great way to spend some time keeping your mind away from the obvious, can only echo what some others have said, chin up, things WILL work out in the end

I’m 6ft, 32/33 inside leg on a medium Fireline with a 50mm stem. Absolutely perfect fit for me.

Dave thanks for the exclamation mark, rode the 40t for 10 miles or so and wear is apparent on the chainring that wasn’t there before, either way the shifting quality loss is not worth this extra hassle. I’ll just have to get fitter

Its a zee fr mech that’s on

Right, I’d read after I’d bought the part that shifting is affected. Not sure its worth the hassle and further expense

Its looking like a 2.0hdi then really isn’t it. Prefer the look or the Peugeot’s probably too. I need to have a look at some but i really think this is a goer

I have an astra estate at the minute but these camper conversions have got me thinking. Amdro make one that looks excellent and the thread on here also looked the business. From what I’ve read they seem cheap to repair and run etc i was just wondering if anyone had one and what they think of it? What fo they do mpg wise? I normally head to the alps each year so what are peoples experience when fully loaded? I know they’re far from ‘cool’ but they genuinely look like an amazingly practical vehicle.

Bought a few bikes on 0%, see no prblem with it whatsoever. However recently with the ridiculous cost of mtb stuff, ive shown a little more restraint and got something that I no longer pay for each month which is nice. Although thats only till I get another full sus next year :)

Service it is then. Possible to do yourself looking at the youtube vid, depends if you can be bothered. Not cheap though

If its in warranty send it back, no point paying for a service

How old is it? Under two years? If so its under warranty, I’m on my fourth right now all of the previous had this fault and were replaced under warranty. Seal issue between oil and air chamber

Funny as I’ve found both the purgatory and butcher excellent, currently running a butcher on the front and a fastrak on the rear. Must admit though, until very recently I’ve been running ardent 2.4’s front and rear until recently and they also performed very well. I just think for the money specialized tyres offer excellent value.

I was thinking of one of these before i got my Fireline, the geo looks spot on in fact the frame just looks the right shape if you know what i mean? Delivery was too far away at the time which kind of decided it for me. Looks lovely though that!
