We've done it a couple of times, last year i did all the driving myself from Preston, that was a long way! This year there's two other drivers coming so that will make it MUCH nicer for me 😆

I like driving down, its part of the adventure of the holiday. depends who you go with like but we have good crack on the way down. I wouldn't go any other way. Its not cheaper, although its not more expensive, its just a better way IMO of getting there. Don't rush and enjoy it.

its the passenger side of the dash, from what sounds like behind it. Only when the clutc is down and only at very low speeds. The garage said it was the dual mass flywheel, spoke to skoda UK and they agreed to pay half the repair bill (the car is four years old). I'll be proper pissed if this is another sizeable bill

yeah its just when you stop it ticks for 2 or 3 seconds? or when the clutch is depressed at slow speeds.

Try Paul Hewitt cycles (also Preston, well Leyland). I've had a few dealings with them and they've been excellent. They have bike-fit facilities and will talk through everything you need. Can't recomend them highly enough. AVOID RIBBLE!

I've had a carbon Ransom for nearly two years and its been almost trouble free. Shock seal failed once and the guys at scott service uk turned it around free in a couple of days! its not as plush as a nomad or other longer travel bikes but its more capable as an all rounder. I've done uplift days and 24hr events on it and its coped really well with both!

As for the travel adjust switch i use that almost as much as changing gear! I'll miss it if and when i come to sell it. Overall it been a good bike, i'd recomend one.

I've got a Boardman CX pro and commute 25 miles a day on it. Its more than quick enough for me and coming from MTB'ing i don;t think i could push the bigger gears of a road bike every day like i do now. Mine does everything i need it too and more, its the reason i got it and i'm more than looking forward to the c2c on it this year!

Cheers Chris, its what its all about, its not for the elite racers but the guys who ride week in week out that just want to have a blast round a decent/challenging course. The courses this year should be interesting! 😆

Aye thats the one, was a good (if tough) ride that. I'd been out the day before too so the legs were a little sore.

Off up lee quarry on thursday night i think, haven't had chance to check out the new trails yet. Heard mixed responses off here. 🙄 bit of a play about is needed i reckon.

It is massivle dry! nice and quick and the entire route is rideable. Went up last night in the evening sunshine, was well nice! can't help but feel how lucky i am to have that only 30mins from my house (driving time)!

Awesome trail, i go from south lancs and i would say its well worth the trip. Has an old school, natural feel to it, i really like it! Well done all involved!

It looks better in the flesh than the pictures suggest, plus its surprisingly light, certainly seemed that way last night when i was hanging on his coat-tails around Gisburn 🙄

Don't take this as a personal attack on any of the people who have put effort into trail building, I think what has been archieved up there is amazing. But a combination of the weather and the sheer amount of people who ride up there has seen a rapid rate of errosion that simply couldn't have been forcast.

I still stand by what i said however in that the sandy singletrack and especially the run up to the cragg are extremely eroded. I think on a dry day the run up to the cragg will be rideable, and certainly the sandy singletrack is but its just so rough that it is a little less enjoyable to ride. I suppose i was lucky in the fact that i rode it when it was new 🙄

keep up the good work guys!

I love that venue but a lot of it is knackered now. All the bit around the slab and even the singletrack (sandy) leading up to it is worn out. It's in need of some serious re-grading 😥

Mudfest, wet and slippy would be ok. It has some nice singletrack though, really nice. some of the new stuff near the DH car park is excellent. I think the black would be perfect for a nightride though, just hard work in the wet

try the black, short but good. Oh but avoid if its wet because its awful 😯

I had the same choice last weekend and as much as i enjoyed the ride it wiped me out for the week, still, i'd do it again 😉

I'm debating whether to buy two or go for a 2.2 on the back.
