I had a similar problem with mine. And the answer is depends how busy they are. I must say though they turned mine around in a week with a coil replacement (second failure for me). 🙄

I'm with njee20 as well. The key to keeping a chain and cassette going is keeping it clean. Maybe i take things a little far keeping mine clean but i ride mine twice a week all year round and i've had two years out of my XTR set up. When its worn out i'll replace the lot.

just for the record i got an XTR cassette brand new of ebay for £80!

Rear mech looks well nice. wonder if the brakes are any more powerful than the old 970's, thought they were weak but always liked the look of them.

easy enought o servive if a ittle fiddly when replacing the oil. Spare parts however are like hens teeth as crank bros bits no longer fit. Mine is just a very expensive paper weight now 🙄

I have a 240/SAINT on 819 and i've been really impressed by how strong and stiff the wheels are. Some of this may be down to the wheel builder (who is excellent apparently).

I run 2.4 tyres tubeless on mine and they have been fine, i'm not a small chap either. I would definately go for the 819's again, only downside is they are a little porky compared to the DT 5.1's i took off seemingly.

anyone done the black sections near the last road crossing? did them for the first time last weekend 😯

they were interesting, got though them at speed, definately the way forward as any slower i don't think i would have got through

don't know if this helps but i ordered one a couple of months ago from them and it was black, seem the most popular colour

the timings are shall we say 'fluid' 😆

but yes there will be time for you to do a practice lap.

As for the bag thing if you speak to one of the marshals or organisers they will stash your stuff somewhere (car/backpack)

should be a good race, we have an interesting course lined up which may or may not use some of the new stuff 8)

juan i am not a pro rider and do make mistakes 😉

The brakes i have allow me to get away more easily with the mistakes i make. Its fine saying braking better and less but by the time you get to a given situation its too late. I can only give a before and after comparison of the brakes i've had and the response is based on that.

You don't NEED big brakes, but for me they work well.

I don't have a problem with pad wear or modulation, and when in the Alps they definately coped MUCH better with the heat build up. In the UK I don't really notice much difference until I get into trouble then I know I can stop much quicker than I would if I had smaller rotors. I possibly went a bit overkill with the brake choice (09 saint 4-pots) so seemed rude not to get the big rotors 8)
