may not help but i have 819's and i'm a similar weight and i think they are very good. just been to the alps for a week on them and still dead true. Depends heavily on the wheelbuilder mind but i definately recomend them

I totally agree that they are massively useful but the side to side play isn't acceptable, especially after i've just replaced one with similar amounts at a significant amount. I'll ring 2pure now and see what happens.

[/quote]We're doing it in one day on roady bikes – ish!

    Fair play!

We did it in two a couple of times stopping in Alston. That was about my limit (first day from Workington to Alston was awful).

Looking to do it again this year 😆

My mate has a focus estate and i have an octavia estate (06) an mine is almost certainly bigger. Four of us drove down to the alps in it no problem and it still got 40mpg with the bikes on the roof.

Its backwards having to pay for something and then decide if its fits. Understand totally the issue of expensive stuff on sale but it just doesn't work by saying pay for it first.

I use UST MK's on mine with sealent and have had no problems, only issue is that the UST MK's are not the black chilli compound so don't seem to last as long 🙄

I thik my next tyres will be either RQ's or Maxxis HR and Larrsen

I can only say that with UST tyres they inflate beautifully, with non UST tyres i require a compressor, i now tend to stick to UST tyres

How come no one else ses this as wrong? The forum is not there as a means to make money or a living? is it?

I agree its a p**s take, its not what the forum is for, its not a means to make money but a quick, safe (hopefully) and easy way to aquire bits for a reasonable sum of money. Its just not cricket.

Had a carbon Ransom for two years. Two trips to the alps, two Mountain Mayhem events on it and a number of xc/enduro's, i have complete faith in it.

its a judgement call, if its a weekend where its busy its a stupid idea, if its mid week and quiet its possible. Trail centres are designed to seperate user groups and avoid conflict, this is doing the opposite of that 🙄

I've ordered an item twice this week from two different stores that showed stock online only to be phoned to say that it wasn't in stock. I agree, annoying 👿

no they don't promise next day delivery but in order for mail order to be attractive they have to be competitive on delivery times. I like dealing with crc on the whole, their website is easy to work with and communications are good. It would just be better if they could get the stuff here a little quicker 😉

the tubeless MK's i have seem fine sidewall wise and i ride in he lakes and pennines quite a bit.

I have some wildgripper'rs that i bought at the dalby wc to put on so i'm encouraged by what frovenearth has said 🙂

I'm not a small man and i've ran 2.4 MK's for a while at low pressures, they are around that weight i think?

strap seems ok its the ratchet that won't grip, only one of them which is annoying, it tightens up most of the way its just the 'nipping up' part

anyone had issues with the shimano ratchet's?

enjoy, because the new saints are amazing, serious power on tap and i don't believe you can ever be 'over braked'. its always nice to have that in reserve.

On the flip side though a few friends have the new XT's and they seem very good too. Have to say Shimano seem to be leading the way for me at the minute.

I'm pretty sure its just the suspension bikes. I have a ransom and i have to have the bearings looked at/changed and have the shock serviced every 12 months or the warranty in invalid

Its a funny thing because i hate riding my road bike for any other reason than to work. I mean i really enjoy my 12 mile commute but when i went out for a 'training' ride just after i got it (last xmas) i just didn't enjoy it at all.

I always choose my mtb, but then again i live quite close to areas where i can get some good riding in. I prefer the social aspect of mtb'ing. roadies are just unsocialable 😉
