Its always a reality check having a big crash, but at the end of the day we do it because we get an adrenalin rush otherwise we/i wouldn't do it. Glad to hear you're OK though, good job you were wearing that helmet otherwise bottom line, you wouldn't be here now.

As for the NHS i totally agree, my mate has a smash at whinnlatter, headfirst into the floor. Turned up at Carlisle hospital who rushed him through and we were out (with him stitched up) in three hours! Top service.

hasn't something similar been done by shimano 20 years ago? it was called a freewheel sprocket . Plus will it shift as well as shimano? doubt it.

two intresting facts there for me (yes i'm a bit geeky). First the SPD ratio, higher thani would have thought for some reason, a secondly the neck brace thing. I would have thought this is another means of generating sponsorship money if nothing else? oh yes and then there's the 'not breaking your neck thing', wonder if dan atherton had one on?

Interested in this, so basically portion size doesn't matter? and just cook with the items that are listed in the plan?

And this diet can be done alongside excercise? i say that as i cycle to work 25 miles a day 4 days a week.

The main reason for me wanting to try this diet is that i'm not loosing any weight while doing this. I would like to try and get a bit leaner than my 15 1/2 stone i am at the moment 🙄

I have the roof solution and i like it. Only notice decrease in fuel econ on long runs and its dead easy getting them on and off. Horses for courses though.

Wish i'd got the aero bars though, i got he std ones because i'm tight 🙄

As far a driving into stuff then that just stupidity and lack of concentration. Just as a quick add on i've also seen people reverse into stuff with bikes on the back 😯

150mm is used on downhill/freeride frames usually to avaoid the 'dishing' of the rear wheel and therefore building in to a stronger wheel. There is a new 142 mm std coming in now but that has only just been launched.

I went one size up ( from a 44 to a 45) and they are perfect. I wear normal cycling socks inside them too not warm thick things. don't need to.

I think this has to end here really. All people (including me) were saying was that we appreciated what volunteers and the FC had done with what they had to work with, in fact more than that they had created something that was worth talking about 😉

the more trails we have to ride the better, surely you agree with that 8)

all the locals do ride over that way then they are no riders in my opinion just a bunch of wannabe mtb extreme riders

are you for real? you get this upset over riding a trail? best calm down lad you'll do yourself a mischief 🙄

I'm not going to bother reading the majority of posts on here because i don't quite understand them. Trail centres will never have the appeal of an awesome lakes or peaks trail. But what they are very useful for is for riding in crap condidtions or riding with people who are still finding there feet in mtb'ing. You can head out and baring mechanicals, know exactly what time you are going to back and in most cases do as much or as little as you like with facilities to get changed and buy and overpriced coffee 😉

And lets not forget the amount of work that has gone in by volunteers, I for one commend them on what they've done and for what its worth i think its an excellent trail that is easy worth the 1-1 1/2 drive that i have to get the there.

Interesting this as my dad was the one to set up the plastics factory to produce these in the 90's in the North East. The tyres were rubbish and i mean rubbish. They were not fit for any purpose. They were far too hard (even though they played around with the air content in the platic) for any use and had major issues with 'rolling off' the rim. borderline unsafe. 😯

Trust me, get some decent puncture resistant tyres and some tubes, I have on my commuter.

composite! ha ha i think it maybe those expensive bearings i put in 🙄

We'll see i'm generalising until i take the back end to bits, maybe that the bolts aren't at the correct torque.

yep, gives me time to sort out that creaky pivot 🙄

may need to change one of the bearings
