How often do you ride Doug? I ride twice a week (on my mtb).

This is another issue (sidewalls wearing). You say you only get 6-9 weeks out of a set 8O

That’s the enternal dilema though isn’t it. The winter is here now and when this snow melts its going to muddy, i’ve got swampthings for when it REALLY muddy but want something we can leave on most of the time. I know the Minion doesn’t roll as well but may get more grip?

Interesting to here your comments about the sidewall as these will be ran tubeless……

I’ve just took 4-5 months to get (hand over the money) a Blur LT carbon, its cost me a fortune but i don’t regret buying it for a second

I have a pair of RC31’s that i just need some stickers for, now i know this isn’t exactly criticle but they don’t even have the decency to return my emaails (three emails over four weeks).

I would look at other bike/parts manufacturers

Has anyone had both aero and standard bars? I have the standard and was wondering whether the aero were worth replacing them?

I love the Bfe in that colour, i’m building up a 456 for the same reason, taking longer than expected though as i bought a new Blur Ltc recently, understandably skint now

One problem with roof racks apart from fuel consumption is that dirt falls onto your car

This is an annoyance, not a problem.

I’ve had roof mounted carriers for around three years. Done a lot of UK driving and trips to and from Les Gets/Morzine. The fuel economy thing is an issue but if there’s you and a few mates going out generally we split the fuel costs anyway. My Oct Est does around 47-49 mpg, with 3 bikes on the roof with people and kit it does 39-40 mpg so not the end of the world.

Getting back from a ride and putting the bikes straight on the roof and out of ther way is a good feature too, yes the car sometimes gets a bit dirty but even I (and anyone who knows me will maybe be shocked by this) don’t mind this.

Security is an issue, but to be honest I don’t feel safe leaving my bike anywhere, so I don’t. Someone stays with the car if we go anywhere or its ‘in sight’.

There is always the ‘hit low things issue’. But i’ve seen enough people reverse into things/cars/people with toe bar mounted racks to realise that it just takes some considered driving to avoid this.

They all have there plus and minus points, but i’m pleased with what i got.

    Hope this helps

Totally agree about the bike shop, wouldn’t use again. But the Hub did have a good atmosphere in my opinion, it was a bit of a nightmare in winter as their was no room to sit. Fancy sitting outside eating your nacho’s? don’t think so.

As someone else has said though, we don’t know who’s won it yet, and as long as the tender process has been transparent, tracey and emma can see where they’ve lost out on and we can see why they’ve won the contract. That’s fair ebough to me.

Endura strikes aren’t a bad glove, but they are NOT waterproof. Not bad at keeping your hand warm in chilly conditions but not when its cold. Not a bad glove but not brilliant. Hoping my gore ones are better

Anyone know who he works for? Where? Worth a phone call to shame him into some action? His actions CAN NOT be explained away, he owes the OP a product or a refund.

The cheap ones are the folding NON BLACK CHILLI versions. I like the look of the new MKii’s though…..

There not ‘holes’ exactly, more you can see a sort of lining past the carbon? Nothing to worry about then?

some people just don’t get on or feel natural riding them, I’ve been riding spd’s since 1993 and would not ride without them, I’ve tried riding flats but i just feel as much part of the bike. I have a mate however who seems to be struggling with riding (mostly confidence) who currently rides clipped in and i think I’m going to suggest he tries flats. If he stays on them great because It’s about what’s best for him. For xc spd’s are MUCH faster, but if you keep falling off or are not enjoying it, what use is that?!

from the car park It’s about 12 miles. In good weather and when you know the trail you can get it well under 1hr 30. Taking your time and enjoying it with some mates around 2hrs. It’s a cracking route and with the work that’s been carried out recently (regrading) It’s set for the winter!

I’m not going to read all the posts just put my opinion in. Dogs at trail centres can be fine if its a quiet day. Because the risk is reduced. But on a weekend its massively irresponsible. The whole reason for these trail centres is to segregate user groups to avoid conflict. Bringing a dog along creates user conflict and in some cases can be dangerous.

I too went to Glentress a couple of weeks ago and every day i rode there (i was there 6 days) there were dogs on the trail. All of them created issues to a greater or lesser degree. What happens if someone ploughs into these dogs? who is going to be responsible? Mountain Bikers already have a fragile relationship with countryside access, creating conflicts like this does us no favours.

they do a basic wire bead version and an apex (tubeless ready) black chilli. I suspect the £15 ones are the basic wire bead version.

It is a nice frame, i just fancied something lighter with a bit less travel (basically i just wanted a new bike :) )

Its a medium (18″) which is meant for 5ft 8 to 6ft. haven’t advertised it yet but was thinking of £500 inc the headset and the XTR front mech thats on it. Although the mech will need the cable pinch bolt helicoiling i think as the thread is dodgy.

I have recently got a new bike so i have the frame and headset (hope) left over. Its 2 1/2 years old, had the shock serviced in the summer and the bearings changed two months ago. Its been well used but looked after. Its served me really well.
