I have ProII’s on 819’s, wondering if its worth selling the wheelset and getting a new lighter set or just changing the rims to crests. What do we reckon?

I’d like to do a longer ride up there. I’ve done quite a bit of riding up there buts its all been under 15 miles I’ve heard its possible to do a 25+ ride up there. Anybody fancy being a guide for a day between Christmas and new year? :)

yeah theyb look nice on it, i’ve got black 819’s on mine and would prefer something like that. Whats the weight of those easton’s? and whats the freehub pick up like compared to hope?

That’s lovely Matt, love the colour scheme nicely done. I have a green LTc, green is the way Matt :)

I’ve had pinch flat issues with other tyres but none with swampthings (set up tubeless) in 2.35. Worked fine all of last winter in the lakes, peaks and lanc hills.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this is a case of MTFU. Someone is cracking onto your wife

I have to say I agree with this……

Has to go one of two ways, the most rational is to talk to HR, I would of thought that was crossing the line.

The second way is to threaten telling his wife. I’m getting angry just thinking about it god knows what you’re like. I’d of gone straight round for a chat though, no messing, he’s bang out of order especially if you know him relatively well.

Also the issue of future-proofing i.e. a syntace rear end is a bit on an issue for all of the SC carbon range

of all the things to consider this wouldn’t be anywhere near the top of the list. You’ve got to ride them. I’m only going by what i’ve read on the TRc, if i rode it I may change my opinion. There aren’t many (if any) frames i’d have over mine.

I’m pretty gutted as I bought an LTc and then a couple of months later they released the TRc. Don’t get me wrong I love my LTc but if i’m hoest I would have prefered the lower weight and slightly slacker angles. Prefer the colours too

I’m not really a yeti fan, carbon stuff from yeti (esp the back ends) seem to have a high failure rate don’t they?

I’d love to do the more back country stuff but the lads I go away with are all about the Ski Lifts  don’t get me wrong I enjoy them too but there would be good to ride stuff that isn’t full of braking bumps, basically a motorway and a bit more out of the way….

I ride a ST front and a 60a rear, seems to work well although its the first time that the front tyre has worn quicker than the rear ha ha. I just run the cheaper single ply ones tubeless. Fantastic winter tyre IMO.

For me it’s Maxxis ADvantages, in either 2.25 or 2.4. I’m running a 2.4 front and 2.25 rear and they really have been amazing. Went to Hamsterly last weekend and in all honesty they are going to postpone me fitting the swampthings for a while longer!

I would LOVE to own that bike so much it hurts. Wonder how much I’d get for my car…….

    I’m running:

    XTR M972 Short Cage Mech
    XTR M970 Shifter
    XTR 11-32 Cassette
    XTR Chain
    MRP G2 Mini chain device

All 9speed this lot. Which was a struggle at first due to not having the spread of the 10spd cassette but I was surprised how quickly I got used to it.

Chain device wise i’m well pleased. Never even looked at being dropped and the security of the bash on the bottom is nice to have. There are new MRP’s and LG’s coming out that have lighter weight bash guards (although they are NOT cheap) that look very nice.

I’m the same, just can’t motivate myself to get out on my mtb during the week. I make up the time with running now as it keeps the fitness ticking over (well, in fact its increasing my fitness and dropping weight) until the lighter nights. I don’t know where this has came from, I used to love night riding but just can’t seem to get myself out.

This is compounded by pressure for time on weekends, it only takes one night on the beer and it can sometimes be 2/3 weeks between visits to the bike :(

A friend of mine is after the SB66c and they litterally have no idea when its going to be released  I reckon you’re looking at spring minimum and more likely early summer.

It’s one of my favourite trail centres to be honest. No its not scotland or wales but it does incredibly well with the terrain and topgography its got. Some really sweet singletrack.

In answer to your question i’d take the full sus, not for any other reasin other than it’ll be a little more fun and help you ride it twice! :)

Yes they re-valved it. LOCO does the same and seems a good chap :)

I had the same issue with my Blur LTc, just seemed to blow through the first part of the travel and sit there. Sent it back to Mojo who did a custom re-valve, they didn’t get it quite right first time but said if I wasn’t happy that they would alter the tuning for free! all I had to do was send it back. Really happy with it, although I’ve lost over 2 stone in weight so I should really send it back

Mavic 819’s have been unbelievably reliable for me for the lasy three years. Work with tubeless systems perfectly too. Have no experience of the stan’s rims but I would say the 819’s are an excellent mix of weight and strength.

I sent my rear shock in on a Monday and got it back Thursday! Top service by far the best i’ve had from suspension specialists. recomeded big time.

I’ve got a 2011 Rev WC XX’s with an ADvantage 2.4 on at the minute, no problem with fitting. It’s on an 819 if that helps.

6ft on a large Blur LTc, I’d say a medium is what you should go for, i’d test one its still a lot of money to get wrong.

If that’s the one which clamps on the Downtube (i get confused between the model no but I’ve had both) then they don’t, I had to get the axle mounted one which imo was a bit better anyway. Where the clamp goes interferes with where the shock is.

I get them once a week, breaks the day up and gives me something to nibble on. I get them delivered on the days I go nightriding for that little energy boost (probably all in my head like). :D

They’re made by Bontrager Lowey, JE James had some cheap.

Although I’ve been pleased with single ply swampthings (tubeless), got them last winter and they’ll be going back on for the Rivington mud…..

Captain or not, he ain’t no role model

While I agree maybe for older people you can’t tell me there aren’t young lads running around wanting to be JT?

I can’t be bothered to read all the posts so here’s my two penneth worth.

The whole thing stinks. If he said what he said, why haven’t the players around them said anything? Becasause they’ve been told to keep quiet, if it came out that he’s actually said this (and I think he did) then this creates a huge problem, how do the FA deal with the England captain? A role model to millions of future footballers. I know there’s a split in opinion over how footballers should behave but it’s one thing enjoying a drink and cheating on your wife it’s another being a blatent racist in public on the football field. Now maybe my views are a little biased, i’m really not the biggest JT fan

Since I didn’t fit my dry/summer tyres till the end of june i’ve decided that i’m not fitting the mud tyres till the end of November :)
