Weather update: We’ve just been told Patrick Adams and team have been hard at work weatherproofing the course, re-routing some the the traditionally muddiest parts, so should the worst happen (it won’t! it won’t!) then the course will still be fun to ride. Yes, we know some of you will be disappointed by that, but come 3am you may change your mind

I like the sound of this ;)

It looks diferent in the flesh, not quite as chunky. Its a lovely bike, if I was in the market for a hardtail this would be what I would get now

It was never going to be anything other than wet was it, its pissed down for months. But its the same for all of us and with some proper preparation i reckon it might be just as much fun, although try asking me that at 4 am for a dawn lap…… ;)

get some swampthing’s as someone has said, they make riding so much easier as it just gets slimey and so slippy.

As long as the lifts are running just make the most of it, if they’re not, pub!

Bfe no good? I’ve always been a big fan of them*, seem to cover a lot of bases.

*don’t own one and not a massive Cotic fan, just like that model.

I’m clinging on to the hope that its not soaking wet, if its dry(ish) next week then hopefully that will give it chance to dry out, it does dry out quite quickly.

At the end of the day its the same for everyone and we’ve just got to make the best of it :)

I see no difference between “little white lies”, “exageration” and doping.

I just think 2010 had a better balance, last year felt like more climbing with little to no reward. Everyones view will be different of course ;)

Last year I rode with swampthings as I just couldn’t be arsed to take them off, probably not the best idea as they were a bit hard work!

This year I’ve got Rocket Ron’s if its dry and Mud-X if its wet.

Course-wise I’d like to see the one they used two years ago, last years felt like it had too much climbing in.

Mastiles, had you ever worn a cycle helmet at 5yr old? Other than on TV I’d only seen them on pro riders in the milk race.

I’ve worn one from the age of ten, but thats not the point or the question. He was asking what helment to buy, not IF HE SHOULD BUY ONE.

Will Longdon is quite funny, as is Martin Hawes. Brad Wiggins tells it like it is, as does David Miller. Mark Cavandish is quite good.

Bus as someone has said, there’s a lot of product mentioning by a lot of them, vitosport etc. Basically spamming

Terrahawk has his moments as does Harry the spider ;)

Depening on pricing I’m looking at a Saint rear mech. I like the sturdy look of them. Ideal for Enduro as someone has already said.

Heard about that but thats just not cricket, whats the point of doing well if you cheat? They should have just been disqualified, I know strictly speaking they did nothing wrong (wasn’t taped) but they knew what they were doing

wow wow wow now hang on, I thought the event was excellent and I really enjoyed it. But some maps, either on the wall of the food van and/or sign on and toilets would have been useful. If on these maps good vantage points/areas where people will crash ;) could have been pointed out this could also have been useful. Some clearing of said areas (with the agreement of the landowner of course) would also have been beneficial and made its easier for people to watch and enjoy it. This is the sort of thing that happens at WC events like Fort Bill.

This is just a bit of feedback from what I and the people that were with me on the day experienced. Irrespective of this like I said, I enjoyed it and will be doing more.

Is it? Sounds like all the same problems as rounds 1 & 2 but without the transition times and weather excuses

There were some ‘issues’. I was unlucky enough to have a guy in front of me who qualified out of position, so I caught him on four of the five stages losing time on every one, However on the first stage I crashed all of my own accord :)

I also pulled out a cracking seeding time only to be told that all seeding times were now invaild.

Also, my sis, brother in law and little’un came along and there were no provisions for spectators at all. I think if they want the sport to develop they’ve got to make it as attarctive and accessible as possible which includes making it easy for people to view it at its best. Now that might be something that the organisers may have to consult with the land owners on but I reckon it’s a subject that wouldn’t be taboo.

But, from what I saw it must be a nightmare to organise and plan. Race day timings were (on the whole) accurate. The course from what I and others were saying got the balance right between tech and fitness too.

Listen it’s a great format, really great so any feedback we can give will only help it develop even more. I’m well up for doing more next year.

How good was last weekend! Few shit things happened in the race but hey, that’s racing. definitely be doing a few next year! Well done to the organisers for putting the effort into something that had undoubtedly been a nightmare to put into place and develop. its not perfect, but its getting there. well done guys.

Its difficult to tell, the oil seems to settle around the edge of the top of the leg, around the edge if you know what I mean. I don’t think its coming out of the X-Loc, more the cap on the top of the leg?

Bikes at home, can sort a pic out tonight?

Most quality standard tyres work fine and save you weight, and money. Some folks need UST but it’s like dualply IMO, something you only do if you have to

I’ve ran both and (especially) on the back I find UST (well actually Maxxis LUST) able to handle lower pressures more durably. Easier to inflate in my experiance too.
