The only thing I can think of that I’ve used a torque wrench for is the aluminium locknut on the spindle of my my gxp cranks, I’ve got a draper one with 1/2″ drive that I also use for the car. The cranks need quite a high setting (and I’ve heard stories of snapping the relatively fragile aluminium bolt by overtighening)compared to nearly everything else on the bike that I can happily do by hand.

    Hi Bol,
I’ll have a think about it – was ideally after 26/39,but out of interest what spider and sprockets did you replace yours with? Presumably one that accepts smaller ratios more suited to the 29er?
    thanks,

    Andrew.

    Thanks Chris,
I’m thinking (unless I get other responses) that I might try the renthal one: http://www.tweekscycles.com/Search.do?method=delegate&n=3514&p=262429&s=renthal+chainring and hope even with the lack of ramps/pins that the shifting isn’t too bad (I do most of my riding in the big ring and don’t shift between chainrings that often).
I was looking at buying a cheap x7 chainset from CRC but the cheap one on offer (£85 plus I havea 10% voucher) is with the 28/42 rings and not sure I want to risk problems with frame/chainstay clearance and gearing..

so I guess no one ever had a problem with a truvativ gxp bb bearing seal, must just be me then. My new one’s arrived so doesn’t matter anymore anyway..

Have you tried the lamp unit with other batteries? (if you have other DX ones)

I’ve had 2x dx lights already, one I still run and the other I sold so tried a different battery and all I get is a brief flicker of the led when connecting a battery (checked with a fully charged one) and then nothing, no colour on the switch and no response to pressing it.

I’ll look into the returns, but was of the assumption I’ll need to pay the return postage?

c, but on a towbar flange mounted rack, not on the towball itself. better mpg, can be quickly removed and slung in the boot once parked up and bikes dismounted. some types lean forwards to allow access to the boot without removing the bikes, I just pull the back seats forward if I need something. I’ve got the witter one and it can take 3x adult bikes with careful mounting.
