Also ask the vendor if they have had treatment done in the past as there might already be a guarantee in place.

Also if you need a a second quote try Rentokill.

I’m a Building Surveyor in Leeds and regularly use a company called Timberwise. I recently arranged for the roof void in a large four bed farm house (worth c £800k) treated for woodworm for a cost of £1,164 plus VAT including 20 year guarantee.

Let me know if you need more details.

    Cheers

Bialetti Moka pot is a great way to get in to coffee making. I use a 3 cup pot for a large espresso in a morning and Americanos in the evening. Tastes great and the pot cost £20 from Amazon.

Toyed with getting a ‘proper’ machine but couldn’t justify the cost. Moka suits me fine and love experimenting with different coffee grinds and brands etc

I use Lavezza Rossa if buying ‘supermarket’ ground coffee or Whittards espresso if buying fresh.

The guy who was organising the course divided up the transport costs based on a 2kr per km

From what I have read this seems to be the cause of the problem. I’ve never heard of colleagues reimbursing another colleague on per mile basis. If work weren’t paying for the travel costs why did the organiser use this approach? Why not just ask each car to sort it out themselves eg dividing the petrol cost every time they filled up? If the drivers were then not happy to use their own cars they could have requested a few quid for tyre wear or hire cars could have been used.

Lesson learnt to confirm the cost of a trip before you go.

I always insist on recorded or special delivery when buying or selling on ebay. And Second Class can be particularly bad

Do you need a TV license to listen to BBC radio?

    I could live without BBC TV as there is some cracking stuff on the commercial channels, for example;

    The Wire
    The Sopranos
    Game of Thrones
    Walking Dead
    True Blood
    Boardwalk Empire
    Seinfeld
    Curb Your Enthusiasm
    Dexter

BBC TV is just ok IMHO, the only thing I would miss is probably Ski Sunday and the odd doc. Really enjoyed Sicily Unpacked.

I understand there are no rules, was more interested to see how the name thing evolved. My mum wants to be called Granny but I assume it will be us as parents who influence it in the end. Hence my parents will probably be called Grandma/Grandpa because thats what I called my grandparents and the in-laws will be Nan/Grandad cos that’s what the Mrs called her Grandparents…

Don’t worry I would never rely on STW for ‘actual’ advice!

Bought a bottle of Sierra Nevada Torpedo from Waitrose today, its 7.2% but one the best tasting beers I’ve had. Hope this doesn’t mean I’m an alcoholic!

I’ve got a bottle of Tactical Nuclear Penguin sat in the cupboard. It cost £30 so opening that will be an occasion.

But to answer your question a bottle of Worthington White Shield should do the trick, a truly great beer.

These kits cost around £15 don’t they? Doubt he would risk his STW reputation for that.

Give him a few more days, he might not check his emails that often.

Whether on eBay or STW I always post things Recorded Delivery. Its an extra 77p (that the buyer will usually pay) and can save a whole load of grief.

I’ve had this at All Terrain before, its frustrating when you know its cheaper if you are willing to wait a few days but want to buy something to use straight away.

Perhaps they should change the web site name to All-Terrain Direct or the shop name to All Terrain Express?
