uncle was northern ireland back in the day , on guard duty one eve and his mate came by 10 mins before guard change to take next watch ,uncle went to bed woke up in morning to news his mate had been shot and killed whilst @ checkpoint , 10 mins into his shift .. literally did dodge a bullet there but succumbed to a foreigner driving wrong side of road many years later and sadly did not survive that one .. a m8 slept in on the 7/7 bombing and was meant yo be sleeping in the hotel in the 2004 tsunami but went partying elsewhere , was days later we realised he was still alive , crashed his motorbike couple years back and was unconcious with tongue down the hatch , trainee doc walking by saved his ass , myself many near misses on road bikes and couple hits but still here , one day the wrong place wrong time is goin to align just right .. 🙈💀
navajo77Free MemberI always lookin in mirrors , do some kind of biking or gym 6 days a week , eat too much chocs and red bull but can knock that on head if need be , i get a good. Level im happy with but always want more but @ 50 and results are much harder to come by and injuries hit me bad this year but i never lack motivation just try not to burn myself out like i did last year , doc told me to slow down but i be back beastin in new year hopefully so yes im always looking but never happy with what looks back , but we do get out what we put in .. i just need to be more ruthless and get mind in right mode
navajo77Free MemberHad achilles pain last 5 days then xmas day flu cold aches kicked in , few pills yday and 1/2 hr in sauna loads of fluids to no avail , same level this morning, been watchin bikepacking clips on the tube and just finished one in norway , some snow here but dying get out on a ride even a walk , but nice heads up on goonies in 20 mins so thats sorted for next couple hours , hard to avoid all the bad food lyin around though 🙈
navajo77Free MemberWhoa spot sounds like you took a fair blow to the bod there , did my collarbone end of april this year and some ribs .. surgeons decided not to operate on clavicle and rib was same , dont think it helped much one day leaning onto bit of wood against walk to alleviate pain , it came back tenfold few hours later and was spitting blood next day , i never learn , was off work 2 months in total and really should have been more tbh but self employed .. been back easy trail riding probably 2 month now and easy gym sessions , still clavicle pain depending what im doing , no pullups yet but bench press , curls and rows light weights , best advice , make sure you have plenty shirts , did get sore ass cheeks sittin/ sleeping upright all thd time though …
navajo77Free MemberHmm just had 8 weeks off work with collarbone and ribs bust due to an otb .. it sucks still in pain , gonna be a long rehab .. BUT i managed do some painting round house , read lot of books , saved on fuel , on the smart trainer every few days , ran out of things to watch , put on some beef but one pieco of advice id give out is make sure you have plenty of shirts …

navajo77Free MemberGrew up there and lived there 26 years , not what it used to be but what small town is these days , i still get through at least once a month , simply is what you make it , some small minded people but thats the norm , few primary schools and the secondary i have no complaints , lot of pupils went on to do very well for themselves in years below me and above so cannot be that all bad .. findhorn beach small drive away and nairn not too far either , roseisle along from findhorn also a nice one and plenty fire roads and tarmac routes all out the back likes of romach reservoir area and out towards darnaway , also dava way offroad forres to grantown , mosset probably best pub atm good food also few shut now but the atmosphere was good while back , faces fit in all over as when the RAF were based nearby there was always different shades and tones so that wouldnt be a problem anywhere , inverness 1/2 hour on train or 45 mins in car and aviemore , cairngorms about same time , lots of tivers , lochs , bike trails and quiet bits to escape to , midges rare and winters ever milder …

navajo77Free MemberI thought this post was reffering to myself , i nearly got nailed this morning on a crossing coming up to a roundabout .. all my own fault to be fair , sadly i carried on even though i usually hold my hands up and mouth an apology i knew i was stupid and in the wrong but did not want a fire breathing backlash of abuse .. live to ride another day 🙈

Remove door via pins if on hinges , unscrew 3 screws per hinge , let one out of middle hinge , last one from bottom hinge , move door from frame and sit corner on floor , no need for chisels or screwdrivers to prop up ( just damage a wood floor anyway) , remove top screw door now loose .. you can measure from bottom of bottom hinge to your carpet and add on say another 5 mm to that size ( thats how much you need cut off door ) via a planer or circular saw , if door pre finished , mark one face with a knife along cut line , cut the opposite face with your circular saw and rub cut edges with plane or sandpaper .. now fit door back to posts by fitting top hinge first , let bottom corner rest on floor tap door to suit top hinge hole , fit one screw and go to bottom hinge and move out until holes align with himge and post , enter screw , check door if fine screw up rest of hinges , job donenavajo77Free MemberHmm i know of tea leaf tradies , one came across an X- rated room and proceeded to take home some of the footage recorded in camera still set up , another i know of worked for a temoval company and would acquire aftershave and jewellery before the goods got to europe … yes there is thieving scrotes and desireables out there You just never quite sure where …

navajo77Free MemberI reside in. Fortrose myself around 20 mins drive from Inverness on a good day, round 6 plus new housing sites cut under construction a few more in pipeline next few years.
Wee while back Fortrose were looking for retained firefighters not sure on current status though.
Dingwall not worst town around I’d say Nairn onwards east is crap depends what your after , Black Isle where I am has learning bike trails , 5 mins away , Lagan an hour 60 miles , Golspie 60 miles north , ft William couple hours ,west coast 90 mins away on quiet easy roads, 11 degrees yesterday up here and winters inverness area been rather easy past few years , stuck for choice for road rides and few good clubs in city , used to kayak sea and rivers the Inverness club is awesome and trips throughout the year if that’s your thing .
Nice beach 2 mins away and Nairn beach nice coastline with few nice houses with bit of character to boot 20 min drive from Inverness . Aviemore cool plethora of pursuits to do but I know a police Seargant who remarked it was his worst post ….
Other half and the in-laws from Plymouth and been here 30 years plus when it’s light till 10:30 in summer and the weathers on point can be one of the nicest places to live : few queerdos out & about but you get that everywhere on some level 👌…..
Good luck on choice
School 10 minute walk from me , local shop 5 mins same with gp ; bus service to Inverness iirc hourly…. nearly moved to aviemore ourselves before deciding on Black Isle but the a9 snow shift put us off as we both work Inverness area …navajo77Free MemberBeen informed from paypal my 500 original outlay being refunded to myself … woohoo 👍
navajo77Free MemberLife is so simple … get the woman’s phone , initiate contact with oz dude posing as herself. Tell him you’ve just given birth to a bouncing little girl and he’s the dad …. depending on reply you will then know if she was only sending bikini pics 👍
navajo77Free MemberI’m a carpenter and it’s not a hard diy tbh , quite possible with hand tools only and if you’re painting it any gaps , cuts not in line can be filled and painted , sliding bevel , spirit level , hire a bradder ( finishing gun if need to and use 4 inch bolt/screws through the newel to fix handrail , google stair specs , i.e. Handrail heights and spindle spacing … don’t rush it and you will be fine
navajo77Free MemberCalled other day was told first week in Aug I ordered march also , site showed in stock so I told them I’d cancel as I found out alpine bikes have one in Perth , phoned back 10 mins later and told me I’d get one first week of July , I can hold on I’ve 4 other bikes to ride so fingers crossed il have another in few weeks ….
navajo77Free MemberI have one coming soon I hope was meant to arrive weeks ago but as you say Santa Cruz inundated with orders and cannot keep up … I’ve a 2015 chameleon also so if it’s as good as that awesome
navajo77Free MemberI managed to put a campag mech into my back wheel last year , broke 4 spokes , mech and blew the tyre … wheel still not bang on as I went through 7 spokes , 4 replacements for the broken ones and another 3 for ones I snapped trying to get wheel true , think it was 6 mm open ended spanner and a shifter to hold the spoke , was bitch of job one small turn and another one snaps , good luck but thought myself do the nipples corrode a bit ….
navajo77Free MemberLove my neo air with its battery powered pump !! Wouldn’t go back to anything else
navajo77Free MemberI put up the odd kit , party walls are constructed with 140 deep timber , 50 ‘m cavity with rock wool inside, 9mm osb to cavity ,140 mm glass wool to kit panel, 18 mm thick planking and 12 mm plasterboard … and yes if you’re neighbour was on hol you could cut through to their house in 20 mins with an old saw , 10 with a reciprocator ……..
