    Cheers for the responses.

    My road bike isn’t anything special; Felt F95 with a few changes – mavic aksium wheels, 105 chainset and brakes. (If you’re interested: https://instagram.com/p/BC3Y_qOndnN/ ) But has seen me in the top 3% of the leaderboards for richmond park. :)

    Wheels are MT15s and are definitely first thing to be changed on the diet plan.

    The reason I’m asking for other people’s LR weights is to see what realistically changing seatpost/stem/mechs etc etc may result in weight wise.

    Cheers!

    Call me naive, but the last frame I built came with a bottom bracket gear cable guide, bottle bolts and clips for the rear brake cable.

    Think yourself lucky it came with a dropout tbh! (OK seriously, it should have come with this stuff, give them a bell)

    I ended up ordering separately..I already bugged them messing my original order up. :lol:

    Think we should have a poll here to see who uses which headset .. still seems to be various ones, some work some dont in individual bikes ?
    My lifeline is great , fits fine … no issues

    Stumpy_m4 = lifeline

    This is as flush as my lifeline headset will fit: http://tinyurl.com/j6q8qam

    But:
    Stumpy_m4 = lifeline

    @drac Where you advised to avoid certain foods? or even move to a more alkaline diet to help?

    I’m only 27 and I’m currently taking 2x20mg omeprazole a day.

    I’ve always had stomach pains, then back in december I was taking ibuprofen for a ankle injury (being really careful to take it with food only), when suddenly I got flu like symptoms that knocked me off my feet (everything but the snot) and couldn’t have any food. Was put on omeprazole 20mg a day for 2 weeks and they started working instantly.

    Last week I got the same again, knocked off my feet barely able to eat anything. I’ve been put back on omeprazole 2x20mg a day. Not helping this time – okay I barely get reflux – but I’ve got a constant stomach pain that has sharp periods at random times but almost always first thing after waking up. I can also only run up to a certain pace, if I push myself beyond that I get huge stomach pain and I feel like I’m about to.. you know..

    I’ve got to go back to the docs in a couple of weeks as that’s when these tablets run out, not looking forward to some of the tests you guys have been through!!

    I managed to get the chain rings off without taking the crank arms off.

    It was on the wrong way around, the holes were countersunk the other way round.

    It’s back on now the right way around and gear changes are smoooooth (the chain has no room to get wedged like before)!

    Cheers @dovebike.

    I’m really happy with the look of the LR, everything has pieced together nicely. Apart from the crown race I have (wiggle/lifeline), is flush with the bottom of the forks steerer but it lifts the frame slightly due to it’s design (as mentioned previously on this thread), there’s no play in it and it feels secure, it just doesn’t look as pleasing on the eye…

    Call me naive, but the last frame I built came with a bottom bracket gear cable guide, bottle bolts and clips for the rear brake cable..Also wasn’t happy with leaving the fork pannier bolts exposed so I’ve stuck some black rotor bolts in there.

    Looking forward to taking it for a spin when my pedals arrive. :lol:

    That was on first batches, people seem to be happy with the later ones?

    I’m not bodging mine, if there’s any quality issues it’s going back to PX, cycling in London is bad enough without having to be conscious that the bike may injure me itself…

    How come you’d remove the stickers?

    The bike, whichever one I decide to keep, will have a DNA sticker and will be fully insured (+lock insurance). Just need to get my receipts/pictures in order.

    I’ve just bought one, looking forward to bodging the seat clamp :P

    My 26″ Ribble R4 frame didn’t look right as a 29″/700c CX/commuter bike plus I think I messed up the geometry…

    Ah I see :)

    You’ll get there!

    (I went from 92kg 3 years ago to my current weight of 67kg mainly by turning pescatarian. It took me 6 months to get to my aim of 75kg, and until recently I was 70kg but I’ve jut found out I’m milk/wheat intolerant (I loved milk and bread) and now it just keeps dropping..)

    I have between 350-400g of carbs a day, is that a bad thing? :(

    But after a long cycle I get quite grumpy until I’ve eaten some stodge…

    HA, so I was clearly half asleep when I was dreaming up this idea..

    Forgot I had a pair of M520’s and a pair or Muddyfox MTB shoes – they ain’t pretty and they’re too wide now but they’ll do for commuting, and I can walk in them!

    Cheers, apologies for my idiocy!

    For breakfast I have:
    40g kale
    20g vegan protein (blend of pea, rice & soya)
    15g almonds
    5 pitted dates
    7g cacoa nibs
    10g g&b cacoa powder
    7g hemp seeds
    60g porridge oats
    350g almond milk
    1 banana

    All organic of course. Tastes very nice and is circa 700 calories and perfectly balanced (50% carb, 30% fat, 20% protein), perfect for after my morning 5k run.

    I’m just going to carry some espadrilles to get me from the bike to my desk via the changing rooms.

    I’m feeling a swap on the road bike to R550’s and put the R540’s on the commuter then :)

    I’ve just taken out “bikmo plus insurance”, reviews seem good and the site is very easy to use.

    @Snuggsey – Yeah I saw them, they looked good but the Clarks M2’s seem to be getting ever so slightly better reviews.

    @granny_ring – Cheers!

    @Rorschach – Cheers but that’s per wheel.

    @ davidtayforth – yeah white grips really didn’t work, they’re more cream now, plus those particular ones tore my hands to shreds last time. Black, Black and Black it is. :lol:

    @granny_ring & coolhandluke – Cheers for the offers guys, but not looking to purchase until my C2’s are sold (which could be tomorrow or next month).

    The next decider after that is black or white brakes/pedals:

    Hmm :lol: :lol: :lol:

    (it’s not a hugely expensive bike but I like it 8))

    Yeah, I’m hoping the sale price of the C2’s plus all the spares I have for it will allow me to buy some brakes ^^ some R540 pedals and a rear light.

    Trying to stay cash neutral on this bike plus justify to the missus as to why I need two bikes haha.

    I’ve also found these cable hyrdraulic (TRP HYRD copies):
    http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Cable-Actuated-Hydraulic-Integrated-Bicycle-Front-Rear-Disc-Brake-Set-MTB-Mountain-Bike-160mm-Oil-Disc/32433299825.html?spm=2114.13010208.99999999.261.rFI3ip

    Almost worth a punt to stick some road STI’s and drop bars on the bike lol

    Hope C2’s. I’d prefer to just have cheaper stuff on the bike to be honest.

    Plus they need bleeding, the last ones I tried to bleed (M4’s) were a nightmare and so I’d rather just sell them on to someone who know’s what they’re doing.

    I like the idea of fitting and ignoring :twisted:

    The most off roading I can do around here is Richmond Park or the Thames Path so these probably won’t be tested at all.

    Cheers for the responses!

    Posted this in the sticky thread by accident;

    Yeah I wasted ages chatting to both Eric and Martin..over ultegra chainsets.

    To be fair he chose very different teeth numbers, so he did his research.

    Both wouldn’t accept paypal, so I walked!

    Hi

    Not a problem.
    Unfortunately my pp has reached currently its temporarily limitation for funds from a bike I sold last month.
    The crank comes with BB.
    I could accept BT – takes only 1-2 days to process.

    Let me noticed back.

    Regards

    Eric S

    after stating he didn’t have paypal and so I refused to do a bank transfer:

    Alternatively we could split the payment into two amounts, with the rest after receipt.

    As a last chance.

    Regards.
