You can get a passport renewed in a day in the uk….you just need to go an office with a couple of photos, and someone to sign a photo wait four hours and hey presto.

I drove back into the uk two years ago and i went to the immigration/passport office… they did some id checks and let me pass.

EDIT….. sorry just realised sei Italiano

    Ciao tutti

Firstly to Jon and Elaine, I’m really sorry the week hadnt panned out as you hoped. The weather lack of open trails for our AM trails due to snow didnt help us one bit, but no excuses we should have done more, I will email you seperately.

As for the kind comments…thanks guys and Jo will be humbled to hear your kind words…..believe me no one misses her more than I do,4 months is a long time apart….but good news is that she will be back in Molini early May.

As for the other comments, I totally agree 100%, Rivierabike has grown from a little operation just for myself and Jo to something bigger that wasnt planned, with staff extra logistics…this has brought other work and problems and stress and we have lost our eye on the most important thing…our guests.

The most important aspect for a guide is not how he/she rides a bike it is how they interact with guests, and I admit I havent been the best at this lately.

All this is being sorted, Rich our current guide is great and we have a new guide starting soon, as well employing someone to do all the boring accounts stuff, this will give us more time with our guests, better organistaion, and a happy me… Rich has also been given permission to slap his boss should I ever be grumpy..

We also have a third backup van and extra drivers should there be a breakdown or ill drivers etc… oh and we have new keys cut for the garage but I will have to attach them to a lead weight so they wont get lost!

If any of you here are booked with us and have concerns please get in touch, we assure you will have a great time..

As for Mark at molinifreeride, we are friends what happened before is water under a bridge.. only the other day we were rebuilding parts of a trail together and we will be drawing out a programme of works to keep all the other trails in check and open new ones. Not only that we happily pass on clients to each other…… Hora, if you want just to jump in the odd day in a group then Mark will be better suited to help as he specialises more in day/weekend groups.

It has been a roller coaster of a ride since starting Rivierabike 7 years ago, and its the best thing that we have ever done, we are not perfect and we have worked too hard to make it what it is to let it go wayward….. so we will strive to be better..

    Grazie e Arriverderci

If you value your daughters health, then stop her doing it.

My partner did gymnastics when she was young…..now in later life she suffers from many assosciated problems…. she knows many other ex gymnasts with the same problems…

The Urge is my helmet of choice, and i have had a massive stack on mine….face planted at v high speed when my front whell gave way on a slippy wooden bridge.

My face hi the ground and disloged a rock….the chin piece on my urge received a hairline crack and the visor exploded……..

The helmet did its job….and did it well.

I am a MTB guide and protection is paramount to me.

Whats important with helmets is fit, some helmets fit well others dont….so try some out.

i hired an i40…and it took me 15 minutes to figure out how everything worked….nice car though and 50mpg doing 80mph is amazing for such a big car…..totally lacking in power whilst cruising though…had to drop down a gear and the stupid sounds the car does when leaving entering etc… grates after a while.

Nowthat said just bought a 2008 VW cravelle 130 and its much nicer to drive than the i40!!!

Is that even legal? Surely as a customer your first port of call is the retailer you bought it from.

Thats what I thought, while manufacturers usually back up the retailer, the legal responsibility is with the retailer.

This email was sent to retailers etc… and not to customers, so your LBS will have the post back and most probably will have to send it to Europe.

I will be bringing a quite few litres of the taggiasca olive oil (the smaller darker but amazing flavour olives and cnsidered the best) to the uk this summer, it will be first press.

These are harvested by my neighbours her in Italy.

I have seen litre bottles go for £30 plus in borough market in london

I earn my living out of taking people mountain biking in Italy…imagine alpine trails but techier with steep drops to the side and very tight switchbacks…all in thick decideous woods with a thick 2-3 foor layer of leaves and debris……very difficult to ride.. I wish they were pine trees but alas no.

These trails are over 10 km long….now if it was in the UK then it would be a bit pointless, but its very different here

As Marko said…its great for a day or two and you have free lifts. Its a very high resort with little trees so not much good singletrack…but there may be more that we missed, but general concensus by people i know and who have been there is that les arcs (www.trailaddiction.com) just down the road is waaay better….not as cheap….but for a reason

You could stay in tignes and maybe do some day trips to other spots tho..

So reassure me, you love the Xelius, right?!

yeah, have changed the stem, post and saddle (which i had lying around)… lovely lovely machine

new wheels next on the cards, the aksiums look great but under heavy load you really feel the flex.

EDIT.. is that the 2011/2010 model? mine was a 2012..

If you call Hotlines direct they will sell you ex demo stuff…I got a brand new (ok ridden for a day to do a mag test) xselius 200 (carbon/ultegra) for 50% off and that was for the public!!

Hmmm brands that halfords killed….saracen, kona, airborne, voodoo…and Im sure there are others…

But good luck to them anyway, i can see the appeal dropping after a while and by then the brand “snobs” will have moved to another brand..

    DEFINATELY try before you buy.

Also the shimano STI levers are very chunky, my GF complains that she cannot get her hands around the hoods and use the brakes from there (when cruisng etc..)

I have the urge and had avery high speed impact …the visor shattered, the chin piece stayed intact (but cracked) and i had some dirt in my mouth….but thats all, without, it would have been a lot worse.

You do lose some protection on the front but gain better breathability.. and it does help…. I am getting ane one in a weeks time!!

THa said i only use it when i do shuttle runs and not for general xc/am
