One of our guests had the edition 25 style california, fully loaded, beautiful bus. BUT it still rattled and squeaked like any other van……. I would have one in a shot if i could afford it, but more tha n happy with my T5 shuttle

Just be aware if you buy the van then you are limited to max of 60mph, I have a couple of friends who have now been pulled over for speeding when doing 70 on dual carriageways..

Seems like the Police may be clamping down as so many people have “leisure vans” but drive them like cars.

I have a 9 seater T5 shuttle and I love it and i can do 70 legaly, however if I did not need it for work, I would get a long wheelbase caddy with full seats, trim and windows….fast, spacious twice the economy of the T5

in the process of doing mine..

I am 6 months in, got the root out, and the implant is in….just need to wait for the bone to properly heal around it.

I am also getting a new crown and post in the adjacent tooth.

cost is €2500 for all of the work, but it is discounted as the dentist rides mountain bikes……….. this is in Italy.

    3.3k sterling sounds extortionate

I have sort of answered my own question anyway as I will be away on holiday most of August so doesnt really make much sense to adopt until I get back. Think a selfish part of me wanted one straight away so It would make me feel better. Will speak to the shelter on options of “reserving” a cat.

Probably am overthinking it, but just worried I may not “bond” with it if I got another too soon, again probably thinking too much about it

We have done 1000 mile trips in ours regularly (uk to italy) and the double is very uncomfortable for anything longer than 3 hrs…. cthe missus now insists on either stopping over the night or she takes the plane…

get a captains single seat….much better..

I’m 5ft11 and used to run the old mega in medium size with a 60mm stem. I now have a large mega AM 27.5 with a 50mm stem, reach is 40mm longer, fits me perfectly. My old mega just feels wrong now.

I prefer the general lee cassette, you get 3 more cogs for £30 more. Dpacing through the gears is better and you dont lose your 17

The kona process is awesome, but just put my leg over the yt…… Jesus what a bike, looks amazing and goes even better……… Problem is tho, they are all sold out. Also ridden the trek slash whoch is a great bike, but budget for a rad cartridge as the current fox is a bit pants….. If you are considering the process then u should also take a look at tge nukeproof mega pro and save yourself 700 quid over the kona.

Nashers General Lee upgrade looks interesting – what you running upfront?

running it at the mo with a 32 as I’m a bit unfit but when up to full summer fitness I will run a 34.

The ratios on the general lee IMO is better thought out than just sticking a single ring after a normal 36 tooth cassette and losing your 19/17. The 40 tooth low gear is great and the next 34 tooth down is great for general climbs, the 40 just gets me out of trouble. The standard gear on the cassette works great when descending and no big jumps in gearing.

It may be a bit more expensive than a oneup for example but you do get 4 chainrings and some pretty impressive CNC’ing

They are my bike of choice as a guide here in the Italian Maritime Alps…. Excellent geometry, bombproof and great VFM, Hotlines have every single part imaginable in stock should you need spares.

I have a large 27.5 mega AM pro, fits me perfectly at about 5ft 11, previously I had the Med older model…the top tube was very short on that.

The Large pro 27.5 has a centre to centre wheel base of 1200mm and 66deg head angle….. it will tackle anything and with relatively short chain stays its very agile despite its length.

The rc3 monarch plus and pike is probably the best suspension set up out at the moment

Yes its a bit weighty, but possible to get it to under 31 pounds. Mine is stock bar a general lee 40 tooth cassette at the back and 1000m vert climbs is not a problem if speed is not an issue.

If I was in the UK then I think a TR would be on my radar but built up with a pair of pike’s. The mega AM comes to its own on long steep trails it may be a struggle to keep the speed on undulating trail centre type trails…. but I haven’t ridden it on one yet I’m only going on experience on my old mega albeit with 170 forks on it!!! so I could be totaly wrong.

Liking the orange colour…… Like everyone else said….. Heat and pop it out.

A heat gun such as paint stripper gun is good for discolured plastics, just make sure you dont melt it

Hey, sorry for the delay in getting back, there are slight differences between the AM and enduro matic, but they are interchangeable.

the snow is hitting here on wednesday so will have a garage clearout, i may have a cracked enduro matic somewhere with a spare visor.

If you can wait a a couple of weeks, I will be going to the Urge HQ, they may have some. what colour do you need?

my t5 2.5 lwb sguttle (9 seats and lots of glass and gubbins) gets on average 30-32mpg.

in a van more like 35 as its lighter

if i drive at 60 on the motorway i can get 36-38 mpg

mega am, very capable machine, £3200 and money left over for a holiday to try it out proper….or sell the drivetrain and get X01 bringing the weight to 30 pounds and still some change

    Coz they look cool
And if you snap a spoke on the sprocket side, you can easily replace it while on the trial..
    Assuming you carry a spare.

this was the main reason as removing cassettes is a pain, thinking of the stans flow rims.

They will be complete hope hoops.

Will give hope a call today.

This was attached to my Van the other day in deepest darkest Surrey. The van isn’t even no where near her house, and its parked on the unlit side of the street, the other side is empty. Worst thing is she called my lovely van “horrid” how very middle class!!!

    Hey Stu

This company works in conjunction with the Italian qualification….I’m not sure how it works, but if the course is anything like the Italian one bring something to stop you falling asleep….

Seems like the growing number of visitors to certain ski resorts (Les Arcs for example) the local ski instructors see a new avenue of work and this (rightly or wrongly) will affect non french qualified guides……

Somehow I cannot see French authorities backing down…… good luck anyway and remember when changing disk sizes, change the adapters also:D

    Guys

We can sometime be a bit long to respond to emails (we do try to do it within 2 days), which is something we are working on as our admin and answering upto 30 mails a day after riding all day is getting quite a lot and difficult to manage..

THis is something we are rectifying with a new email client allowing us to respond via smart phones when we get a quiet spot during the day as well as new accounting software that will replace our Outlook/Excel setup

We have also been having problems with some emails not arriving in our inbox as they are marked as spam….especially if they are from work/company email addresses (even if we have responded previously) again we will have a new website with a new host which will hopefully rectify this problem..

But 2 weeks is out of the ordinary and can only apologise for this, @ Singlespeed Stu if you havent given up by now pleased drop us another line quoting stw.

As I said in another email, we have been operating now for 7 years running trips for 10-11 months of the year and has been extremely hard work.. We are all human, and we all do f***ups but I’m not prepared to let 7 years of hard work go down the drain, so we are rectifying some of the issues we have..

I live in Italy and you have to keep the many layers of beurocracy (keeping people in non jobs) happy.

an italian friend of mine lost his wallet, took about 3 months to get replacemnet bank cards, id card and driving licence….

Then again Italy has so much other tings going for it….. dealing with the state however is something you really dont want the hassle of doing…
