Awesome, I live in the southern part of the maritime alps and the temps here is in the 20’s!! did a 7 day point to point tour with mates, getting up at dawn seeing the sun rise over the med from 2000m was pretty special and hooning down alpine trails at night..

Mine isn’t the debonair, its Specialized’s propriety one (with autosag) so will need to send it off for a custom tune..

Remember that most of the trails are closed on Sunday and wednesday because of the cinghale (boar) hunting. Please dont ignore this as there is huge conflict in Finale at the moment.

Hmmmm seems like the likes Nukeproof is not the value it once was, the Spesh Enduro Comp is £100 cheaper at £2500 than the Mega Comp.

Both are near identical in spec, and geometry.

I would reccommend Liguria – the italian riviera..

Tons to do for mtbers and the family from great beaches to stunning mountains, you also have Genoa, Sanremo. Monaco, Nice if you wantva city visit.

Again Molini. I know of a house going for €180 a month, an apartment 30mins down the road on the beach from €350 a month. Just 30 mins from monaco, but the coffe is awrsone and just €1 for un cafe al banco… And the riding is awesome… All year…

The YT Capra is the most common bike (along with the SC nomad) on our trips here in Italy.

Now that they have sorted the chainstay/hanger issue, they are awesome machines.

The only issue we have seen are the models with the E13 wheels. We have had to send three to the local bike shops to be re built (the shop has seen over 20 of these wheels for rebuilds) as the spokes keep snapping and one wheel where the freehub seized..

Other than that, no resaon to get one..

Second Lou and Ale, therecare plenty of trails there for the more beginner. They will cater it for you. Ask them to take you to Nava or Calizzano, like finale but not worn out and no crowds, Molini if yoi fancy a big alpine style day..

Two vert different places, Finale will be a nightmare in the main town as most of Italy closes and heads to the coast for their month holiday…. Even we close in August (we run Rivierabike in Molini). There are shuttle companies in finale that may be open, but most close in August.

I would head off to Les Arcs, some amazing stuff in and around there, aalso good if you are DIY you can take advantage of the lifts and not rely on shuttles..

Lyon, I do the journey from london to Finale (well 45mins before Finale) in one sitting, it takes 10-12 hours from Calais if you head straight towards Marseilles..

The journey is boring as £$%& mind…but the quickest route.

Well good luck with the registration, we tried to do this in Italy and basically it would have taken a year and a shed load of money, with no guarantee..

We now use box trailers with bikes hanging off each end like a pickup, cheap, just as quick to load as a burtech and can also use to carry luggage from airport.

One of my friends Matthias Merschner from http://www.trailexperience.de wants a burtech railer, maybe you could buy together and organise some sort of delivery?

BTW are you using UK reg vehicles? these trailers cannot be used with Italian registered vehicles.
