Marzocchi are going through the phase that Rock shox did before then were bought by SRAM and then introduced the Pike, revelation etc..

The psylos etc were crap, and thery just churned them out for a couple of years before the new stuff came out.

In 2010 I believe Marzochi will be revamped, they have been bought out (like SRAM did to rock shox) and their head engineers etc.. have been sacked to make way for new blood.

Just wait a bit and I reckon Marzocchi will be top dog again…cant wait as I love my 66’s

Problem with welsh names the CH, LL’s etc is very difficult to pronounce properly and write phonrtically.

The u at the end of dolgellau is not “you” but more as in the u “dull” but pit a little more emphasis on it.

A as in Ad in advertisment.

    Dol as in “Col”

“gell” is easiest as “geth” for you english, but is NOT the correct pronounciation.

And the “au” pronounce as “lau” with e u prononced as above.

Handy language Welsh though as it makes speaking and pronouncing other languages very easy….

Went boarding yesterday in Limone Piemonte, Italy.

€22 for day pass, empty slopes, loads of snow and powder, Huge plate of susage caserole, rice, bread and a beer €10!

Why do people go to France?

Whats more the Sterling is gaining sternght, now 1.11 Toursits, 1.15 Median to the Euro and despite the drop of .5% on the interest rate its still getting stronger. Could be back to 1.2 towards mid end of Feb.

Thing is, distributors agree a price for these products often a year in advance, so if they are importing rockshox at a set $ rate thena ll and good.
but in a year the sterling has lost %0 of its value to the dollar and 40% t the sterling, yet these manufacturers still want their € and $.

The next shipment has to be paid for an as a result the prices go up.

If I had the choice then Magura Louise….simply awesome. however I need the flip flop design for my hire bikes and use formula

    The K 18/24 are Ace.

The “the one” is simply gorgeous and very powerful with loads of feel and one finger endo’s always possible. However as the mag review said it took me a while to get use to the squishy feel and long lever throw…that said on constant long descents I did not get achy braking fingers.

So either Louise FR or The One.

    NCAP score :

0, that`ll be nothing, zero, nil points

The only car ever to do it, so I was told..

the alpha 147 didnt even go for a NCAP test as alpha knew it would fail….badly!

    Very varied in europe.

For example an award here in Italy is just an afternoon in a town hall, yet in France it can take you at the minimum 3 years!!

My GF and my friends said they woul never go there again, even if it was all free with spending money thrown in.

They got fed up of being pestered all the time, crap food…crap everything.

However if you are the type who wants to experience “culture” then you may be OK but otherwise avoid!!

As for the sterling V Euro….everyone here in Italy is suffering as bad as the british at the mo and The CEB is about to drop its interest rates, so expect the Sterling to creep back up to 1.25/3.0 by summer time.

Also the sterling is undervalued at the mo

tourist rates is now up to 1.09 and the median rate is 1.13

Last week it was at 1.02 and 1.06 respectively

I use fox forks 36’s on my hire bikes (only because they come with them)

And on 2 of them the stanchions are worn….is it because it was too dusty?

    through your nose???????????

dont think so, as the camera goes down your throat!

H Pylori can be caused naturaly, it is a bacteria which is treatable.

What are your eating and drinking habits like?

    Mr Nutt

You need an endoscopy down your throat (a tube with a camera down it…very uncomfortable) they can see if theres any inlamation and take samples to test for H Pylori.

H Pylori is the best result to have as its easily treatable.

I have these symptoms, if its H Pylori, then this very easily tratable with some drugs.

Rwflux is different you may have a hiatus hernia (your oesaphagus is weak and allows acid into your throat….ignore barrets syndrome for now, you will just get worries.

Anyway I suffer or have suffered rrom these.

    My tips are:

Dont eat late (eat 3 hrs before bedtime)
    eat more but smaller meals
cut down on beer and wine
    dont smoke

    Sip honey and hot water

    OR

a tea spoon of Cider apple vinegar. this may be mad but not producing enough stomach acid can cause these symptoms

Those really red apples help also.

Dont drink milk as tthis is very acidic…

Drop me a mail if you want as I have alot of tips and techniques and the BS that doctors give you.

I believe they are more or less WTB hubs (made by them I think)

Nuke proof of the mid 90’s were well nice (ti & carbon etc) and VERY expensive.

My only concern are repalcement bearings! are they metric or imperial? if imperial they could be costly!

A lot of our guests have had the planet X ones and have had no bother.

a few have had a handful of the expensive hard cased ones, and a few of the boxes have been quite badly damaged…luckily the bikes were OK though.

Me personally I like cradboard bike boxes with lots of foam lagging, especially when weight is even more restricted on aircraft

Would be interesting to know how they perform as i havent seen any long term reviews.

Not to keen on the joplin (sideways movement and reliability) and the gravity dropper has no layback!

Keep us posted with a long term test!!

Is that 1.9 or 2.5, been looking at those, very nice but not sure whether they will cope with the load. I also have a ducato with a 2.8 common rail turbo and that flies.

    I love the high roller.

Not the best for tarmac as they can drag.

    I use both 2.35 and 2.5 in bothe 42a and 60a.

The 60 is good for dry rocky conditions, but if its a bit wet i go for the 42a…but on the front only.

Going to Europe is not expensive, its just not as cheap as it used to be.

Beers, food etc.. although still better quality than the UK is about the same price, and still cheaper in less touristy places.

To offset that, flights are getting much cheaper also.

By Law a dealer cant sell you an unroadworthy and adangerous car.

i.e if the engine goes bang…tough luck, but if the brakes do (within a time period) then the dealer is liable.

Also there is some false advertising there!!!

Although I had ‘scorin’ well actually a groove, but the worst thing was the creaking!

now I am not saying the problem is CK but the fact is that when i used another headset the creaking went.

THe centrtal european bank aill drop their interest rates ans Europe is starting to suffer.

In turn this will make the Euro weaker and improve the exchange rate.

I reckon it will be about 1.2 by summer.

It has already gone up .1 in the last couple of weeks.

It happened on my pikes and my friends Fox 36.

What annoyed me most was the creaking, and my pikes had avery deep groove.

However I had one on my road bike with a carbon steerer…..no problems at all.

It seems the problems lie with long travel suspension forks, there was a thread somwhere on MTBR saying that the design and tight tolerances of the CK headset does not allow for any ‘give’ hence the scoring.

BTW I used other headsets and no problems.

It is ana mateur site and they give better forecast, especially the long range ones.

The Met office etc do not like to give long range forecasts out (5 days plus) in case they are wrong and they get criticised for it. They still get jib after Michael Fish’s failure to see the storm in the 80’s

    Yes you can

And you dont have to dismantle that much items

Your suspension strut only needs removing at the wishbone end, and that can slide out bringing the drive shaft out (make sure you catch the gear box fluid.

You will also need to drop the engine slightly. by delocating one of the engine mounts. just hold the engine with a jack , loosen the mounting bolts. lift the jack and move the engine in place and drop it alitlle.

now you can remove the box. when replacing clutch (you ight as well do it now as clutches are cheap to buy. and make sure you buy an alignment tool.

    Put back together and oil.

    * THats the basic way of doing it and there may be a few ancillaries to remove.
